Transcendent Bloodline: Chaos Rising
Chapter 73- The Calm before the Storm.

Chapter 73- The Calm before the Storm.

The Island of Cypree loomed on the horizon, a sight that filled us with a mix of awe and anticipation. As we drew nearer, the island's unique topography unfolded before our eyes. Two imposing mountain ranges, one to the North and the other to the East, framed a vast central plain. It was in this plain, at the heart of the island, that Nikosia awaited us. This was our destination, and the excitement was palpable.

“We are now beginning our descent,” Damian announced, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and anticipation.

Everyone sat back in their seats and buckled in as the transport descended into the city’s main air base, Haval International.

After a few minutes, the transport finally touched down in Haval and was rerouted to the air base's military zone.

Like in Riyadh, there was a large congregation of people around Haval, all wanting to catch a glimpse of the viral global sensation Prime.

“Man, why don’t these people just go home? Do they have nothing else better to do,” I said, perturbed by their constant badgering.

Damian just looked at me and shook his head in amusement as he couldn’t help but laugh at my grievance.

“You’re sort of a mixture of fantasy and novelty simultaneously. Which many ordinary people find inspiring; they want to grasp a piece of that fantasy, and seeing you in person gives them that,” said Selin as everyone started to off-board the transport.

“Yeah, your existence provides the regular population with something new to cheer at,” said Damian as we got off the transport.

I had never envisioned this. I was a hero, per se, but no, that was not who I was. That was the last thing I wanted to be.

I only agreed to help because my charm was getting auctioned off. I needed to protect my investment, nothing more.

“These people would be better off finding someone who likes the attention and can engage with them on a more personal level,” I thought.

“Damian, when we get back, look into removing all information about me on the global network. I don’t want to be bothered or disturbed by anyone in the future,” I said in an icy tone.

Everyone looked at me with the weirdest expressions on their faces. It seemed like no one was expecting me to say that.

“You can’t do that. What about the people and your fans?” said Selin, with a hint of frustration on her face.

“I don’t care about such things; I’m not in this for fame or recognition,” I said as I walked towards a vehicle transport at the end of the lot.

Selin could sense that I was not interested in what she had to say, so she held her word, but it was evident that she was hurt by my attitude right now.

“Good, that’s how a true warrior needs to act, not caring about fame and fortune, only doing what is right,” said Commander Krotos as he patted Damian’s back as the group boarded the vehicle transport.

“Hmm...” said Damian as he nodded, agreeing with the commander.

The ride from the Haval Air Base to Heritage Square took about 30 minutes. During this time, everyone was involved in their things.

As we arrived at Heritage Square, the vintage auction house appeared. It looked magnificent, especially with all the decorations that had been added to it.

“Isn’t it a beauty,” said Commander Shelong.

Not long after arriving, two gentlemen walked out of the building to meet Commander Shelong and the rest of the group.

“Commander, how was your flight into the island,” said Andrei courteously as he approached the commander.

“It was good. How is everything here,” said the commander as he looked around, “Are the preparations in place?”

Andrei nodded, signaling that the preparations were in place. Next to Andrei stood Roy. He couldn’t help but feel a little out of place seeing the four commanders, plus Nikolas, Selin, Damian, and, of course, me, Prime.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

“Damm, I wouldn’t want to face off against any of these people,” thought Roy.

“Especially him,” he said, looking at Prime.

Roy had seen a lot of Prime over the last few weeks on the news and global networks, so he was very familiar with what Priime could do.

“Commander Shelong, this here is Roy Markz; he owns the charm that will be auctioned off on Saturday,” said Andrei as he presented Roy to the team.

“Mr. Markz, do you have any questions or concerns about this weekend's events? If so, please do tell,” said the commander.

Roy looked at the commander and then at the rest of the group. He then started at Prime, as he felt a familiar presence from him. After a minute, he shook it off as déjà vu.

“No sir, I believe the security is adequate for this weekend. I appreciate you all helping with this,” Roy said respectfully.

“Well, since we all agree, let's go inside the building. Mr. Zosia, can you give us a tour to familiarize ourselves with it?” said Commander Dythaxio.

“Of course, please, ladies and gentlemen, follow me, please,” said Andrei as he began to walk back to the auction house.

The rest of the group followed him, and they toured the inside and outside of the auction house for the rest of the afternoon.

Come evening, commander Shelong invited the Zone 16 people and Prime to dinner.

The Zone 16 people agreed, but I made an excuse about being tired and decided to return to my hotel room. The hotel was a few blocks away on the main street leading to the auction house. It was a 6-star hotel with all the amenities anyone could ask for.

Damian gave me the access code to the room and instructed me to come in through the back entrance to avoid attracting too much attention.

Not many people knew about the arrangement for me to stay at this hotel, so it would suck if people were to find out where I was staying.

I quickly went to the hotel and entered through the back entrance to avoid any possible run-ins with unexpected people. I got to my room and promptly went inside. Once inside, I could finally relax.

“Fuck this is so insane,” I thought as I sat on the couch in the living room.

The room was like a suite with a kitchen, living room, dining room, and a large bedroom with a walk-in RR.

After being in armor all day, I could finally take it off.

“Damm, this feels good, I said after deactivating the DSS and GB skills. I was left with just my battle uniform on.

I looked at my CAD and saw a few messages. Two were from Eva, and one was from Roy.

After reading Eva’s messages, she was clearly not having fun with her family.

“Babe, I miss you. I can't wait to get back to you next week,” she wrote in one of the messages.

The other was a little more fierce.

“Babe, I just want to kill Brandon,” she started by saying.

“He keeps insinuating things between us that are not real, and my parents are starting to believe him. Ahh, he makes me so mad, and my parents, too.”

“I just want to drop everything and go back to Riyadh to wait for you,” she finished writing.

After reading her messages, I felt angry and helpless. I blamed myself for not being able to do anything right now.

“I can’t wait until my awakening,” I thought.

“Once I have the ability, I will protect those close to me,” I said.

I couldn’t do anything else but comfort her for now.

“Beautiful, I’m sorry you are having a hard time. Please don’t do anything rashly. Think that we will see each other only in a few days,” I wrote and sent the message.

I then looked at Roy’s message.

“Khyrum, everything is ready here. Let me know when you’ll arrive so I can go meet you,” he wrote.

“I’m already here but won't have time to meet until the auction day. I’ll reach out to you once I’m close to the auction house,” I wrote quickly and sent the message to Roy.

After answering the last messages, I quickly went in, showered, and changed.

When I got out of the shower, there was a knock on my door.

Knock, Knock, Knock

“No one should know I’m here, so who could this be,” I told myself.

As I got close to the door, I heard Damian's voice through the door.

“Hey Prime, it's me, Damian; I got some food for you,” he said.

I was thinking of ordering some room service, but seeing that Damian had brought food, I quickly opened the door to see him standing there with some plates of food in his hands; his face looked a little flushed.

He smiled weirdly at me before saying, “The food is the best I’ve ever tasted.”

He seemed drunk.

“Had a little too much to drink, have we?” I said as I took the plates from his hands.

“Ahh, you could tell. Well, well, the food was just too good, and they kept bringing wine nonstop, so many of us got a bit drunk,” he said with a bit of a slur.

“Even that stock-up bitch of Selin seems to be drunk. This is the best time to see if she is as cold as they say, “he said with a wicked smile this time.

I wanted to say something to him, but I knew drunk people are just as stubborn as they come, so I just stayed quiet.

Damian seemed to take the hint and just turned around and returned to the elevator.

I closed the door and sat at the table to eat. The food was as good as Damian had advertised —delicious.

After dinner, I sat cross-legged in my bedroom. I got my backpack, which I had brought with my luggage, and took out a man’s silver and black steel bracelet with an engraved dragon totem.

“This will do nicely,” I said as I concentrated.

After a few minutes, I could enter my transcendent state and began to cultivate the bracelet.

“Let's start by adding some attack skills from the wind family,” I told myself.

“Eventually, I’ll also add some healing and recovery skills.”

I started to circulate my powers throughout my body across my hands and fingers; holding the bracelet with both hands, I was able to get the enchantment going. As if in queue, the two movie-like reels appeared and started spinning,

“Hopefully, this won’t take more than a day or two,” was my only thought after I started.
