John deeply missed operation phoenix.
At least that let him start with both parents! What sort of nonsense luck was this?
How was a newborn baby suppose to survive in this environment?
John laughed at his luck.
The reason he went through the process of reincarnating was just to become a native of the world.
He immediately tested his immortality.
He began to rapidly age.
He modified his brain, giving it spiritual roots as well as the chaos realm ability.
His skin became diamond grade.
His bones fairy grade.
Soon he was 10 years old.
He custom designed this body.
He brought his level to core formation.
He then moved his soul to the center of his core in his middle dantian.
"Fine! I didn't want parents anyways..."
"This should suffice. Now I just need an identity."
He used magic from his private consciousness to conjure clothes.
It was time for the moment of truth! Would the world will detect the incompatible magic and try to seal him?
This was a custom spell he had made due to being annoyed at having to constantly supply his new bodies. It was a surprisingly complex spell and was tier 4.
The world will didn't detect the abnormality! He was fine!
This was good news. Although, he likely couldn't make multiple bodies like he was used to. Since the new phantom souls would not be natives.
Well... he could probably make new bodies. They would just be limited and not able to use spells from his private consciousness, to avoid drawing the attention of the world will.
He wandered out of the alleyway he was born in.
He soon realized he couldn't understand anyone. This wasn't the same wizard world he had initially found.
He needed some targets to soul search. He used his spiritual sense to look around the town.
Due to his clothes, some thought he was rich.
His clothes did look quite amazing. They were designed like daoist robes from the cultivation world.
A purple robe with gold trims.
John saw the greed in the eyes of a group of men.
He intentionally wandered into an alleyway again. He was followed...
They spoke nonsense to him.
One of them pulled out a knife.
John grabbed the knife. The person holding it tried to pull it out of his hand. But it was as if it was stuck in a rock! He couldn't even move it an inch.
John's hands weren't even bleeding!
John spoke:
"It's good to be back."
He tapped the persons head with a bit of Qi and the person passed out.
His 'friends' ran away seeing this demon child.
John didn't kill him, he simply put him in a sleep as he searched his soul.
This kid was only 16 years old. He was actually rather well off. As in he had both parents, he just hung out with a bad crowd.
John saw this as the perfect identity.
He stripped 'Lucas'.
He swapped clothes with him and then took all of his memories as the foundation of his public consciousness.
He then restructured his face and height.
Making it match Lucas.
He then scrambled the memories of Lucas.
He used his forbidden dao pillar to restructure the face of Lucas into his own.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
He planted a fake backstory into his mind.
He gave Lucas a new identity with more flavor.
John waited a few minutes to get to maximum mental energy. He then for the first time used his tier 7 spell 'immortalize'. Who did he cast it on? It was Lucas!
This spell was special just like his undead transformation spell. This spell made the person immortal. The duration was limited and the effect would disappear in a few hundred years.
This spell put a strain on the soul of its target. So after a few hundred years, you couldn't cast it again in order to live forever.
This spell was useless to John, but it was useful for others.
The spell required you to create a living object that would contain the life force of the person. In other words, just like the undead transformation spell. This spell required a phylactery.
So what did John choose for Lucas's phylactery? He made it Lucas's heart!
As long as his heart wasn't completely destroyed. Lucas would live for hundreds of years. Although his immortality wasn't at the same level of John's. He couldn't for example make other bodies. Or control his body composition.
The difference between John's immortality and the immortality given by the immortalize spell. Was that John's could be controlled to the tiniest detail.
Lucas would forcefully recover from any injuries. But, he wouldn't have a choice in the matter.
You might be wondering why John would give someone he just met this power? Someone who tried to rob him...
Well, John did it for a few reasons.
The main reason was to 'pay' Lucas for stealing his life.
He was giving Lucas a far grander goal. He was also giving him temporary immortality.
"From now on, you are Krugal Smite! Someone who transmigrated from another world due to a temporal explosion. It was from an experiment to acquire immortality! The results? Success!"
"Thank you for the identity. I will treasure it!"
Now John would be pretending to be Lucas!
John stabbed Krugal with his knife.
Lucas woke up and laughed evilly!
"You think you can cripple this great wizard!? I'll show the world exactly who they are messing with!"
He ripped the knife from Johns hands driving it deeper into himself.
He grimaced, and then pulled out the knife covering the ground in blood.
His wound then healed in an instant!
"It was a success! I've become immortal!"
"You!?"
John pretended to be afraid.
Krugal looked at John like he was looking at an ant.
"I'll let you live this time. Don't rob people in the future. Next time, I won't go so easy on you!"
John stuttered:
"Yes. I won't do it again!"
John ran for his life.
When he ran out of the alleyway. His friends saw that he was alright, they ran up to him.
"What happened to that demon child?"
"It turned out he was a wizard! He let me off with a warning. But we need to stop robbing people from now on."
Everyone gasped!
They had ran into a real wizard... they were lucky to be alive!
"Where did he go?"
They then saw Krugal walk out of the alley wearing a beautiful purple robe with gold trims.
He laughed and disappeared into the crowd.
But afterwards Krugal became confused.
"Why don't I remember my spells? I don't remember even the basics of being a wizard! The explosion must of scrambled my memories. I'll have to start over in this world. So be it."
He also looked into a mirror.
"It seems the explosion not only transmigrated me. But it also caused me to become younger! Interesting. Likely a side effect of the immortality."
Krugal was excited to explore this new world!
John continued to pretend to be Lucas.
John began to practice martial arts.
These were the exercises from the first world he awoke in.
The stages were skin refinement, blood refinement, skeletal refinement, organ tempering, and energy drawing.
He obviously didn't practice organ fusion as it would mess with his meridians.
He didn't need to use energy drawing either. He mainly practiced to familiarize himself with his body and combat. It to was to have a valid reason for his strong body.
In reality, he didn't need to exercise, as he would remain in peak form as long as he wanted.
His friends became interested. So he taught them the basic skin refinement exercise. Soon they reached the leather realm.
John found out this world didn't have martial artist or cultivators.
It had knights and wizards!
John had convinced them to stop robbing people.
He became a good influence among this group of people, they had a wake up call from running into a wizard. They soon got jobs working as handyman. Doing labor.
When John went to visit Lucas's parents. They asked if he was alright.
"I'm fine... what's wrong?"
His father spoke to him.
"The feeling you give off is totally different. It is domineering! It looks like you finally learned something from your old man."
His father then told him some good news.
"I know you have been obsessed with wizards recently. I heard there will be an acolyte doing a recruitment campaign for their school in a month. It is in this town. I know you like to live by yourself, but you can stay with us until the test."
His father expected him to reject him like he normally did. But he didn't!
"Really? Then I'll have to inconvenience you!"
"Hahaha. It won't be a problem at all!"
His father's face turned serious:
"I hear the test isn't free. You have to pay a gold coin!"
John then realized something... why didn't he try to make money when he did the recruitment campaign? But that would've put a bigger barrier to entry, so it would've took even longer to recruit 100 disciples.
So he figured that wouldn't have been worth it.
But he figured this person doing the test, wasn't doing it out of the goodness of their heart. It was probably a task forced on them.
As for why they required a gold coin? Maybe it was just to lessen the work they had to do, by creating a bigger entry fee.
"I worked overtime to save up for this. Think of it as a gift."
His father handed him a pouch containing 100 silvers.
"Thanks!"
"Don't mention it. If you become a wizard, our family will be set for generations!"
Soon a month passed.
His father came into his room to remind him of the test.
He saw John on standing on on two fingers with his body upside down. He was doing a weird push up with his whole body.
His father was very surprised.
"When did you become so strong!? Who taught you how to exercise like this?"
"I saved a random old man from starving. He began to train me in a mysterious technique. My physique went through a qualitive change. He taught me a secret knight technique."
John lied as easily as he breathed.
His father gasped.
"Can I learn too?"
"Sure."
John taught Lucas's father the basics of skin refinement.
"How long will it take for me to get to that insane level?"
John was at diamond grade. The legendary level of skin refinement.
Unless you trained by boiling yourself in oil and fire. It would take centuries to reach his level!
"Maybe 10 years or so?"
His father was even more impressed.
"I'll give it my all then!"
His father could already imagine himself supporting his entire body with a single finger. His wife would love it!
His father began to practice with him in his room.
John had accomplished a minor goal here. He had a sketchy way to explain his physique.
He doubted anybody would look into his body composition. But John wasn't someone who liked to take chances.
Soon it was time to get tested.
