So, I'm a witch, so what?
Interlude: A mother in search of their child

Interlude: A mother in search of their child

It's been about a year since the separation of my daughter and me, and every day, I keep searching for her. I don't know where Yoimiya is, but I must find her and help her grow. I can't help but feel an empty void in my heart without her. It's like I've lost my life but am forced to be in limbo until I find her.

I've looked everywhere, but I still don't see any traces of her; the last rumor I heard could be her, but I doubt she has become so prominent unless her goal is to make herself look as visible as possible so that I may have an easier time finding them in which case I should head northwest to the land of flame.

As to what happened to the other witches, I know of a few that are trying to regroup near the lands of the Kingdom of Merenia, and others are also heading to the lands of the Nation of Flames since those two nations are the only ones not immediately hostile toward us, the rest of the world isn't safe at all for us.

I also must find that Japanese fellow, Pan, I believe his name was. I remember not telling him back then, but I do know where some valuable ruins with ancient texts are since I used to be an adventurer before dedicating myself to the cooking craft.

Strangely enough, this otherwordly language, Pan, which is called 'Japanese,' is not very well studied in my world. The only reason I know it so well is that I was an adventurer before settling down as a homestay mom.

One of my party members used to be from that other world, and he did not speak any language other than the strange one; as a witch then, it became my job to try and translate for him, and in return, he taught me all about his tongue while he learned ours as well.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

They used to go by 'The Twilight Sword,' if I remember correctly. In any case, the guy was powerful; he was so strong my party didn't want to let him go, which is why I forced myself to try and understand him. Ultimately, we both became good friends, albeit I don't know where he might be now.

Maybe I will meet him again sometime soon? I don't know, but what is sure is that I will head northwest to the land of flame, where I heard the vague rumor of a child who is able to wield an immense amount of power and who is also known as the 'Saint of the North.'

The whole saint thing is what makes me doubt this child is my daughter since Witches cannot obtain any sort of saint power since the world does consider us 'unholy.' The whole idea of a witch being considered holy would be like if a demon were to become Pope.

At my current pace, I should be there sometime within the next week since I am placing all my bets in the Flame Kingdom to be a friendly territory anyway. Yet, as I move along in my dragon, I soon receive a shocking notification from the system voice.

[New Witch Queen candidate has been chosen]

Well, it looked like somebody had become worthy of the crown; I did wonder, however, who could it be? Out of the remaining witches I'd seen, I didn't particularly meet with any strong ones or ones with many tricks or illusion spells, so I did wonder who it could be.

"Alright, show me the name and information of this new Candidate, please," I say to the world system, which responds almost instantly with a minimum delay, as it always takes a little while to load such requests.

[Current Witch Princess available data: Name = Yoimiya. Powerlevel = B rank]

What? Had my daughter become it? How was that even possible?! Could it be possible that my daughter really is the Saint of the North and also the new Witch princess?! I mean, I trust the Princess decree since only the crown can send such a global message like that to all Witches, but just what has this kid been up to all this time!? I admit I am proud and also relieved at least they are alive and doing very well, it seems, by the news.
