So, I'm a witch, so what?
Interlude: Not so impartial

Interlude: Not so impartial

The gathering of the nations at the summit of the world had one purpose in mind. Ever since the world got their announcement, everyone has become a little more excited, as if they were all waiting for some fun to occur.

The world tournament is an event this world takes part in every five hundred or so years, with the people of my world always looking forward to maintaining our winning streaks. My world has literally never lost a single world tournament, which, as legends mark, has happened more than ten times in a row.

The heroes representing our world are simply the top of the crop and the best at what they do in their specialty fields; in my case, I am the strongest melee fighter, reserved for only the top dogs the other world might have. I will easily chew through their powers and magic barriers with no issues.

I do not personally have anything against the heroes I defeat. Neither did the heroes that fought for my planet before me, but if the rules say only one world will survive, well, I am sorry I will have to kill you for the sake of my world; it's just following the rules, man, don't hate the players hate the game and it's creators.

Since we are the world that has fought the most amount of worlds in a row, our advantage is the biggest when it comes to information since hero traits tend to be similar no matter what world you're on, so our knowledge about how the other heroes operate is a huge part as to why we keep winning.

Yet the reason for the meeting this time is because we have been given information regarding the enemy and their hero selection, which apparently doesn't include anyone with a holy weapon at all but regular people who don't seem like much trouble.

The leaders of all big nations are gathered here, as well as the other holy weapon heroes I will fight along with, but I can't help but feel weird since politics have never been my strong side; I don't talk my problems out; I pulverize them.

"Toshiro, since you're the strongest from our side, we have a task for you." Says the King from the Boxeana republic, King Jeffrey. "What is it?" I ask in return as I prepare for the request from my country of origin. "Would you go onto the enemy world and spy a bit for us? We know we are asking too much, but we need to gather as much intel as possible, especially with one of their candidates."

All the leaders from all other nations nod along with the King, to which I respond with a simple nod and a grunt since I don't feel like saying yes. "Alright, I got it. If it's intel you guys need, then send me down there. I will spy on whoever, so who is my target?" The King opened a display to show me and the others what I requested. The person I would spy on was a kid.

"A kid?" I naturally ask as soon as I see the screen, but once the King starts displaying their feats, I can see why they would want me to check them out, mainly because they have been in that world presumably for a very short amount of time of merely a couple of years.

"Yes, we acquired this information through the generosity of the god of destruction, Veldora, who has placed all his bets on us; they say this kid is the most dangerous threat to us, so we would like you to investigate more about them."

So much for an impartial system of judges, gods of destruction were not supposed to be handing down intel like that, but hey, as long as we won, I didn't care. As far as the kid was concerned, I would become their best friend if I had to, for the good of my world.
