When Prime appeared, people started cheering and jumping for joy both on the street and at home. It was as if the biggest idol, the icon that moves people, had just appeared. People were eager to see him, follow him, and be part of the sensation that was him, the man, Prime.
Standing on the rooftop and watching all these people react felt utterly ridiculous. This wasn’t some televised prize fight, movie role, or media gimmick; this was my job, and it encompassed real, live danger, something these people didn’t seem to grasp.
Hearing them cheer and shout in support should have brought me great joy, but it didn’t. Instead, I realized that I had been negligent in my resolve to keep a low profile. Due to all the things that had happened to me over the last few months, I had led myself astray. I was growing too big for my own good.
I needed to fix this as soon as possible.
“I can’t continue like this,” I said to myself. Keeping an eye on a person in front of me in the street.
The person had the most hideous look on his face right now. A mixture of fear, hate, anger, and regret all in one face.
“Fuck, it's Prime,” said Alexei to himself as he backed up some to get some space in between him and me.
“Finn, Kona, I need you guys back here now. We have an emergency, “he said over encrypted communication to his team.
“Copy Captain, we are heading back now,” responded Kona.
“Captain, what’s going on,” asked Finn apprehensively.
“Can’t discuss it over the air, but Theo and Oskana are down, and we need to retreat ASAP,” said Alexei hastily.
“What!” exclaimed Renault over the comm channel.
Following the short discussion, Renault quickly moved from the back of the transport convoy to the middle to meet Alexei, as he couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“Captain, where is Theo and Oskana,” asked Renault worriedly.
Alexei didn’t respond and only kept staring towards the roof of the old Star Hotel building.
Seeing Alexei’s worried look, Renault followed his gaze to the top of the roof, only to be stunned as well.
“Shit is that who I think it is,” he said quickly, going into a defensive stance.
Alexei just nodded before saying, “Prime.”
Seeing another enemy entering the fray, I knew I had to act quickly, or this could get tricky.
I jumped, gliding back down to street level and landing next to the first transport.
I kept staring at Alexei and Renault, but neither made a move. They were standing there, looking like two statues.
I decided to check on the personnel from the first transport vehicle and found both Alphas in a sorry state.
“Shit, these guys need medical attention asap,” I told myself.
I looked back towards the back of the vehicle and spotted the female attacker lying unconscious on the street as well.
“Fuck, at least that’s one less to deal with right now,” I thought.
I quickly used my Heal skill on the two Alphas in the transport vehicle. A yellow-golden glow spread from my hand toward the two downed guards. The glow encompassed the Alphas, and their conditions started to change in real time as if by magic. Their faces, which looked sickly and hurt just minutes ago, began to change to healthy and spry.
Alliance News Network.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, the situation seems to have changed with the arrival of Prime just a few moments ago,” said Jerry as he moved to position himself closer to the action.
“He quickly immobilized two of the attackers, and the other two are just standing there, not sure what they might be thinking, maybe they are giving up,” said the reporter.

“Oh, we have movement from Prime. He is gliding off the roof towards the first transport vehicle. Let's go take a closer look,” said Jerry as he ran parallel to the street, taking cover as he ran in some bushels that adorned the street.
“He’s checking on the guards on the first transport. Oh, what is this? Hold on, people. Let me zoom in. Yes, it looks like some sort of glow is coming off his hand and spreading to the injured guards.”
“What is happening here? The guards' faces are changing, looking livelier. Yes, they are healing in real-time. Zoom in, Zoom in, “screamed the reporter to his team, trying to catch the skill at work.
“What sort of skill is this?” exclaimed the reporter in total surprise.
Alphas had healing skills but were mainly for self-use and not as quick to work. Depending on the tier of the spell, it could take hours to days for the spell to heal.
But here was Prime using a healing skill that worked in seconds to minutes. What sort of witchcraft was this?
Both Alexei and Renault’s faces just changed time and time again after seeing what Prime was doing. He healed the two Alphas that Oksana had painstakingly taken down in mere minutes.
“Boss, did you see that,” said Renault nervously.
Alexei didn’t answer, but his apprehension was palpable.
The two alphas quickly regained consciousness and thanked Prime. They exited the vehicle and promptly noticed the female attacker unconscious by the back of the transport. It was the same one that had put a beating on both earlier.
They felt embarrassed that they couldn’t fight this female for more than a couple of minutes before they were knocked unconscious by her. They wanted to help Prime continue with the fight to make up for their shortcomings, but he stopped them.
“I’m going to pull out the package from the second transport, and both of you are going to take it running to the auction house, where my partner Damian is waiting for you to take it in,” I said to the two Alphas as they nodded, understanding their mission.
Being the elite Alpha he was, Alexei quickly picked up on what I had just told both guards.
He started laughing hysterically that even Renault was surprised.
“Do you think it will be that easy for you to take the package from us, “he said deviously.
“Are we going to fight him,” asked Renault, surprised by Alexei’s quick change.
“What else can we do? We have already lost two people. If we leave without the package, then all this would have been for nothing,” he said in an unwavering voice that gave some courage to Renault.
“If I were you, I would give myself up already. The rest of the security teams should be here within minutes,” I told Alexei and Renault, trying to see if they would give themselves up peacefully.
Both looked at each other before nodding.
“Can’t do; we either succeed or all of us die here trying,” said Alexei in a cold and distant tone.
“Another fight to the death; what fucking bad luck do I have to always end up in one of these,” I told myself as I wrestled with the situation and what was to come.
“Stay here,” I said to the guards as I started walking to the middle of the street, moving ever closer to the attackers.
I quickly enhanced myself to the extreme as I knew the fighting was about to start, and as if on cue, I spotted a plasma projectile aimed at my head moving in from my right.
I acted as if I hadn’t noticed it.
As the projectile approached, a young man grinning from ear to ear was on top of an old building about a block up the street from us, looking through a gun scope.
“I got you now, you freaking show off,” said Finn condescendingly as he lay in a shooting stance with an elemental rifle in his hands.
There was a massive explosion about three feet away from making an impact.
BOOOOMMMM!! Sounded the explosion picking up a lot of dust and debri.
“Yeah, I got him. Did you see that, Boss,” screamed Finn into the comm excitedly.
Both Alexei and Renault had a weird look on their faces. They felt the shot was good, but was this good enough to take out Prime? Was he that weak?
“That was a great shot, Finnius. You’re starting to look more like a man I can date,” said Kona, having just gotten to the area when Finn took the shot.
“Hehe, I’ll remember that,” he said when suddenly his smile turned into a frown.
Looking through the rifle's scope, he discerned a shadow standing as the debris and smoke of the impact dissipated.
“What the fuck,” he screamed as he saw two air blades fly out from the hands of the individual.
“Watch out,” screamed Alexei into the comm.
Finn’s eyes grew wide, frozen in fear, as he saw the crescent blades approaching at a high rate of speed. A feminine shadow appeared behind him the next instant, pulling him off the roof as the two crescent blades landed.
BAAMM!!
Another large explosion happened atop the old, abandoned building, but Kona and Finn had jumped off just a second before the blades arrived.
“Ahhggg,” screamed Renault in anger as he saw how close Kona and Finn were to getting hit.
“You,” he said, pointing to me, then he made a gesture with his finger running it across his neck as in cutting my throat.
He started running towards me at full speed; as he got closer, his tan skin began to change to a silver metal color.
“Hhmm... this looks like the metal skin skill,” I said.
He looked like a giant metal robot now as he approached quickly.
“Die,” he screamed as he jumped up, coming down fast with his right arm extended in front of him, like Superman from the old comics from the 21st century.
I took my fighting stance and quickly jumped up to meet him with my right hand extended.
BOOM!
There was a loud explosion as our fists met mid-air, sending shockwaves across the area. Dirt and debris flew out from the center of impact in all directions.
His eyes showed surprise and worry as this had never happened; he had always been able to overpower his opponents.
But before he could recover, I spun out to my right, bringing my left elbow up and across to catch him on his left side rib cage, delivering a very powerful blow.
BOOM! Sounded another explosion.
Subsequently, a body flew out from mid-air, hitting the ground hard.
“Renault,” screamed Kona and Finn.
Before I could go down and finish off the big guy, another fist approached fast from below.
“Fuck You,” yelled out Alexei as he approached decked out in his plasma armor.
