Chapter 15: Entrance

Chapter 15: Entrance

The crowd was then directed by a nascent soul cultivator. Everyone was split into groups. Each group was led by a core formation expert. Generally, the groups were made up of 26 people each.

There was one core formation, five foundation building and twenty people in qi condensation.

Everyone was permitted to go back to their rooms to pack supplies.

John made sure to pack extra sets of clothes for his rogue body later.

He then met with his group.

John looked at the group of people he was with.

Someone recognized him.

"If it isn't the cultivation maniac. John Destinatus huh? I always thought you had a weird name."

"I'm named after my grandfather..."

The person spoke to the rest of the group.

"He should be cannon fodder. He spends all of his time cultivating, but none of his time practicing martial arts. What fighting power could a flower grown in a greenhouse have?"

John just shook his head.

He had nothing to prove to these kids.

The core formation expert looked at John with contempt.

He couldn't help but think:

"He doesn't even stand up for himself! A coward and a waste."

They lined up and traveled out the sect. They were handed communication talismans.

"The inheritance entrance is suspected to open within the next week. If you find it, use the talisman to contact me. It'll show us your location, and we'll be able to report back to the patriarch."

After they were far away from the sect.

John began to walk away from the group.

"What are you doing?"

"I have to use the bathroom..."

"..."

"Don't get lost!"

Once John was far enough away.

He pinched his fingers and shot blood out of them.

A naked person formed from the ground.

"You are Throwaway01."

They also had his cultivation! He had succeeded in carrying the progress over in a new body.

He took off his backpack and gave the other body some clothes... it was still barefoot though as he didn't bring another pair of shoes.

John then walked back to the group.

"That was quick..."

"I just had to take a piss."

In reality, John never needed to use the bathroom. His immortality could expel any impurities in his body. Just like how it expelled the poison from his body when he first took over. It could also create matter from his soul as long as he had a flesh anchor. Manipulating waste wasn't a problem.

The core formation stopped abruptly.

"We are being followed."

John did indeed have the other person follow the group as he looked for the inheritance in the surroundings. He didn't expect to be found out so soon.

"It's just one person, they seem to be in Qi Condensation."

"They are wearing the robes of our sect. Show yourself!"

Throwaway01 laughed.

"Who are you?! Why have you separated from your group?"

"I am the origin of magic! I am the legendary Tho Awa!"

"Tho Awa?"

Throwaway01 used flash.

Blinding everyone except for John who had closed his eyes in time.

Throwaway01 then teleported away.

This time casting an illusion on itself and hiding its breath.

The core formation expert was confused.

"It must be a nascent soul expert pretending to be the sheep to eat the tiger."

He couldn't help but wonder, why did he run away?

"Carve this lesson into your hearts, not every weakling is a true ant. Some are just hiding their level of cultivation."

They then began to continue searching for the entrance to the inheritance.

An entire week passed with no luck.

Everyone was exhausted.

They had barely had any time to sleep and rest.

"John? Aren't you tired?"

John spoke:

"Ever since I was a kid, I have been as strong as a bull. I don't tire easily."

John could go decades without sleeping, not to mention a mere week. This was just treated as a break for him.

Unfortunately, it seemed he didn't have the luck of a protagonist.

He was unable to find the entrance in time.

Because someone else had found it!

Many flares were shot into the sky.

The expert guiding everyone calculated the location of the ruins.

They didn't act yet though. He waited until he got confirmation from his superior on what to do.

They were given permission to explore!

"Remember, everything you find must be reported. Only after figuring out your contribution, will you be rewarded."

The group began to run at full speed toward the center of the flares.

There was a white staircase leading to the sky with a glass door covered in runes.

"Everyone! Line up! The trial has begun..."

They weren't the only ones that had rushed over.

Instead of it being an orderly line, the area was crowded with people from different sects.

Fighting broke out.

John was forcefully separated from the group.

He was surrounded by ten others with similar cultivation to himself.

They tried attacking him.

But his strength was stupidly overpowered.

Before he became a cultivator, he could burst out with 100% of his strength since he didn't care about tearing his muscles.

After his muscles had been nourished with Qi.

It had gone through a qualitative transformation.

He crushed the fist of someone that had tried to punch him.

He threw them like a puppet whose strings had been cut, knocking a few other people to the ground.

"Help!"

John ducked dodging a spear attack.

Someone tried to slash him with a sword.

He caught it with his fingers.

He still had diamond grade skin!

"What!? You are also a body refiner?"

"Maybe."

John ripped off the persons head spraying blood everywhere.

He then looked at the others surrounding him.

They ran away!

He looked off into the distance at the chaos. Everyone was scrambling and pushing each other to try to climb up the steps.

He sat down on the ground and ignored it all.

He then focused his attention on Throwaway01.

Tho Awa flew through the fighting, he wasn't the only one that could fly. He was intercepted by foundation establishment cultivators. But he teleported around them as if they were children.

He made it to the white staircase.

He casted a magic barrier blocking it off. Everyone glared at him as he casually walked up the stairs. They tried to follow, but a magical barrier seemed to seal off the entrance.

Tho Awa noticed that there was a pressure on his spiritual roots as he walked up the stairs.

The pressure grew so intense that it tore his pineal gland, causing damage to his brain. This didn't really effect him though, it could be restored with his immortality, not to mention this being a throw away body.

There were a hundred steps.

He eventually made it to the glass door that seemingly went to nowhere. It refused to open for him.

"I see... only the creator of this inheritance can access the door."

Tho Awa tried a few things as his magic barrier shattered from the attacks and people rushed up the stairs.

They then noticed the spiritual roots would become damaged if one went up too fast. So they had to walk a step, wait a few minutes and walk another step.

"Did he really throw away his future cultivation just to be the first to reach the door? What an idiot!"

"He doesn't have the method for opening it, you have to be an expert in formations to crack it! Our sect is going to be the first inside, now GO!"

Tho Awa ignored everything around him as he slowed down his perception of time and tried various spells to open the door.

He then realized that the door had a soul! He searched through the memories of the door and found the image of the true immortal. As well as the password the door was waiting for.

He used creature illusion to change his appearance into the true immortal.

"Wait! That's the reincarnation of the true immortal! I thought he died? He is going to beat us to it. Screw waiting, hurry up! Before we miss the chance!"

Tho Awa whispered:

"The Password is 'grass will never reach the peak'."

The door opened and Tho Awa walked in and closed it.
