Chapter 71-Comparing Attacks.

Gliding twenty feet in the air wasn’t as simple as it sounded. The sheer strength needed to keep your body from being slammed into the ground by gravity was quite staggering. Not just anyone could do it; that is why very few alphas could fly. In actuality, there was only one: Me!

“Here he comes,” said a giddy voice from inside the high-security area at the air base.

This area of the air base, a high-security zone nestled in the heart of the sprawling complex, was restricted to personnel from the alliance's quick response military team and any VIP authorized by the alliance.

Damian arrived at this area about ten minutes ago and was talking to Nikolas and Selin inside the hangar where the first transport was located when they noticed the commotion outside.

“Looks like Prime is here,” he said to Nikolas and Selin. The two of them just nodded in acceptance.

"The rest of the team is at the second transport, so let's meet with them before we leave," said Selin.

As the three walked outside, they were surprised to see a small crowd forming just outside the hangar doors.

“What the hell is going on here,” said Nikolas with a sour face.

“What did you expect, Dad? Prime is the viral sensation right now, and many of the younger people, including alphas, want to be like him,” said Selin with a glint of admiration in her eyes as she spoke.

Damian looked at Selin as she spoke and noticed that small sentiment hidden deep within her carefree attitude.

“Hmm, what’s this I’m seeing,” he said with a smirk.

Outside the hangar, a small group of people had already gathered. I could see the faces of a few people I knew, such as Brandon and Ethian, and many that I didn’t.

“Finally, a place to land,” was my first thought as I saw the hangar and the transport inside the security zone.

I headed that way and eased myself down.

As I landed, I could see everyone standing outside the hangar with a nervous/excited look.

“Shit am I in the wrong place,” I said as no one approached for some time.

After a few minutes, the first one to move was Ethian; he walked over to where I was standing with a big smile on his face.

“Good Moring, Prime,” he said, sounding composed.

“Good morning, Mr. Richie,” I responded in turn.

Ethian looked surprised for a moment before snapping back.

“Please call me Ethian, as I would like you to consider me a friend going forward,” he said.

“I’m sorry, but your voice surprised me just now. You sound very young, and this voice is very familiar to me. May I ask how old you are?” he asked with interest in his eyes.

“Damm, this old man is good; he quickly figured out my age, but I can't say more, or he'll figure out who I am,” I told myself, amazed at Ethian’s perception.

“I’m young but can handle myself very well,” I answered ambiguously.

Ethian quickly realized I didn’t want to divulge my age, so he didn’t persist.

“Prime, the rest of the team is standing over there. Let’s go meet them,” said Ethian, pointing to a group of about six people standing by the second transport.

“No need. We will only be working together on this one job, so there is no need to get to know everyone at a personal level. With you, it’s enough for me,” I said as I walked to the transport.

I was trying to avoid Brandon, who was with the rest of the team.

Ethian stayed rooted for a second as he never figured I would be such a hard ass. After a minute, he blinked again and started moving towards me.

“Prime, are you sure,” he said pleadingly.

“Yeah, no need for formalities or pleasantries for me or from me. Let's get on the transport and go,” I said coldly.

Ethian couldn’t help but smile wryly as he heard what I had just said.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

At the same time, Damian was coming out of the hangar when he spotted me talking to Ethian as I walked toward the hangar.

He quickly headed over.

“Prime, have you met the rest of the team,” he said like usual.

“No need; I just want to get this fucking job done and go home. I told you I’m going to kill someone if they insist on making me play nice with everyone here.”

Damian just grimaced after hearing me.

“Where is the transport we’re taking,” I asked, a little impatient.

Damian quickly pointed to the transport inside the hangar.

“Good, let's get a move on then,” I said as I started walking inside the hangar.

Suddenly, an older gentleman and a young girl stopped me. Of course, it was Nikolas and Selin; they stood right before me.

Nikolas looked at me as if trying to gaze through my mask. The intensity in his eyes was frightening, to say the least. Selin was the opposite; although her attitude was aloof, her eyes' glint of excitement and her arrogance couldn’t be hidden.

Nobody said anything for a second before Damian ran over.

“Prime, this is my boss, Selin, and her Boss/dad Nikolas,” he said nervously.

Nikolas was the first to speak.

“Prime, it's nice to meet you finally,” he said with a smile.

“Yeah, finally,” came the words tinted in arrogance, “ Who do you think you are keeping all of us in suspense,” said Selin, finally speaking.

I was glad I was wearing my cloak right now as my face twitched a little unsightly after hearing Selin, “Who the fuck does this bitch think she is,” came to mind.

Damian sensed I was about to go nuclear on his boss, so he tried to intervene, but Nikolas beat him.

“Selin! What the hell is wrong with you?” he said, bewildered but angry.

“Apologize to him right now,” Nikolas told Selin in a cold tone.

Being the pampered princess she was, she snorted and raised her chin in defiance.

“I will not,” she said.

She looked at me again, and a glint of mischief flashed through her eyes. Suddenly, she raised her hands to try to take off my cloak.

“Take that dam thing off when you're talking to me,” she said as she leaped towards me with her hands outstretched as if trying to catch a ball.

It all happened so quickly that anyone else wouldn’t have the time to react, but right before her hands grabbed my cloak, I disappeared.

The last thing I saw was Selin’s face and those big eyes as if saying, “I got you,” before I disappeared.

All three, Nikolas, Selin, and Damian, were dumbfounded by what had just happened.

Nikolas and Selin just looked at each other before Nikolas began to scold her.

“You insolent girl, why did you do that,” said Nikolas, riled up.

“Do you want to stay here and miss out on all this? Didn’t you say you wanted to meet Prime, and now here you are behaving like a spoiled little girl, throwing tantrums and causing issues?” he continued to say.

Selin didn’t know how to react. Her childish side had gotten the better of her.

“What’s happened? I never act like this,” she told herself.

“Father…” she started to speak before another booming voice cut through the air.

“Prime, get your ass out here,” screamed a young man, about 5’ 11” weighing 195 pounds of mostly muscle. Square face, light brown hair with a goatee. This young man was Tixus, Commander Dythaxio’s son.

Everyone turned around to look at him as if he was crazy.

Out of the inside of the transport that was in the hangar came a voice in a disinterested tone.

“What’s going on? Aren’t we not leaving yet,” said Prime as he poked his head out from inside the transport door.

Nikolas, Selin, and Damian were all shaken after seeing Prime exit the transport door as no one saw him get in it to begin.

“How the hell did he get over there,” said Nikolas, scratching his chin with his right hand.

Selin looked blankly at Prime as if trying to figure out something.

Damian just smiled. He knew Prime, and this was nothing new to him.

As the three started walking to the transport again, Tixus said in a loud voice directed at Prime, “Asshole, get over here and apologize to your team.”

Eres, Ken, and Ethian, were behind him, trying to calm him down, but nothing seemed to work.

After the second scream, I walked out of the transport, looked at Tixus, and grinned.

“This guy has misunderstood me. He thinks I don’t want to meet with them, but he doesn’t know it's Brandon that I don’t want to meet,” I told myself.

Brandon had not said anything since I arrived, as he stayed close to his dad. He was like an ugly duckling among swans. But his dad was one of the biggest swans here, so he shielded himself behind him.

Seeing that I wasn’t moving and with a grin on my face, Tixus interpreted that as me making fun of him, and he lost his cool.

He rushed towards me in a flash.

“Let's see how badass you are,” he said as he closed the distance between us in a flash.

He was moving so fast that neither Ethian nor Nikolas, the alphas with the most strength here other than me, could react in time.

At a distance of a few feet, Tixus raised his right hand as a ball of what looked like hot molten metal started to manifest itself.

Tixus and his father, Commander Dythaxio, were vessels for House Nouvis's royal family, the Zillos. As such, they had gotten powers related to House Nouvis, who specialized in controlling Plasma and High-Temperature Gas.

Tixus's power was Plasma Manipulation. He could manipulate Plasma at will and turn it into whatever he wanted to an extent. The skill he was about to use right now was called Plasma ball.

What looked like a ball of molten iron swirling around at high speed appeared in his right hand, but it was actually ionized plasma.

The distance between us was only about five feet when he decided to throw the plasma ball at me.

“Let's see if the famous Prime has what it takes to play with the big boys,” said Tixus as he threw the plasma ball at me.

“This guy,” I said in total disappointment.

At about two feet from me, the plasma ball stopped. It seemed to have hit a wall of something, but it wasn’t clearly visible.

Ripples of air swirled around the plasma ball. Little by little, the ball started to dissipate, and after a few seconds, it was completely gone.

Tixus's face twitched as it displayed the typical gestures; he went from excited to confused to denial and just plain depressed.

He looked at me as he tried to figure out what exactly happened, but I wasn’t going to give him another chance to try again.

“That was it? That’s all your little gas ball can do?” I said in a mocking tone.

“Let me show you a real attack,” I said as an air blade in the form of a crescent started to form in my right hand.
