So, I'm a witch, so what?
Interlude: The Demon Empire strikes

Interlude: The Demon Empire strikes

{Low of Solipsism I - Yoshihisa Hirano}

The world stage has been disturbed by humanity, leaving a power vacuum I couldn't resist taking advantage of. Anyone in my shoes would've done the same. I'm simply lucky enough to be the last global powerhouse remaining.

With the help of my demon force army and my crushing power, I've already pushed humans far away from the previously held witch forest. The elves seem to have defeated the church's powerhouse, leaving the door open for me.

I've dreamed about the explanation for so long, and today, we've made history by settling a sizeable new domain in the Witch forest, pushing humans as far back as their city walls. My Kingdom will rise again and become the empire it once was! The Witches are finally out of the equation!

With them out of the way, only the elves stood a chance, but since their numbers also reached critical lows, I doubt they will even try to fight us! What a fantastic path has been laid for us to take! Humanity has put down a red carpet for demon domination, and I'll gladly take it. Thank you very much!

"Mam, the church of the divine voice is sending a messenger. What should we do?"

"Kill the messenger. I will not negotiate with anyone. This is revenge for the eons of power suppression humanity has applied to us. It's humanity's turn to fear for their lives, don't you agree?"

"Hail Empress MAKIMA!"

The charts mark an excellent path to victory over humanity with their problems. I doubt they will regroup into a big alliance to defeat me, which puts them at checkmate thanks to our quick expansion, yet I can't help but notice that spec in the map.

The monster republic has only existed for a couple of months now, and they've already claimed a massive chunk of humanity's previous landmass. Yet I don't see anyone powerful from the Monster kingdom, nor do my scouts, yet how they have expanded in the middle of hostile human territory is unknown.

It's no big problem. I'll simply try to form an alliance with them if it comes down. I doubt the Monster Republic will not have bitterness against humanity as a whole, aside from the fact that we demons count as monsters in the eyes of humans.

The best thing that could've happened, however, was the inhalation of the Witch Queen and the Elf patriarch that would've stopped me if I ever tried to expand outside my arid borderlines. I swear people think we already have a ton of territory, but most of it is useless, arid land that produces nothing.

We've fallen behind in technological power thanks to our useless land, lacking the minerals and food to develop as a prosperous nation. Still, now that we have access to an ample supply of natural resources, it'll be a matter of time before we catch up.

Yet, since there seems to be no pushback from any god or global power, I can't help but wonder if I can really take over the entire human world just to spite them, even if for a short amount of time since there wouldn't be enough demons to keep everything in check.

It is one thing to defeat city army after city army with ease and a very different thing to keep ruling that same place forever. People will riot and try to overthrow you, and you can't put them down with stretched-out numbers. Perhaps I should take as much as I can now and move with prudence.

The Witch forest is now ours since there isn't a single witch alive anywhere near this place. So their land has permanently become ours, and even though it looks destroyed, it still hosts a ton of magical stone and other valuable mineral resources, so it's not entirely useless.

"Mam, there's another messenger comboy coming, but this time from the Monster Republic. Should we hear them?"

"Yes, I am open to talking with them; they're not so different from us. After all, we share a common enemy."

With that, my assistant leaves again while I try to spot the so-called comboy from my newly constructed balcony at the previous Witch Queen office. It took me a few minutes, but I finally spotted the carriages full of robust magical signatures, which tells me the Monster Republic took this seriously.

Fine then, if they want to flex power, I shall do it too. With this new simple-minded mentality, I get back into my new office to get dressed in my newly forged soul metal armor tailored just for me and to my specific liking. It was pretty expensive, but I just stole millions of Eris's worth of land. Let me flex a little, will you?

{Vita - Yugo Kanno}

Minutes passed, and I finally made my way to the new forest gate to wait for the carriages to arrive since I wanted to leave a good impression on our possible new allies.
