Chapter 42: Meeting a God

Chapter 42: Meeting a God

Three months went by in John's peaceful life of never leaving the library. He had essentially turned it into his room.

The number of people breaking the rules of the library had decreased to none now. People that used to 'borrow' books, became nonexistent.

John was always using spiritual sense, covering the entire library. Nothing could escape his sight.

"Does he have eyes in the back of his head!?"

Everyone came to know the terror of John.

They felt like he was omnipotent! Nothing escaped his eyes.

Some people had tried to prank him a few times. But he always saw through their tricks.

John's work hours were unrealistic. He was on duty 24/7. This was a problem, even for him.

Because he wanted to try to enchant his medium in privacy. He had Xavier buy it for him. John never left the library. He planned to try to tap into the matrix while in the library.

Nothing could go wrong... right?

John held the ring in his hand as he visualized the magic circle in his mind.

He then mumbled:

"Esteemed creator Mer. Mother of the Matrix. Birther of Magic. Wielder of the keys of Infinity. I request a blessing!"

The library instantly turned into energy as it shot away from him. He was left floating in space. He then saw a lady sitting on a white throne.

He kept his composure. But in his mind he was thinking:

"Isn't something like this only suppose to happen when forming your point mass!?"

John grasped his hands.

"Interesting. It is similar to my mental body in the afterlife. An ordinary body."

He began to start the steps needed to crack this realms formation!

John then felt a pressure so intense that he almost forgot to breathe.

He felt more pressure then when he went through ten times the gravity!

John then noticed something scary.

"My private consciousness? It's gone!"

This could mean three things.

He had disconnected this phantom soul from his system. Or this soul had been sealed by an entity. Or both.

Luckily, he had used soul domain and had made his soul an infinite maze. Otherwise, he would really be at the mercy of whatever the hell this lady in front of him was.

This person should be Mer! The creator of this world's magic matrix.

"Hello Lucas."

"She doesn't see through my real identity? Good."

John bowed.

"Greetings, Mer."

"Your reaction is interesting. Normally, people grovel at my feet when they see me."

"I'm not normal."

"I can see that. Your comprehension of magic is unfathomable. But you haven't even started to walk down the path of magic. Why did I feel danger when I was about to bless your medium?"

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

"This question eluded me, so I spoke with Tempus. He told me that he couldn't comprehend your fate. Do you have any idea how dangerous you are?"

"Me? I'm harmless!"

"My instincts tell me to kill you right here and now. But my intuition tells me that I will regret this decision. What would you do in my position?"

"I would make sure that I am safe first. I would eliminate the threat, if it could not be controlled."

"So you're saying I should kill you?"

John smiled.

"Kill me if you dare. Just know, you will become an enemy."

"Right now, you have a choice. You can become I, Lucas's friend. Or you can become my enemy, and watch as I tear down your divinity."

Mer didn't realize that John was stalling.

You see. Normally, when he is disconnected from his private consciousness. A lot of his processing power would be gone. But the body he was using this time was special, well the soul at the very least. It had gone through tribulation in his universe.

His nascent soul was still here!

It was in this mental body.

He had to make do with what he had. So he from memory was constructing the operating system of the runic library as he talked with Mer.

Why would he do this? He was learning the formations of actual gods! He had the ability to understand even the most obfuscated runes.

Since this body had a nascent soul. It obviously was smarter then a body without one.

"You dare threaten me?"

The realm began to shake.

John had did it! He had stalled enough time. He ran Qi through his eyes from his nascent soul after engraving the runic library on it.

He saw a console with extremely complicated programming.

"It is not a threat. I merely speak the facts."

John began to move his fingers on a microscopic level editing the formation.

"Where does your confidence come from?"

"Nowhere, I'm just extremely cocky! So do you plan to kill me or not?"

"No. I have a better way to disable you."

"Oh? How is that?"

"You'll never get my blessing! You will be a mortal until the day you die."

"Oh, that's too bad. I was hoping we could be friends."

John then waved his hands and vanished.

He didn't teleport. He had forcefully altered the formation that controlled this realm. He had essentially made himself a virus.

Mer sat there on her throne confused.

"Where did he go? How did he leave my seal?"

She then had a flash in her eyes.

"Impossible!? He's messing with the foundation of the universe! No mortal could comprehend it. How can he openly edit or even see it?"

"Just who the hell are you?"

Mer immediately expelled John from her realm.

John appeared back in the library.

In his hands was a ring.

It hadn't been blessed by Mer. It had been blessed by himself!

John had calculated that Mer didn't personally bless every medium. So he had installed a protocol for himself. That would automatically bless his ring.

In the future, he wouldn't have to worry about getting Mer's permission to use the matrix! He could bless it himself.

He also had a mantra for this protocol to use it in the future for when he broke through to rank 1.

'Esteemed Creator Aternaz, father of formations. Birther of the One, the Two, and the Three. Wielder of Cultivation, King of The Ten thousand Things! I Pray to you!'

Mer's POV:

Mer felt extremely uneasy.

"Have I done something foolish? How dare a mortal threaten me!"

She asked Inves to look into the background of Lucas Aternaz.

"I want to know everything about him! Where he was born, who his parents are, who trained him."

Mer took out her infinity keys.

"Luckily, I know your identity. I can trap you forever."

She took one of her keys and placed it into the air, she then twisted it.

"I seal Lucas Aternaz!"

Immediately she saw a man appear in daoist robes.

"You dare try to seal me?"

"Who are you?"

"I'm Krugal Smite! I am the originator of magic! Hahaha... you must be Mer. I've been waiting for this moment since I transmigrated!"

"It couldn't be... "

Mer was surprised that Lucas had messed with the settings of her formation. So she assumed the guy in front of her was using micro movements to do the same!

"No, it's the same person! He's stalling for time!"

"Hahaha, you got me. My memories are fuzzy since I've transmigrated. But you should know, I am the true origin of magic! I will reclaim my place."

"Enough! I'll turn you to dust."

Tempus appeared.

He pointed his finger at Krugal.

"Experience millions of years in an instant!"

Krugal sat there and smiled.

Then Tempus spoke in shock.

"He isn't aging!..."

"You fool, I'm immortal!"

Mer and Tempus both spoke:

"Who are you!? What world did you come from? What do you want?"

"Me? I'm Krugal Smite! I come from an alternate reality... as for what I want? It is to explore the abyss of magic!"

Mer then said:

"I don't care how many times you change your identity. You will not have my blessing. You will remain a mortal!"

"Bitch! I'm immortal! You can seal me... but for how long? a million years... a billion years? I'll still be alive!"

Krugal Smite didn't know that the immortalize spell only lasted for a few hundred years, so he was extremely cocky.

----------------------------------------

John had no idea that he had confused the hell out of Mer with Lucas. All the trails leading to him had been covered!

John sat in the library waiting to be teleported or sealed.

"Hmm... I guess she couldn't track me? Weird. Quite a weak god!"
