So, I'm a witch, so what?
Chapter 62: Great sage

Chapter 62: Great sage

Uhm, so I'll be going to the Bering Strait of this world, uh? Would there be any chance for me to learn about this place at the library? There are some books about folklore the other day; if I don't remember correctly, one of them said something like the following.

"The Bering Strait refers to a neutral location nearly at the center of the world where the original Witch Queen is said to have killed the original ruler of this world way before Andromeda took over the role as leader of the godly realm."

If the legend of the book is to be believed, then I would like to see this place. It also might be a great place to hang out a little. If the Original Witch Queen fought there, then perhaps the Crown would react to the location or whatever, but the main goal remains the same with me.

I must keep my cool and also preserve my strenght to fight Julius again if I have to. Hopefully, he will not be there, but if he does show up, I will have to face him, and this time, I will be ready. I was tired and out of MP, SP, Holy MP, Stamina, and HP. I clearly could've done better.

I will probably lose still, but there's no doubt that nobody will like him anymore if he chooses to fight me and I destroy the entire meeting place, and by the looks of things, that's all Julius cares about; he's a pure narcissist that wants people to like him and respect him as well as praise him and nobody would if he was the sole reason many leaders died.

In other words, I will be safe going to that meeting even if he shows up, as I doubt he will want humans to dislike him, at least since he has already become a hero among most human nations that support the Pope and his decision to commit genocide against Witches and Elves.

On the other side of the equation, there are also the Elves that have seen persecution among human territories; if I can get them to make allies with me and my upcoming Kingdom, then we will grow stronger than any other nation in the world, which will eventually lead to the recovery of our lost territory.

I do not know what the Demon King is after right now, but I've heard that they have stopped attacking human territories after the most recent fight. In any case, it would be pretty convenient if the Demon King ceased fire and even attended the meeting; if I could try to befriend them, then the recovery of our lands would be much smoother without the need for bloodshed.

It is pretty improbable, however, seeing as how this world's version of demons seems to despise Witches and the Witch nation in general as they blame the Original Witch Queen for their exile. Hopefully, I will be able to restore peace with the Demon realm, but if not, then war will not be an issue once we rebuild.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

It's been quite a hectic life, I'll tell you; sometimes I do feel like I need some vacations and a damn break; maybe once the meeting is over, I will take some time to relax over at the beach or something I need to let lose a little I'm only human or witch if you catch my drift.

First, I died as a teenager in my original world after fleeing the invading Russians for months, running away without ever stopping until I got killed by a Russian soldier who looked too angry. I still wonder what went through his mind to be so enraged at me since I never killed anyone he knew.

After dying, I got reincarnated into another world by some strange creature that disliked it when I pronounced the name of god or at least the name of what I thought was my god at the time. Life was good, and it was all going well before I stupidly almost became a permanent slave. If it hadn't been for the invasion of the church, then the escape from the underground tunnels would've likely been harder.

That's where I met my only true friend when I first interacted with Veronica, who I still think hides all of her trauma behind a false mask of overconfidence. Who knows what sort of things she has seen, but I beg to differ. If hiding her past makes her feel better, then I shall keep that a secret.

I do remember, however, how she once told me she was some sort of sex slave or something like that, which would be horrible if true. In any case, Veronica is much better now, clearly not the same one I met in the tunnels as Veronica begged me to kill her at one point.

The Witch Nation went up in flames after the humiliating defeat of the Queen, but by challenging Julius back then, I bought the Queen enough time for her to safely teleport everyone alive to other places without Julius being able to stop her.

I guess Julius hated that, and that's why he chose to beat me up this last time, but if that is genuinely why he almost mauled me to death, then even more reason I must find a way to defeat that asshole once and for all. My clear enemy is set in stone, and his name starts with a Ju and ends with a lius.

The world cannot move forward with that guy around, and while I did get my ass beaten, it is also clear that my power can overrule his if I desire it enough. The power that comes from the abyss is clearly different than other types of magic as it doesn't seem to come from magicules like everyone else's power but from within myself; perhaps the key to unlocking more power is to dive in deeper on how it works.

[Correct: Dark magic works off your connection to the dark realm]

The voice inside my head suddenly responds to one of my internal questions, interrupting my monologue following a weird glow from the diadem on my head, which soon speaks to me again.

[As part of the title of 'Witch princess,' you have acquired a new skill named 'Great sage,' which is me.]

The voice again reacts to my obvious question about it before I even get the chance to ask about it. So, great sage, uh? Would this skill randomly make me attack my friends, or was this a better version? I had to know.

[I'm not like sage mode. Great sage is an assistant-based skill meant to help you answer your questions using the knowledge stored within the Crown; I'm therefore outside the system since my knowledge and power come from the Crown.]

So, if I gave the crown to Veronica, would she get you as well?

[No, because she is not qualified to be a Queen in the slighest]

Damn, that was a little too brutal...
