I've managed to avoid death thanks to an invention Pan made for me back a few years ago, yet as things stand, I better keep a low profile if I wish to live. I've been blending inside the demon king's lines as another one of their soldiers with some illusion magic and a good disguise, but I need to get out of their jurisdiction as soon as possible.

From what I've heard, that Monster Julius is still around, and it sounds like he's already disposed of the Elf Patriarch, the demon King, and as far as he knows me. I know of a way to defeat such a monster, but I better take it slow, for my power is significantly reduced as the machine could only store so much of my soul and magic simultaneously.

I've also checked the list of living Witches and can confidently say that we've never been closer to total extinction. Around ten thousand witches were living under my jurisdiction at our golden age. Still, after Julius and the relentless persecution of the church, we've been reduced to less than a hundred.

So many of us have died during this war, and while it pissed me off not to be able to do much yet, I swear I will be the one who sees the life leave that Monster's eyes. The world is more unstable than ever without us as the global hegemon. At least someone else already has the position to replace me, so I won't be too easy to trace.

I should probably check who the new candidate is, but I doubt it's someone I would've named my successor, as most of my candidates died during the war or after the escape I granted them. So, who is the new Witch Leader that the crown chose to replace me?

What the hell? Is that the kid I thought would become trouble as she grew up? To think I even planned to kill her before she reached maturity so she wouldn't destroy the world. It seems like my prediction about them was wrong, though. Yet, can I trust her not to lose domain over Darkness? I still doubt that.

It's quite an impressive list of feats, however. I must place some hope into that list and take it as a sign that she can control it, but it wouldn't be too cautious to keep an eye on her as she reaches puberty.

Dark power is strong and corrosive, but as one of the only people who has encountered deeply compressed magic like that, I can say for sure that it can also quickly destroy the world and possibly even our universe if let loose. Even Queen Elizabeth feared its wrath.

I just have to place my bets on Yoimiya and hope she can keep control of that malignant energy, or we will all perish at her hand.
