The first step to cultivation was awakening your spiritual roots. To do this you had to stimulate them. This was quite easy for John. He just teleported around his room, and focused on that feeling in the center of his brain.
But before he could fully awaken it. A nascent soul cultivator felt spatial fluctuations coming from his room. So they used their spiritual sense to spy on him. John felt as if he was being watched, so he stopped teleporting around.
John continued to feel as if he was being observed, so he had to stop his training. Meanwhile, the nascent soul cultivator was curious about him. He looked into his background, but found that it was just a waste from a servant family. His interest faded as it was impossible for this person to have had some fortuitous encounter, seeing as almost his entire family tree had never stepped foot outside the sect.
After the feeling of being watched disappeared. John continued to teleport around...
The same cultivator felt spatial fluctuations again. But they figured that something was wrong with their intuition. Seeing as there was no way for a mortal to mess with space.
Soon, John's spiritual roots reached 99% activation.
It was now time for him to practice cultivation!
He told the person at the book pavilion that he was ready to breakthrough to a cultivator.
He was then allowed an hour on the first floor to pick a technique, since he had space type spiritual roots, he tried to find a technique related to space. But, he was unable to find one.
So he picked a elementless technique that could be used by people of all elements.
It was called 'Baohan Rules'.
There were three parts to this technique.
It had cultivation for the lower, middle, and upper dantian.
John began to follow the first step of this technique. The first part was related to turning 99% awakening into 100%. Doing this would allow you to feel your dantians and the meridian network in your body.
John successfully broke through into a cultivator!
He unlocked something called a 'body sense'. This would later evolve into a spiritual sense.

He could observe the energy network in his body.
He could now observe his three dantians and thirteen meridians.
Baohan Rules stated that messing with the lower dantian could cause imbalances in the body. So the second step of this technique was a sealing technique.
You sealed the energy in your lower dantian so that it wouldn't leak or be used when using Qi. You would then over time strengthen this seal.
The third step was unblocking the meridians in your body with energy.
There were a total of 13 traditionally. That wasn't to say some couldn't find the others, these were just the brightest and easiest to find. Finding the other meridians would be like finding a needle in hay.
These meridians were located in the heart, lung, spleen, kidney, small intestine, large intestine, stomach, bladder, right hand, left hand, right foot, left foot, and the circulatory system
You can think of a meridian as a pathway for Qi.
All of the organs and systems are connected by an invisible matrix which becomes visible upon becoming a cultivator.
You can think of this entire system like the circulatory system, except ordinary people have a sort of 'blood clot' blocking their pathways.
John could see that all of his meridians were blocked.
He focused on guiding the Qi already in his middle dantian, the first meridian he attempted to unblock was the longest one. It was the circulatory system.
He wanted to go into closed door cultivation.
But it seemed that his immortality couldn't replenish his middle dantian's Qi reserves.
So he had to make sure to eat nourishment pills from his monthly allowance.
So every month he had to leave his room and go collect more pills.
These pills were full of life energy. So they were easily converted to Qi in his middle dantian.
He slowly grinded away at the circulatory system's meridian.
After six months.
He had officially became a Qi Condensation cultivator!
He could feel Qi flowing through his entire body.
Qi condensation could be broken down into four stratums.
There was lower, middle, upper, and peak. If you were lower you had less then four meridians unblocked. If you were middle, you had greater then six unblocked. If you were upper you had greater then eight unblocked. If you were peak, you had all thirteen unblocked.
The main difference between a mortal and someone in Qi condensation was lifespan and Qi usage.
Because those in Qi condensation had well balanced bodies. They were resistant to age related disease and organ failure. Their entire bodies were usually nourished by the energy of heaven and earth.
If an average person lived for 80 years.
Someone at peak Qi condensation could live for almost double!
150 years!
Using techniques in Qi condensation wasn't all that great. You first needed to have unlocked the meridians in your feet or hands. You then guide the Qi from your middle dantian outwards from these points.
It was very much similar to the energy drawing realm in his second world.
There was no fancy techniques at Qi condensation. Just raw Qi usage.
But this is to not be underestimated! Just like how John as an energy drawing expert could damage the internal organs by sending Qi through the body of the person. Those at Qi condensation who had unlocked the right meridians could do the same.
John wasn't able to use his fusion level organs, as they conflicted with his meridians.
He would end up with less of them that way, meaning he could hold less Qi.
So he had to use regular organs like everyone else.
This was the most compatible.
