Chapter 8- Baby Doofus

It was a blood-curdling scream that came at that moment.

“BRANDON BABY!!”

The madam had found her baby doofus.

I wanted to look through the window but didn’t want to risk getting caught. I also wanted to hear what the baby doofus was going to say.

Was he going to say that I did it?

Was he going to say I had somehow tricked and taken advantage of him? He always liked to play the victim.

Most importantly, would he say I had a skill and used it to hurt him? That was my biggest worry now.

“K, we need to get ready if they blame us. We might need to run away or at least disappear for a while,” I told myself as I expected pounding at the door any second now.

But Nothing Came. I waited for what seemed like an eternity, which was about 10 minutes, but no one knocked.

Meanwhile outside.

“Brandon, Baby, what happened to you?” said Daisy in a worried tone after she found her son lying face down on the ground.

After calling out for him earlier and not hearing back, she decided to walk around the Estate and look for him. She knew he was mischievous, but she didn’t care. She thought he might be having fun bossing some of the servants around. They were high class, so it was only natural for him to be a little authoritative.

Which, in my opinion, was another word for being an ass with people.

After looking for him around the main house and not finding him, she took the path that circled the right side of the Estate and came close to the guesthouse.

As she passed the guest house, she noticed the door was closed, and the lights were off.

“It seemed the brat was asleep or not home,” she thought.

This didn’t surprise her. She had seen Khyrum do this many times but didn't think much of it.

It was turning dusk outside, and the sun was starting to hide behind the horizon. As she continued walking past the guest house, she saw what seemed like a big rock or a big bag of something on the ground ahead of her. She couldn’t tell what it was from afar, but as she got closer, she instantly realized what the figure was.

“That’s a body,” she said while hurrying up to go see.

As she got closer, she instantly recognized the person.

“BRANDON BABY!!” she screamed at the top of her lungs like a crazed woman.

She ran to his side and wanted to check on him but did not know what to look for. “He seemed to have passed out,” she thought.

“What do I do?”

She was growing desperate as she did not know if she should turn him. What if he had injured his head or something else? If she turned him, would this make it worse?

As she was trying to figure it out, one of the servants named Malee came out running after hearing Madam scream.

Malee was only about 16 years old but had worked under the Richie estate ever since she could remember. Her mother, Chai, also a servant here at the Estate, brought her over when she was small.

Malee was not tall—only about 5’ 1”—but she was beautiful. Her heart-shaped face, button nose, and rosy cheeks complemented her slanted eyes and thinly curved eyebrows. Her light brown skin, slender physique, and long black hair made her look dashing.

“Madam, what's the matter,” she said as she got close to Daisy.

“Can you see my son is laying her injured, you worthless girl?” she said in a high-pitched tone.

“Go get help inside quickly!” she screamed at her while trying to comfort Brandon as much as possible.

Malee looked at Brandon, but she could not feel much, as she knew this boy was a pain in the ass to deal with. She was not happy that he got injured but was also not concerned.

“Yes, Madam,” she said as she ran towards the main house. She had a slight smirk on her lips as she ran off.

As Daisy waited, it seemed like time had stopped. She was worried sick that Brandon had not woken up yet. She looked around to see if she could tell what had happened. At first, she thought that maybe Khyrum was somehow involved since it was closer to the guest house than any other location, but she quickly gave up on that idea once she saw the rock on the floor.

“Could he have tripped on this rock?

“But if he did, why didn’t he use his hands to soften the fall?”

Thinking this, she looked at Brandon’s hands and realized he was holding a bent stylus pen in his right hand.

“Could it be that he was playing with the pen and didn’t see that rock and tripped?”

She looked at the rock, the stylus pen, and then at Brandon. It all made sense, but this was just too coincidental.

“Is it this simple?” she thought.

“Oh, my darling, you're so inept,” she said while looking at Brandon.

“When will you outgrow your clumsiness and start turning more into your father?” she sighed.

By this time, Malee was returning accompanied by Elizabeth and two more servants.

“Mom, what happened?”

“It looks like he tripped on the rock,” Daisy said, pointing at the rock beside Brandon's feet.

“It seems he was so preoccupied with the stylus pen that he did not see the rock, tripped, and fell face first.”

“Is my brother that clumsy?” thought Elizabeth.

She remembered all the stupid and awkward situations he had gotten into over the last year or so, and she just shook her head in denial.

“You two try to wake him up,” said Daisy to the two servants who had just arrived. One of them had a bottle of water on him.

He knelt next to Brandon and opened the bottle. Very carefully, he poured some water on his head.

It took a minute or so, but Brandon finally opened his eyes. He immediately jumped up and looked startled.

“What happened?” he said while holding his mouth.

“Why does it feel like I got punched in the mouth?”

He looked down, saw two teeth on the floor, and instantly opened his mouth to check. Two molars were missing.

He then felt a slight burning sensation on his forehead. He reached out with his hand to check, but he felt a flash of pain as soon as he touched his head.

“Where did this bump come from?” he said tearfully.

As he started crying, he felt another burning sensation coming from his chin. This one hurt worse than either his forehead or mouth.

He reached out with his left hand to see what was going on, only to feel a jolt of pain that almost made him lose his legs as soon as he touched his chin.

“Mom, what is going on?” he said, crying and sobbing.

“Son, you don’t remember?” said Daisy in a concerned tone.

“No, I only remember leaving the guest house after showing Khyrum my new stylus pen. The next thing I knew, I was waking up here.”

“Well, it seems you were too preoccupied with your stupid pen that you didn’t see the rock, tripped, and fell on your face,” said Elizabeth angrily as she pointed at the rock.

“Now, Liz, we don’t need to act that way with him,” said Daisy as she reached over and wrapped her arm around Brandon.

“Let’s go, son. I need to take you to the doctor to ensure you're okay. We also need to check with the dentist about those two teeth.”

As they left, Brandon turned around and glared at the guesthouse for a long time.
