"Sir, the Merenia republic has called for a diplomatic meeting in the Bering Strait. All leaders from major nations have answered the call; what should we say about it?" A messenger breaks into Yoimiya's room while I barely get the deal done with her, and now this meeting.
"I will attend it, of course. I suggest you stay Yoimiya; many nations still support the Pope and his decision to eradicate Witches. You might not be so welcomed." I say to the now-new Witch Princess, as her title suggested. Yoimiya always seemed cautious, but surprisingly enough, they gave me some pushback.
"If all the leaders of each nation are bound to go there, then it would make sense I also go; it might be the best place to be, actually," Yoimiya responds with a firm voice and conviction, but I fail to see what she was talking about, why would it be good for her to go there with me?
"I don't see your point. Would you elaborate?" I ask the princess, and she very sharply demonstrates a high level of quick thinking.
"My mere presence in the meeting is bound to spread like wildfire; bad news always travels faster than good ones; the meeting might be the best place to spread the word that I've become the next Witch ruler." Yoimiya's answer quickly opened my eyes to her mentality but also made me wonder how she could even be so witted.
"I get it; fine, then you'll also come. Tell the council I will also bring a special guest to the meeting. Did you get it?" I say to my servant while I look at Yoimiya right in the eyes, noticing her glow grow bigger with excitement. I guess the thought of rebuilding her nation fired her up.
"Got it, sir. I will depart right away along with the rest of the shadows." The servant responds quickly, leaving the area after throwing some sort of black smoke magic that makes him disappear in a puff.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Alright, I'll check out the damage in some towns nearby; feel free to rest." I basically say my goodbye to Yoimiya before leaving her room without any more fuzz or talk. Honestly, that kid seemed way too intelligent and witted to be some random eight-year-old; I might've underestimated them a lot, which was quite frightening.
Did they know about my plan to make her distrust her friend? Did she already know about my intention to turn her into my nation's weapon? If she did, then why did she let me keep going? I had so many questions yet very few answers; at least she didn't say anything directly to me, but I better be careful with them moving forward; going against her would be a grave mistake. She could cause great damage to my nation by herself.
The crimson moon I saw that day still haunts me in my sleep, and I just can't get it out of my head. If that child keeps improving her control over that power, she will, without a doubt, double or triple my maximum amount of power output within a year, which is quite scary since it has taken almost twenty-five years to get where I am.
I know that witches are far above humans, but Yoimiya is a freak even among witches, and I can say that because her friend Veronica is also a witch, yet she is not even nearly as powerful as her. Perhaps Yoimiya is a prodigy or a true angel disguised as a witch. Whatever the case, I must keep her happy moving forward.
Letting the Witches rebuild their nation on my territories is also great. If I can manage to convince the Witches and their leader that we are trustworthy humans, then the next time they rise, my nation will be number two alongside number one.
I heard the only reason the holy city managed to win against the Witch kingdom was because of that Julius fellow, but if that gray man helps us to beat him, then the papal state stands no chance against a rebuilt Witch nation with the support of my nation and the House of Spades if I can get them to help us.
My plan is ambitious, but you have to take risks if you wish to win!
