Chapter 55-New Killing Skill

Chapter 55-New Killing Skill

Is picking up a new skill this easy?

I heard it took many years of practice and resources to learn skills. The higher the tier, the longer it took to learn and master.

But here I was, learning new skills left and right. It seemed as natural to me as going to the local food mart to pick up groceries.

“Azura Armor?” I kept repeating in my head.

I didn’t know what it was or what it could do, but it sounded like a badass skill.

Damian and Kamil were still fighting a little further away from me.

Kamil rushed Damian, trying to catch him off guard. With the Molten Armor skill on, it was proving very difficult for Damian to gain leverage in the fight against him.

“Kamil, if anything happens to the kid, I won't rest until I see your head detached from your body,” said Damian, upset.

With that, he launched another assault on Kamil as he drew close. Using a wind wall, he tried to block Kamil from advancing while simultaneously engaging him with Air Blade to try and catch him on his blind side. Damian knew he had little chance of doing any real damage, but that wasn’t his ultimate goal.

He wanted to draw out the fight to allow time for reinforcements to come, he already had called.

He had sent his boss, Selin, a message to tell her about the situation and to send backup quickly.

“I know what you're trying to do, Ghost, and it won't work,” said Kamil.

“By the time your backup arrives, you and that shithead will be long dead,” he continued to say with a devilish smile.

A massive crowd of onlookers had already formed at the park's entrance. They were all trying to see what was happening inside; no one wanted to go in because they did not want to get hurt by the crossfire.

From a couple hundred feet away, bystanders could see two silhouettes going back and forth in combat. They couldn’t distinguish the faces due to the distance, but they could tell they were strong by the amount of damage each of their skills would do as they hit the surrounding landscape.

“I wonder who is fighting who?” said one of the onlookers.

“It has to be a famous family or strike team to have the powerful skills they are using,” said another.

Kamil and Damian had been fighting for about 10 minutes, and Damian looked rough as he had taken a lot of damage.

Looking at Damian, Kamil just shook his head in disappointment.

“I was hoping you were a smarter man ghost, but I guess you're not,” he said as he stopped moving.

“I had given you ample time to get out of here, but no. Instead, you have chosen to die alongside that boy,” said Kamil in a condescending tone.

“It doesn’t matter. If the kid dies, I’m a dead man anyway, so why not just go for it? Maybe I get lucky and land a critical shot,” said Damian as he continued the assault.

He started chugging air blades one after another towards Kamil.

“I’ll give you a just death, as you deserve it for holding to your principles,” said Kamil as he picked up his right hand. Instantly, his glaive weapon appeared.

He fired three plasma beams at Damian, hoping to end this quickly. He knew he was running out of time. If more people came, especially from Zone 16, escaping would be more challenging.

The air blades flew towards Kamil at an impressive speed; as they cut through the air, they made a humming sound. In a matter of seconds, they arrived before Kamil.

BOOM!!!

There was a loud explosion as the Air Blades made contact with Kamil.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

“Yeah, I got him; at least this will buy us some time,” thought Damian, getting ready to block the plasma beams heading his way.

He made a double air wall to block the beams, but it took only one of the beams to break the air walls.

Damian's eyes grew wide with surprise as he stared down two incoming plasma beams.

Reacting quickly, he managed to shoot off his Wind Blast attack as it collided with one of the incoming plasma beans.

Another loud explosion was heard. BOOM!!!

But there was no time for celebration as the third beam was still on the way. Without even thinking about it too much, Damian conjured up his Air Shield.

Not even a second later, the beam collides with the Air Shield. BOOM! A third explosion is heard, but this time, the onlookers can see one of the two silhouettes flying out like it had just been shot out of a cannon.

After blocking the last beam with the Air Shield, Damian unfortunately couldn’t withstand the force of the blast and was thrown back about 50 feet.

“What a freakishly strong attack,” thought Damian as he struggled to get up after the blast.

He could hear Kamil's footsteps approaching from in front. Damian wanted to get up, but his body was too badly hurt; he figured he also had suffered broken bones due to the blast.

“Shit, prime, it looks like we will be dying together today,” he said in a low tone.

I, of course, couldn’t hear this or see the fight as I was still lying on the ground unconscious. The injury to my stomach was healing, but it would take some time. The aesthetics of the injury were completely healed, as the incision where the knife came in had pretty much disappeared already.

The only thing was that I still had some internal injuries, but those would have to wait until after the fight to heal them.

“Alright, Khy, let's do this; we have been out of the fight for about 20 minutes now.”

“If you are not dead yet, it means someone made it in time to help you, but he might not be up to the task of keeping you safe with Kamil around,” I told myself as I tried to regain clarity.

I knew I had to come in fighting at 120% with all my skills going to the max; if I didn't, I would probably not make it.

Kamil slowly walked toward Damian, his weapon in his right hand. With less than five feet between them, he slowly began lifting his weapon, aiming straight at Damian's head.

“Any last words, ghost?” said Kamil coldly.

Damian just looked up at him with a defiant stare.

When Kamil began pressing the trigger to fire, a low whistling sound could be heard from the tree line behind them.

The whistling sound started getting louder and louder.

“What the fuck is that noise,” said Kamil flustered.

He stopped and looked up to see where the noise was coming from. His eyes grew wide, and a scowl appeared on his face.

“This can’t be,” he said, utterly bewildered.

This funnel-like cloud spun at an inconceivable speed in front of him, maybe 100 feet from where he was. Hues of Gold, Silver, and Green could be seen emanating from it; they seemed to be breathing.

“Did I get a reprieve, “thought Damian, seeing that Kamil had not pulled the trigger.

He then looked towards where Kamil was looking, and he, too, was started by what he was seeing.

The whistling got so loud that you could hear it into the street.

“What the hell is the whistling noise, “said one of the onlookers.

Suddenly, the spinning vortex erupted straight up, sending a plume of dust and debris a couple hundred feet into the air.

With a loud explosion, BOOM! The spinning vortex disappeared.

Kamil and Damian, the closest to the vortex, took the brunt of the blast.

Damian was knocked unconscious by the blast, while Kamil was only knocked back about 40 feet.

“Man, what the fuck is going on? Did someone arrive or what?” asked Kamil, perturbed.

As the dirt and dust settled, Khyrum stood in the middle of what used to be the vortex, but he was unrecognizable.

Covered from head to toe, I now had an actual suit of armor.

The suit was a combination of silver and green diamond etching made of a new material—something I had never seen before. It was held together with what looked like a body suit of grey, misty clouds, which allowed the diamond etching blocks to shift around as needed.

Finally, a hoodie covered my head, leaving only my face exposed. Even then, a misty veil covered my face, entirely keeping my identity hidden.

Kamil, seeing the arrival of the new guy, was surprised. He didn’t expect someone to be able to sneak past him so easily.

“Who are you, and what do you want here,” he said hesitantly.

The crowd had gotten restless from all the explosions, so most decided to come in. Many had CAD, and they were recording video of the fight.

“Oh, Shit, a new guy just arrived. Who is he? Man, he looks so cool in that armor suit,” said a female onlooker.

“Hey, isn’t that Kamil from Phantom Force? I wonder why he is here,” said another of the onlookers.

“Yeah, that is Kamil, but where is the rest of his team?” said a third.

Kamil kept staring at the individual floating in the air, but suddenly, something caught his attention.

“Where the hell is that kid? He should be right there, looking at where the new guy was,” he said before he realized something. His eyes grew wide again with surprise, but it was too late.

I extended my right arm and opened my hand, and in an instant, a crescent-shaped wind blade of golden color appeared.

“GOLDEN WIND SKILL,” I said.

Kamil looked scared even with the molten armor on.

“Shit, I can feel the killing intent from that blade all the way here; I can’t take that thing head one,” he said.

Seeing that he was about to move, I released the blade from my hand, and in the blink of an eye, it cut right through Kamil.

“Shit, it's coming; I need to block….” said Kamil, but before he could finish, his eyes only saw a flicker of golden hue past him for a second before his upright vision started going sideways and then down.

Before Kamil died, he saw his body lying in front of him.

“Shit is this for real, this freaking skill is awesome,” I said in total shock,
