"Yoimiya is nowhere to be seen, and the last person who saw them claims she just vanished out of thin air after a fog covered her soulmate. This leads us to believe either the church or that Julius guy had something to do with it." One of my loyal shadows gave me their report with nothing but bad news; now that I had to leave for the summit, I had no time to waste.
"Thank you for your efforts; please keep looking for them." The shadow tips their hat so they can finally vanish into the darkness of the night. I plan to discuss this with Yoimiya's mother and that other less powerful Witch Kid.
While I plan to extend my hand to the witches out of my pocket, I do not have the same confidence without Yoimiya here. Her power and strenght are my ace cards; without Yoimiya, my cards are pretty bad. She is the Queen on the chess board, while all my other pieces are nothing but pawns.
What can I do in a scenario like this? I am not weak by any measure, but my Phoniex does not even compare to her raven darkness. The power of pure flame is weak against the abyss. My stats are above forty thousand, yet with just fifteen thousand; she was able to kick my ass like I were a weakling. That power of hers is useful.
Aside from her power value, my people have also become fond of her thanks to her contributions in our last battle, practically being the flashiest fighter from our battle line. Everyone who has encountered Yoimiya seems to have nothing but good things to say about her, so not supporting her would be a mistake.
I know that my nation will face challenges trying to go against the church and the rest of the world, but my bet is that Yoimiya will pull through and become strong enough to defeat their holy weapon, Julius. Once he falls, the church will fall, and my nation will reap the bounty by taking the sacred land and all the loot that comes with it, which is over half of the world's riches.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Besides, suppose I am the leader who finally manages to destroy the church and spread the religion of the flame god. In that case, I will be hailed a hero of my people for many generations to come, the leader who not only stood up to the church and won but also pushed back and won. I will become a legend, and that's all I really want, if I am, to be honest.
The peace summit at the Bering Strait will be a big event, and I only wished to go along with my ace card, but if she is not available, then I will just have to make it with her mother and her friend, which is why I am now walking to their rooms so I can talk to them and pitch them a tag along.
{Knock Knock}
I knock on Ariel's door for a while until she finally opens with a tired look on her as I probably woke up. "I am sorry to disrupt you, but could we talk briefly? It's an important matter." I say to Ariel while all she does is open the door fully to let me into her dorm.
"You must be Lord Auri, as Veronica told me," Ariel says to me, taking me by surprise since I hadn't told her my name yet, but I guessed since Veronica told me her name, then she probably told her my name, not that it mattered. It just startled me a little.
"Yes, I am Deus Auri, the lord of this nation, and if Veronica didn't lie, you're Lady Yoimiya's mother." Ariel proudly puffs her chest out to answer my comment with a clear "Yes! That's me!" I suppose her mom would be where she had got her lively energy; they were so similar. Their facial features were almost identical.
"As you might know already, your daughter became quite the powerful noble in my nation under my command and later became a true princess thanks to your guy's power." Ariel nods along all the way while looking proud and happy. I compliment her daughter until I bring up her disappearance again.
"I am dropping many resources into her recent disappearance, but we haven't found anything so far, which leads us to believe either the church or Julius had something to do with it. Rest assured, she is still alive. We just don't know where she is."
"It's the damn church again; I apologize in the name of all witches for not destroying that organization when we could. It just seemed like a positive entity for humanity. We didn't know about your guy's religion at the time." Ariel suddenly brings up a weird point, but it doesn't matter now anyway.
"There's no need to apologize; if anything, I should be the one apologizing for my next selfish request."
