The world voice speaks as I finish off a few monsters at the nearby village. The people, their faces a mix of fear and confusion, look to me for guidance. I quickly devise a plan to lead them to safety. "Hurry! Follow me to Lord Auri's mansion! We're vulnerable in this open field!"
"Wait, is that you, Lady Yoimiya?" A woman asks as she slowly stands from the ground after being knocked down by a monster, whom she finally ends up killing.
"Yes, you could say that now, let's go! I know you are confused, but we can't stay here! There are too many of you and only a few fighters." More portals soon opened up near everyone present, only demonstrating why we had to move to another place that wasn't so open like their little town.
"RAWR!" A damn dragon! Why!? Out of all the monsters that could've spawned this time, why did it have to be a dragon, for god's sake?! "Run! Run to Lord Auri's mansion! Follow the path! I'll be right behind you once I finish off this thing! GO!"
I can barely even finish my sentence before the dragon chooses to target me out of everyone else, starting their move by trying to kick me out of the way with their tail, which, luckily for me, fails once their tail crashes with my shield, which seems to burn it off a little bit.
However, they do manage to move me quite a bit back with that move, as well as slightly fracture my shield, letting me know that their attack would have easily broken through if it wasn't for the nature of dark magic. I'm a little shaken even after realizing I was okay. The sheer amount of strenght that little flick had worried me.
To my surprise, it didn't take long for the people to obey my orders, running away as I tried to defeat a dragon out of all the monsters that could've come. The dragon was big and tall, around twenty feet tall, with long green and purple scales protecting their body.
The dragon also had the same sorts of tattoos and markings around them, as that lava monster, only further demonstrating they were connected somehow, but how would the two races be related? The little goblins didn't have such markings, so what could it mean?
"RAWR! GUAWR!" The dragon breaks free, pretending to ignore me, suddenly forcing me to run after it. "Come back you overzised lizard!" I say that, but the dragon doesn't even look back, pushing me further to take drastic action, which I do by throwing my sword their way.
Luckily for me, my sword does land on the dragon's back, penetrating their body which makes them turn around angrily, only making me say a cute short "Shit." The angry dragon starts screaming while they throw their fire magic at me with a mouth. Honestly, I didn't get paid enough for this.
Once again, I get another lucky break when I notice the shield extending its protection range to cover my entire body with a thin dark shell that produces from its original solid body around my arm. Yet even with this good news, I still move away from the dragon's breath as my shield starts cracking again.

"Ah, fuck it! You know what?!" I say as I stop moving around, trying to avoid the dragon's breath, which finally annoys me too much to deal with it, leaving me with one option in my arsenal since I don't even have my sword with me anymore.
"Darkness magic! Covered in darkness! FULL COUNTER!" I lower my shield once my casting is complete, but this time, something is different. Once I cast the full counter, the spell seems to struggle for a bit, and some of the fire goes past the absorption part, hurting a little bit.
Still, the dragon doesn't know what I have done, so they keep throwing their fire breath, thinking it must be killing me, until I open the full counter portal next to their face. Their flames soon rush out of the portal, scorching its eyes since that was my primary target.
"RAAAAWR! GUAAAAAARRW!" The dragon screams as it stops, throwing fire breaths at me, slowly stepping back and trying to open their now disabled eyes. As for me, my body was fine; it was just my clothes that had been a little scorched, but now I knew the limits to full counter.
If the enemy is considerably stronger than me, then the full counter will not throw their attack back at them at full, and some of it will manage to damage me as well. It was good to know such limitations, perhaps knowing this would save my life as I thought it had infinite range and damage detection, but apparently, it does not.
Moments later, I approach the roaring dragon, and without even thinking about it, my sword reappears in my hand once I'm close enough. "Uh?" That is all I manage before taking advantage of having my weapon back with me; I boldly decide to fight the dragon in their weakened state, running toward them and targeting its legs.
Yet the dragon doesn't make things easy as it once or twice manages to kick me out of their range once they feels my sword cutting through their scales. There was no doubt that the creature had tremendous strength, and it easily kicked me back every time.
"Come on, you son of a bitch!" Once I get one of their legs, the rest go down much faster as it loses control over their balance even further, not to mention the bleeding starts depleting their HP, if they even had such a thing.
Moments later, the dragon ends up on the floor without vision and legs. All it can do now is just trash around, but that doesn't stop me as the blood from its body reaches my lips again, calling me to kill it and drink it. I wanted to do so, but why?
Soon, that feeling of euphoria returns, and I barely manage to keep it away this time, trying my best not to lose control. I could feel the dark and holy magic inside me fighting to stay balanced, as both powers wished me the best, but one was just too violent and driven by bloodlust, which I didn't like.
"Alrighty, dragon! It's time to die!" I say as I climb up their back, causing them to trash around even more, but I don't fall off now that I have both energies balanced out again. Feeling peace again, I can easily climb up their back until I'm at the base of their neck.
With my sword in hand, I swing it toward the dragon's neck, which does manage to penetrate a long way deep into it before it stops, forcing me to keep going with all my might, all while the dragon desperately moves around, trying to get me off their back.

The world voice finally speaks once the dragon's head falls off their body, finally letting me have a breather, or so I think, before even more portals open up near me, making me say a comprehensible "Oh, come on!"
