“What the hell…. Aghhhh, why does it hurt so much?” screamed Brandon as he lay on his knees.
The veins on his neck and forehead bulged out as they pulsated to the chaotic rhythm of his heart.
Standing next to him, I could see the sweat and what I assumed were tears flowing down his forehead and cheeks as they flooded the arena floor. His eyes were bloodshot red, and his lower lip quivered uncontrollably.
“Brandon, didn’t we agree no skills?” I said calmly.
He looked up at me with eyes that could kill a bird at a two-mile distance.
“You did this, you fucking beggar,” he said in a not-so-friendly tone.
“Did what? Raise my hand to block your strike?”
“I sure did, if that is what you're asking,” I said.
“Is it my fault you have girly arms and can't punch correctly?” I asked, pretending not to know the truth.
“What’s the big deal?” I continued, “The pain reception should be low, so I don’t understand what you're crying about.”
Brandon had his Fuck You face on, but he could say he had changed the pain tolerance during the fight. That would make him look like a douchebag.
Outside in the viewing room, all three girls looked in disbelief as they saw the fight's outcome.
“How did Khyrum block that punch?” enquired Eva as she looked at the holo-display, still wondering what had happened.
“I’m not sure what happened in the fight, but one thing I do know is that I’m going to beat Khyrum’s ass for comparing us to Brandon,” said Yara with a hint of wickedness in her voice.
“Saying Brandon has girly arms and cant punch, does he think my arms are not strong enough to beat his ass into submission” she continued to say, getting riled up.
“Calm down, Yara; I’m sure he didn’t mean us per se, more like…” said Cora as she looked at Eva finishing her sentence.
Eva quickly took notice of the sly and, in a sarcastic tone, fired back.
“I might have girly hands, as you say, Cora, but I bet I can still whoop your ass. Care to find out?”
All three girls were at a silent standstill. The following words could set off the mother of all catfights.
Just then, a voice is heard from behind the girls.
“My, my girls, what’s with the animosity in this room?” asked Nox.
He had just shown up after being informed by one of his friends who works at the venue that Cora was there. So, naturally, he made his way to The Nexus as well.
All three girls turned to see Nox standing at the room's entrance.
Cora quickly stepped behind her sister, trying to shield herself from Nox.
But how could she hide? Nox was there just for her, so he quickly zeroed in on her.
“Wow, Cora, you look amazing,” he said, almost drooling.
This was the first time he had seen Cora dress like that, and just looking at her made his heart beat faster and faster.
Cora did her best to hide behind her sister, but she still felt the gaze of Nox on her. It was like she was being stripped naked with his vision.
“Why the hell did he show up?” she whispered to Yara.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
“I don’t know, sis. It’s probably that someone told him we were here,” she answered.
Eva also felt slight discomfort watching Nox’s gaze on Cora. She could tell the guy was fantasizing about something lewd at this moment.
At that exact moment, the holo-display went off, and the attendant told them the fight was over.
“Everyone, the fight is over. Please come outside to wait for your friends,” he said as he led the girls and Nox outside.
As the girls stood outside waiting in a room by the VR pods, Nox was still staring at Cora, thinking of a way to strike up a conversation.
“So, Cora, who were the fighters?” he said sweetly.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, just hearing the tone of his voice. She was deciding whether to answer, but then her sister jumped in.
“It was Khyrum and Brandon,” she said coldly.
“Before you ask, Khyrum won, so you can move on now,” she continued.
Nox looked at Yara with a little bit of resentment.
“Why are you being all bitchy” he said.
“I want to have a conversation with Cora, not you, so you should stay out of this,” he said now, slightly agitated.
“I can be wherever I want,” said Yara.
“Cora is my sister, so I’ll protect her however I see fit,” she continued.
“Protect her from what? It's not like I’m going to steal her.”
“Unless she is into that, then sure, I’ll take her away,” he said with a wicked grin.
As the girls and Nox were having their little spat, Brandon and Khyrum exited their pods.
Eva took advantage of the twins' argument with Nox and approached the guys.
“Are you alright?” she said as she approached them.
“Yes, it was nothing I couldn’t handle,” said Brandon, but he was still sweating, and his face had not returned to normal yet.
Brandon had stopped as he saw Eva approaching,
“I’m hungry after the fight. Why don’t we go out to find….” he was saying, but Eva just walked past him and went straight to me.
“Khyrum, are you ok? You didn’t get hurt, did you,” she said tenderly.
Caught off guard by her, I struggled to find words.
“No, I’m ok,” I said.
“Okay, that’s good then. We saw how Brandon had used a skill, so I worried you might get hurt. But I’m glad you're okay,” she said.
“Thank you, but no need to worry,” I said.
“By the way, where are the twins? Weird not seeing them around,” I continued.
“They're over there with Nox, something about a lover's quarrel between Nox and Cora, I think,” said Eva sarcastically.
“Why do you miss them?” she asked, probing the subject.
“Do you miss Cora, or do you miss the view?” she said temptingly.
I just stood there frozen, thinking of what to answer.
“Because if you miss the view, I can dress like that for you,” she said teasingly, moving so close that our faces were about one inch apart.
She was so close I could smell the fragrance of her shampoo. Also, the tantalizing perfume she had on mesmerized me. I couldn’t think. I swallowed my saliva hard, trying to regain my composure.
About 15 feet behind them, Cora kept glancing toward where Eva and Khyrum were standing. She had seen Eva walk toward the guys but thought Eva was going towards Brandon. She never expected Eva to go straight to Khyrum.
As Yara and Nox kept arguing, Cora could only grind her teeth as she saw Eva talking to Khy coquettishly.
She couldn’t leave as she had to stand by her sister, but watching those two made her heart tense.
What finally made her snap was seeing Eva move so close to Khyrum that it seemed they were about to kiss.
“Nox, I have to go to my friends to make sure everything is ok; we can continue this conversation at school when we get back,” said Cora, now visibly upset.
Both Nox and Yara were surprised by Cora’s outburst but were even more surprised when she started to walk away.
Nox didn’t say anything as he watched Cora walk away. Wickedness flashed in his eyes as he saw Cora leave.
Soon after, he left the room himself.
Yara turned around to follow her sister, seeing where Cora was looking; she gasped momentarily when she saw Eva and Khyrum so close.
“What the hell, Khyrum?” she told herself.
“We leave you alone for 5 minutes, and someone else is already trying to steal you away? Hell no!” she said as she followed her sister.
Eva was still so close to me that I could feel the warmth radiating from her body.
“So Khyrum, what's your answer?” she asked as she moved forward again.
This time, I felt two mounts of flesh press against my lower chest area. I could tell they were big, firm, and elastic.
I couldn’t think straight anymore!
My only thought was, “Where the hell is Brandon in all of this?”
Brandon had left the venue after Eva had dissed him; he was walking back home.
“This shit is going to stop right now. That fucking beggar needs an ass-kicking, and I know just who to call.”
“Just wait, Khyrum; once I tell those guys, they will make sure to take care of you nice and good,” he said with a wicked grin.
I was squirming like an ant on a hot plate as I couldn’t escape from Eva.
Just then, I heard a very familiar female voice.
“Eva, what the hell are you doing?” said Cora, upset.
“Well, I’m waiting for Khyrum to answer my question,” Eva said as she stepped back from me.
“And what question would that be?” followed up with Yara as she arrived right after her sister.
“It’s a question that is just between me and him. You don’t have to know what it is,” she said.
“Oh really?” said both twins.
“Khyrum, tell us the question right now?” said both girls, visibly riled up, as they corned me in the room.
My fight or flight instinct was about to kick in when suddenly a ringing interrupted our little pandemonium.
It was a message from Roy on my CAD.
“Khyrum, you need to get your ass back here now. We have a major problem!”
