2: Chapter 5: Subterranean World

John listened to the rank 3, but had to stop him from talking. He put his finger on the lips of the rank 3.

"Shhhhhh..."

Devil transformation wore off... John began to bleed from his eyes, nose, and ears. He coughed up some of his internal organs.

He then instantly healed. But he still looked quite bad.

The rank 3 looked at him.

"It seems, the victory was costly for you!"

John laughed. He then closed all seven of his seals.

"I may look bad. But had I wanted to I could of ended the battle in a single spell."

John wasn't lying here. He could of likely destroyed the principal with his tier 5 spell.

'Blackhole'.

John wasn't trying to kill the principal. He just wanted to get directions and find a high level wizard gathering point. He figured this information would be something the principal had.

He still was surprised at how strong the principal was. Although forcing the rank 3 to talk was actually a bit more difficult then killing him. He had to beat his secret cards.

John was completely surprised by the power the principal displayed after he destroyed the whorehouse.

It was as if the rank 3 had become invulnerable. Had the effect not worn off. John might of had to back off.

Luckily, John was immortal.

Truthfully, if he had to fight the principal without his immortality. He would've died many times.

The principal wasn't in great condition. It seemed as if he was close to death.

He casted a spell and a light thread appeared around his body.

"Please... carry me to my study..."

John picked up the principal and followed the thread.

Soon they were in his office.

The door refused to open... until the rank 3 casted a special spell.

He then crawled into the room and went into a cabinet.

He pulled out a tube of liquid. He drunk it.

John was blinded by a green light.

It seemed the vitality of the principal was restored in an instant.

He stood up.

"Now... what directions were you looking for?"

"Perhaps we can trade. I would like to inquire about your recovery spell!"

John couldn't help but think.

"Recovery spell?"

Sure, he did indeed have those spells. But they were crap compared to his immortality.

"How did you manage to recover so quickly in the middle of battle?"

"I was born this way..."

"..."

"Fine, don't tell me! What did you want to ask?"

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Do you perhaps know the location of a high level wizard gathering point?"

"What do you mean?"

"A place where one could buy astral stones!"

"Hahahahha... you're serious?"

"You are what, rank 2? What could you use astral stones for? You lack control of the soul to explore the chaotic space! Only a rank 4 has a divine sense needed to explore the mysteries of the astral."

John had a spiritual sense. A divine sense was essentially the wizard worlds version of a spiritual sense.

John could explore the chaotic space and look for worlds.

He was completely capable.

In some aspects, a spiritual sense was superior! Using an astral stone would burn through mana by using the divine sense. The same was true for Qi. But John had a lot of Qi to burn through. The same couldn't be said for his mana supply.

"Do you know of a place or not?"

"With your strength, trying to acquire a astral stone... it is suicidal. But I do know of a place..."

"Explain!"

"We are currently on the first layer of this world. There is a subterranean world below us."

John remembered when his soul had traveled to the core of the world. There was indeed multiple levels to the world. The strongest existences harvested essence from the world will itself. They lived on the lowest levels. This is where the most resources were concentrated.

"I don't recommend you visit the lower levels. The average person is a rank 1 wizard in the subterranean world. It is full of warlocks with insane bloodlines. They are born as acolytes as babies and are rank 1 as grown ups. Not to mention. Some of them through their life cycle become rank 5 or 6. In this level, we are nothing but ants."

John was confused. He had teleported a kilometer below the academy to build his lab. There was nothing but solid ground there.

"How far below is the subterranean world?"

"Hmm... the first layer is probably about 20 kilometers below us. Why?"

John's mana was limited. He didn't plan to spam teleports to try to land at the perfect sweet spot. He would take the traditional path to the subterranean world.

"Where is the entrance?"

The principal frowned.

"Obviously, the subterranean world is sealed! Otherwise how would be safe from those monsters below us?!"

"How did you know about this world then?"

"My father of course! You think I could survive that place? A rank 3 there is just a slightly bigger ant."

John was very interested in the subterranean world.

But John was annoyed at the lack of information.

"Do you have any records of the lower levels?"

"I do..."

The principal went through some cabinets and pulled out a file.

"Here you go."

John put the map into his storage dimension.

He then teleported away.

Teleport was another spell that John could use.

It was tier 5.

This meant he could use it four times before running out of mental energy.

He would need to teleport to the correct level of the first level of the subterranean world.

He had never been to this level, so he lacked any type of coordinates. All he had to rely on was direction and feeling.

He began the process trying to teleport. He teleported 20 kilometers below the surface. But he just ended up teleporting into solid rock.

"Annoying."

John then got an idea.

He teleported into the principals office.

"The fuck... don't scare me like that!"

"Do you by chance have a map of various volcano locations?"

"Why would I have that?"

"..."

John was hoping he could find a volcano that went all the way from a lower level to the surface of this world.

"You are quite useless!"

"Says the person looking for random useless maps!"

John teleported above the academy and began to fly.

He went to a mountain valley.

"A true cultivator can boil the sea and split mountains!"

But 10,000 tons of force wasn't enough to split a mountain.

He wasn't a true immortal. Which had Qi at an explosiveness of millions of tons.

But he also had devil transformation!

He wasn't planning on splitting a mountain. He just needed to dig a hole that was 20 kilometers deep!

"Seven seals! OPEN!"

All of his seals unlocked.

He was now using the full power of his nascent soul!

"Devil Transformation!"

His strength was first multiplied by 10,000 times from unlocking his seals.

It was then further boosted by devil transformation! A hundred times.

He now had the strength of a megaton!

He charged into the ground from the top of the mountain and began to move through the earth like slicing through butter. No... it was as if the ground had become air!

As he went further and further. The ground started to shift.

He caused a small earthquake.

But he didn't stop!

His body crashed through aquifers and magma.

But he didn't stop!

After merely 30 seconds. He had entered the subterranean world! The hole he had made had completely closed itself from lacking supports.

But that didn't matter. He now had the location memorized.

He was quite high up. There were was a ceiling. But the ground was a few kilometers from it. He gracefully flew down.

He saw a town.

There were kids playing with magic outside the walls.

People were flying to and from the town.

There was a shield covering the entire town.

John soul searched a random kid and learned the language of this area.

He then flew through the barrier.

It was similar in nature to the system he had built for the Amalgamation Sect. The one he was an administrator for. Obviously, it was suppose to stop foreigners. But John wasn't a normal person. He infused Qi from his forbidden dao pillar and modified the formation as easily as one would snap their fingers.

Nobody noticed anything weird as flying was common here.

John landed in the town and began to ask around.
