Chapter 63- Normal School Day

“Hi, I’m Khyrum Drathos,” I said in a friendly tone.

Paige walked into the elevator, and we continued to the lobby.

“Khyrum, what a name that's as unique as you,” she said, her tone hinting at a hidden curiosity.

Her observation caught me off guard. I had never considered it, as no one had ever mentioned it, but I must admit it is a unique name.

We continued to chat as we descended into the lobby,

“So, Khyrum, are you a freshman at Elite?” asked Paige.

“Yeah, I just started a few months ago,” I answered.

“Well, I also go there, but I’m a senior, so this would be my last year,” she said as she played around with her CAD.

At this moment, the elevator doors opened as we reached the building lobby.

“Well, it was nice to meet you, Miss Paige; I’ll be going now,” I said as I walked out of the elevator.

I started to call for a ride service to school when a hand grabbed my shoulder from behind.

I turned around to see Paige looking at me with a heavy smile on her face.

“How are you going to get to school,” she questioned.

“I was just about to call for a ride.”

“Oh, a ride service? You'll be late by the time they arrive and then take you to school,” she said worriedly.

“No, I’ll take you,” she continued.

I looked at her a little hesitantly. I had just met this lady, but she seemed too friendly for some reason.

“Paige, thank you, but I’ll be ok,” I said calmly.

She looked at me, and her eyes had this glint of determination as if she had to do this for a reason.

“Khyrum, you’re going to hurt my feelings if you don’t let me do this, “she said in a pouty voice.

Seeing that this would not go my way so easily and wanting to save time, I caved in.

“Okay, Paige. You win. Should we get going? “I said as I motioned for us to move on.

We got into Paige’s transport vehicle and took off for school. Along the way, Paige started telling me about school and her family. The conversation was entirely one-sided, as I did not say much but an occasional ok, really, or nod.

After about 1 hour, we finally arrived at school.

“Khyrum, you’re a great listener. I could talk to you all day,” Paige said with a wide grin.

“Yeah, I don’t know about that,” I told myself as I exited the vehicle.

“Miss Paige, thank you for the ride; I hope you have a wonderful day,” I said as I quickly started walking away.

Paige stared at Khyrum’s back for a long while before a curious look appeared on her face.

“Interesting,” she said as she exited her car and left.

Throughout the car ride, I didn’t have a chance to check my CAD as Paige never shut up. I knew I was receiving messages, but I wasn’t going to answer them in front of a total stranger.

“Hmm, let me see,” I said as I opened the CAD display and walked to class.

Sure enough, I had messages from Damian, Eva, Roy, and, for some reason, Cora and Bradon.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.

The first one I opened was Damian’s, as I was a little worried about how things would finish on Saturday.

“Prime, call me when you read this message. “We need to talk urgently,” read the message.

“Ok. I’ll need to do that once I settle everything this morning,” I thought.

The next message I opened was Roy’s.

“Khyrum, just checking in. Call me when you're free,” read the message.

“Hmm, doesn’t sound very urgent; I’ll leave that one for this afternoon when I return to the apartment,” I said.

The next one, of course, was Eva’s.

“Baby, where are you? I’m getting a little worried as I haven’t heard from you since Saturday,” the message said.

I quickly answered that one.

“I’m ok, beautiful. I had some things to take care of, but I’ll see you at noon; bye,” I wrote and sent it out.

I really didn’t know if I should open the last two. Knowing Brandon, it was probably some stupid shit, as always.

Cora’s was probably the same rhetoric, so I chose not to look at it.

By the time I got to class, it was 7:30 a.m. Many of the students were already there. I took my place and sat down to wait for our teacher.

About 10 minutes later, Nox came in. He scanned the whole class before his gaze zoomed in on me. He then started to walk over.

“Shit, what does he want now,” I mumbled, watching him walk over.

“Khyrum?” he said.

I looked at him before nodding.

“There are some things we need to talk about. Can you meet me after school at BG 1,” he said.

I stared at him for a long while before saying.

“Look, Nox, if this relates to Cora, I already said I’m not interested. I don’t have a romantic interest in her, so please leave me alone,” I said coldly.

He looked at me and wanted to say something but held his tongue.

“OK, we won't talk about that, but there are some other things I need to discuss with you. Can you meet me this afternoon,” he said.

“It can’t be discussed right now?” I questioned.

“No, this requires a certain discretion, and it might take a little bit of time to go through all of it,” said Nox.

“That's okay, but I can’t promise you I'll stay for a long time; I have other things to do after school,” I said.

Nox just nodded and headed to his seat.

I got a message from Eva during my first class, basically saying that she would see me at lunch. The rest of the morning went by without much trouble.

I went by the cafeteria, picked up a two-box lunch, and headed towards the library.

As I approached the front doors, I spotted a silhouette of a beautiful young lady standing outside them.

It was Eva.

“Honey, where have you been,” she said as she ran up to me.

“It’s a long story, “I said as I gestured for her to enter the library.

We went inside and sat in our usual place, this isolated corner on the second floor.

I put the box lunches down on the table and turned around to look at Eva but was surprised by a very warm and full set of lips.

We kissed for a good long minute or so, MUAH!

After we separated to catch our breaths, Eva said in a pouty voice.

“I was really worried about you. I went to your place Saturday night, but you weren’t there,” she said as we sat at the table.

“Saturday? “I said with a bewildered look.

“Yeah, after you gave me the address, I went there Saturday afternoon, but a girl there told me there was no one leaving there with your name or description,” continued Eva.

“Girl?” I said.

“Yeah, I think she said her name was Paige.”

“She said the person on the sixth floor was an older guy named Damian or something,” she continued.

“I got worried and tried to call you, but you didn’t pick up. Then something came up with my dad, and I couldn't call you back until Sunday or Monday, but again, I couldn’t reach you,” she said with a worried look.

“A lot of things happened this weekend, but I assure you I live in that building, and the girl you saw didn’t know about it since I had just moved. In,” I explained.

Of course, I then explained what had happened on Saturday, living out the parts about the fight. I explained about running into Cora and Nox at the shopping center and the issue with the girl at the antique store.

As I explained the situation to Eva, I saw her face turn from worried to normal to angry.

“This freaking bitch doesn’t want to give up, does she,” said Eva angrily.

“Well, I’m hoping Nox can work his magic and have her focus on him instead of us,” I said as I opened the lunch boxes.

We then ate for the next 10 to 15 minutes, talking about school stuff as we immersed ourselves in our conversation.

“Khyrum,” said Eva in a soft voice.

I looked up to see her beautiful eyes shimmering like diamonds.

“Yes, “I said as I looked into her eyes.

“You said you went to an antique store to buy me a bracelet. Do you have it with you,” she said shyly.

I nodded as I proceeded to pull out the Singularities Bracelet from my backpack.

The Bracelet glimmered beautifully inside that dimly lit corner of the library. The tricolor shimmering accentuated Eva's overall attractiveness.

Eva looked at the bracelet, and her eyes shimmered in unison with the bracelet stones; it was as if it were part of her.

“This is beautiful,” she said as she picked up the bracelet to put it on.

“Oh, it's warm,” she said, surprised.

“Yes, it’s a special bracelet. They told me it should keep you safe from harm,” I said, trying to remain vague about the bracelet's origin.

Eva stared at the bracelet for a long time. She finally snapped out of it when she heard the bell ending at lunchtime.

“Sorry, Babe. It’s just that this bracelet is so beautiful that I got lost in it,” she said.

I wanted to say something but couldn’t muster up the words, so I ended up saying.

“Yeah, that was one of the reasons I got it; it reminded me of your beauty,” I tried to say romantically, but I think it came out cheesy.

Eva looked at me and again planted a very long and passionate kiss on me.

“I haven’t forgotten I owe you a gift; I’ll give it to you this afternoon at your place,” she said flirtatiously.
