"So the world would be in trouble if that happened?" I ask Lady Baba as she continues to strike the hot metal bar I hold firmly in place with all my strenght. The old hag soon responds to my question as she cleans the sweat from her head.
"Yeah, the whole world would be in deep trouble if the seal gave, but that will never happen; the seal is supposed to stand for at least thousands of years to come, so it's all just a legend; make the metal hot again pan." The old hag gave me my orders, so I placed the hot metal bar back in the furnace with a pair of thongs.
"Wow, I'm surprised you know this much about history, Lady Baba. Would you care to tell me more about that legend?" I ask Lady Baba to continue their story, which they seem very fond of telling, like they've been waiting for someone to listen to her tales for a while.
"Ahaha! Yes, of course! I always appreciate it when youngsters like you are interested in such things; then where should I begin?" Baba says as I pull the metal piece out of the furnace again so she can start striking it once more. That's when she starts retelling the story.
"A long time ago, when the world was on the brink of collapse, a mysterious council of deities appeared with an offer to the usual world gods. The new deities proposed a deal to help out this world and restore its core to stop it from collapsing with the condition to add the world to their list of 'tournaments,' as they called them." Baba strikes the metal harder than before as she keeps going.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
"Back when the deal was struck between gods, one small child of Andromeda disagreed with the proposal to place the world in a sort of 'gambling' list like it didn't mean anything." Baba continued as I turned the metal around for her several times.
"Was that child the original Witch Queen?" I ask.
"Yes, the first Witch Queen didn't like that the world was saved by such means, and thus, she worked very hard to devise a protection plan for the world. Over time, the Witch Queen grew stronger and mightier than any warrior the world had ever seen challenging gods as she wished." Baba continued, now moving their hand to the furnace again.
"Woah! She sounds cool!" I say as I keep listening, which pleases the old hag.
"Once a couple of years had gone by, the world soon got signed into its first tournament, which provided it with irreplaceable holy weapons to be used by a few chosen ones, but of course, the Witch Queen had other plans," Baba says as we wait for the metal to heat up again.
"What did she do?" I ask so she keeps going, which she does, even happier at my fake interest in her story.
"Well, to put it bluntly, the Witch Queen sent out the middle finger to the gods of destruction by sealing this world's magical gates from outside forces using the power of the holy weapons they had provided. The Witch Queen conjured an impenetrable shield that has kept this world intact from outside forces to this day."
