2: Chapter 16: Talent Organ

2: Chapter 16: Talent Organ

John's group still had to be cautious. They were foreigners after all to this world.

Who knew what sort of innate abilities those at the top of this world had. Or what strange creatures they had under their control.

John didn't feel even a hint of greed.

As he had severed such emotions from this body.

"Firstly, we don't know if we are even 'chaos holders'. We need to get tested."

"For that. We will need an identity."

John laughed.

"Operation Phoenix!"

"What?"

"It's nothing... this is just nostalgic. I have you guys with me, so we are going to have to do something different. The memories of that homeless guy are limited. We lack the core mechanics behind the storage device and the methods needed to 'bond' with a creature."

John had methods from the wizard world of using slave contracts with beast. But that was entirely different.

This world allowed one to acquire an innate skill!

"We first need identities..."

John had them cast an invisibility spell as they seemingly vanished into thin air.

John then left the park with his group following him.

They were rank 3 mages, so everyone's base level physique was quite impressive.

John was however still rank 2.

But, did one need to worry about his level of power? If he undid his seals, he could generate 500,000 tons of force! Not to mention his transformation spells that could boost this.

They easily flew around the city for a day and a night noting down the habits of its occupants.

Once they found a target.

A rich fellow.

John soul searched him and tampered with his soul. Making him think they were part of his family.

He then had this man spend a decent chunk of money to acquire them proper fake identities.

It wasn't as perfect as operation phoenix.

But it was good enough!

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

They lived with the man named 'Horwitz Penny'.

He was a bachelor and didn't have a family. But his neighbors did mention the oddity of them. But he just brushed it off, and said they were family from overseas.

John, Vitality, Fate, and Pride went to get tested for their talents.

The results? They weren't chaos holders!

The excitement in his groups eyes vanished as they felt hopeless.

John cheered everyone up.

"Don't worry guys, this is your first time exploring a world. It's always like this. So what if we lack talent? Who are we? We are Deathless! If there is no talent. We'll simply dissect someone with talent, then through mysterious means steal their talent!"

"Mysterious means?"

"I have a method that allows me to reconstruct the body in any way I desire. All we need to do is get an example."

"Oh yea! Can't you possess them using your nascent soul?"

"Hmm... it is risky. But it might be possible."

John was unable to teleport since he couldn't use mental magic in this world.

But they instead made the base of their operations Horwitz's house.

At night... They would turn invisible and scout from apartment to apartment.

John would leave his body and takeover the bodies of unsuspecting victims.

He would then save the composition of their body for study later.

He then had an excellent idea.

Why not pull another 'Lucas Aternaz' and directly steal a proper identity.

Ideally someone who hasn't been tested publicly. Someone still in school.

Deathless had killed for far less after all.

But this would have to wait until after he figured out what constituted the talent of a chaos holder.

John was constantly going through the differences between the bodies.

He soon found the anomaly.

It wasn't a magic core exactly that chaos holders had. It was instead an entirely new organ in the brain.

As for the difference in ranks? This was determined by the shape of the organ.

The organ was partially crystalized, but also partly just flesh.

It was in different shapes.

He studied the soul of one of his victims and knew that they were C class.

As for the shape of the organ in their brain?

It looked like a drill.

But it had a shape on the top of it. This part was crystalized.

Through testing out other bodies. John found out a lot of information about the chaos holder organ.

It was extremely small. Only about a centimeter wide.

But the amount of sides it had seemed to determine the level.

John spent a month collecting data.

F class was a decagon.

E class was a nonagon.

D class was a octagon.

C class was a heptagon.

B class was a hexagon.

A class was a pentagon.

S class was a square.

John had gone through thousands of peoples bodies over this month. Deathless had followed him the entire time, protecting his body and guarding him.

It was a bit boring, but they didn't complain.

This was building the foundation for exploring this world!

John was unable to find an SS class person in the city they started at.

But he had a crazy theory.

"It seems the less sides they have. The more and higher tier creatures they are able to handle."

So John did something a little crazy.

He built a chaos organ with a circle!

Technically... a circle has no sides.

This would explain the infinite capacity.

John went to get tested once again.

The people that tested him originally recognized him.

But he paid the price, so they didn't say anything.

Something shocking happened.

"Impossible!? SS Class!"

John's theory had worked out!

He then went invisible and flew away.

They had to abandon that rich man, and get new identities.

John made sure to 'borrow' some money from him as they said their goodbyes.

John cut their connection to the soul through the Infinite Maze and constructed the chaos holder organ in their brains.

There was a problem though.

He planned for them to steal the identities of some high schoolers who had yet to be tested.

It would be a bit too shocking for three people to appear with SS class talent.

But John didn't care. So he constructed them SS class chaos organs.

Now they just needed to steal someone's identity.
