It was an ordinary day like any other. Until a tear in reality was opened. It was above the city. It looked beautiful.

Various news stations captured the event.

Then a human stepped out of the portal. He was flying in the sky. The cameras zoomed in on his face and he was frowning.

This world was quite advanced... There also existed legends of cultivators. But cultivators lived in the immortal level of the mortal realm.

There were five main types of existence in this world.

First, you must know how this world was born. This universe started like almost any other. It was primordial chaos encapsulated in an egg. There was originally nothing.

There was an egg of chaos. Within this egg was a natural spirit named Wuji. He broke out of the egg and took rein, controlling both yin and yang.

It was through Wuji that the heavens and earth planes were created. But he was not the creator of humanity.

He was the creator of an infinite calculation. He filled the earth and heavens with heavenly treasures in the form of plants and stones.

Wuji explored the endless universe looking for others like himself. He grew bored and wished to not be alone.

So he created the first deity.

Her name was Renlai. It was her that created humanity. Wuji and Renlai found that humans were interesting, but primitive.

Naturally, Wuji and Renlai watched the humans as a form of entertainment. It was then that Wuji created another deity. This one was called Dongwu.

It was him who finely crafted the myriad of beast. Putting pressure on humanity and driving them to improve. During the development of humanity. Wuji would visit in the humans. So they took on aspects of the gods. Developing culture, wearing clothes, cooking food.

A god by the name of Wenhua was born. He taught the humans how to respect their elders and how to not bring shame to their ancestors.

All of the gods then met up.

In a lavish castle in the heavens. Wuji sat on a throne surrounded by Renlai, Dongwu, and Wenhua.

They discussed the future of the universe. Wenhua spoke about the limitless possibilities of humanity. How there should be endless gods and that the dao should be passed on to the humans.

Wuji disagreed about passing on the dao. As it was the only barrier that separated the humans from the deities.

Wuji was something of a natural spirit. While those he created were gods.

What those gods created were mortals.

By giving mortals a dao. The path to divinity opens up.

Up until this point. The heavens had been living in harmony with the earth. One could easily visit the angels and guardians of the heavens as easily as breathing.

The disagreement in terms of ideologies triggered a war between Wuji and his creations.

Wuji was far too strong to be beaten by his creations. But his heart wasn't so firm. He was so sad at the betrayal that he made a declaration.

"The heavens and earth will forever be separated. There will be no more Wuji."

He was attacked by the gods and shattered giving birth to hundreds of gods at once. All of various concepts. The heavens were permanently damaged and humanity suffered its first catastrophe.

They lost the blessing of the gods. They could no longer easily visit the heavens. The gods wished to help humanity, but they were separated by Wuji's declaration.

Beast began to become the hunters.

Before the gods and humans interacted with each other. But after Wuji's death. They were never able to leave the heavens. Humanity began to doubt their existence as they faced for the first time plagues and famine. Floods and tornadoes.

Natural disasters.

Since Wuji maintained both yin and yang. Upon his death the earth was split into two separate realms.

Humanity continued to keep its tradition and pray to the gods for blessings. But they hardly ever got a response.

Humanity suffered from many ailments that didn't exist when the gods walked among them.

Renlai couldn't stand the sight of what humanity was becoming. So she ignited some embers for humanity and sacrificed herself to pass on the dao to two of her followers in the mortal realm.

They had learned about the 'Dao'.

This was something meant to allow one to go against the heavens! To go against Wuji's declaration! It was a method of cultivation that could allow one to become their own god. It was taboo.

Renlai went into a deep slumber from the backlash. She was never heard from again.

The people that received her teachings spread the method all around the world. But one found that the environment lacked usable Qi.

The mortal realm was split into two levels.

You had the mortal level. It was impossible to cultivate on this level.

You had the immortal level. This is where it was possible to cultivate. Everything from the food to the air contained Qi that could be circulated.

You then had the heavens. This is where all the deities lived. It was separated by Wuji's declaration.

There was a problem. The mortals had no idea how to leave the first level and break into the cultivation level of the mortal realm.

Some were just lucky and were born in the cultivation level. There had been remnants of humans even when the realms had been split from Wuji's death.

Over millions of years. Some legendary heroes of history had been blessed by the mountains and rivers and had stepped past the barrier of the mortal realm. Forever touching upon the heavens.

The only time a normal mortal would reach the heavens was upon death. When their soul was on its way to reincarnation.

You can consider the heavens as the world will in a sense.

There were five main types of existences in this world.

Natural Spirits like Wuji (The highest level that can't be reached).

Deities (Basically gods).

Mythological Creatures (Supernatural Beings)

Hidden Existences (Gods, but they aren't restricted to the heavens)

Cultivators (Humans that have started on the path of immortality)

You also had mortals.

John would be considered a 'hidden existence' with his skeletal body and Infinite Maze. You could perhaps even think of him as a natural spirit because of his concept.

But he lacked the power of one.

Humanity developed exponentially and became quite advanced. The cameras captured the floating man in the sky as people watched on in amazement.

The person was dressed in purple robes and had a pendant around his neck.

"Hello humans. I am Yz'yze. I am here with good news. Our master wishes to be reborn. He has picked this world."

Everyone was confused. What was this person talking about? They couldn't understand a single word. It was a different language after all. But the intent was captured perfectly. But what was this about their world getting picked? A master?

Yz'yze stood there waiting for a response.

"Bring me to your world will."

Everyone had no idea what he was talking about.

Yz'yze was annoyed at their reactions. So he flicked his fingers and blew the entire city up. Almost everyone in it died.

"Useless."

Wherever Yz'yze went. He was then treated as an enemy.

But nothing worked against him.

The way this universe operated was quite differently then other worlds. The weird design was likely the cause for its high time conversion.

The immortal level overlapped the mortal level. So it was impossible for Yz'yze to know about it.

But because the world was quite advanced. Most had forgotten about the gods that used to walk among them. But seeing the power displayed by Yz'yze. Humanity felt it needed a miracle.

This is where the Divergence Department came into play.

They were established many years ago and had saved the history of the dark ages. They had tools from before Wuji's death. When the heavens and the earth were still connected.

They were the only ones capable enough to fight Yz'yze!
