Nocturnio (28.01.9982 AS)
Tristan followed Sabrina as they left the school, headed to a portal station near the school. Sabrina was all smiles as she led the way.
“I can’t believe my lecture last time actually worked.” She said not being able to hide how happy she was.
“Yeah, yeah, good for you,” Tristan said while looking anxiously around. He didn’t really like to stand out too much, especially since he had refused his status as chosen one, to his demise, that’s what Sabrina could do best.
“Come on don’t be such a spoilsport, let me enjoy the moment!” Tristan could hear her scream for everybody to hear, or at least that’s how it felt for him.
“This was a bad idea,” Tristan muttered as he slowly followed the skipping Sabrina.
“Good our Portal opens in five minutes,” Sabrina said shining like the morning sun as the finally reached the Portal Station. “Do you know what that means?” she added in a playful manner.
“Nothing good for me, I guess.” Tristan rolled his eyes as he answered the for him, most obvious, answer.
“That’s right!” Sabrina said clapping with her hand. “Heyy- Wait, no!” She corrected in a teasing tone. “It means, we get to have more time together as we wait for the Portal to open, isn’t that cool?”
“Yeah” Tristan once again rolled his eyes as he cheered to please Sabrina.
“You know having fun once in a while isn’t as bad as you think, you should give it a try for once,” Sabrina said in an out of character serious tone and looked exhausted out of the windows of the Portal Station into the snowy streets.
Tristan didn’t know how to react, to this sudden change of mood and just answered her with a puzzled look on his face. Not even his passive could help him out this time. Even if he tried to use his passive to figure out Sabrina, all he got as a response was that he should trust her and to not try to dig deeper into her affairs.
“You know, you might think, you’re the only one that has it rough, but you should start looking around you, everybody here in this station carries their own package. Sure, the size of the package might not be as big as yours, but they still give their best in not letting everybody see what’s inside of them. That’s why you should try to smile once in a while and try to take it easy instead.”
Sabrina continued talking in this melancholic voice while still staring at the falling snow. Suddenly she shook her head slowly before turning towards Tristan once again all smiles, “and you soon will meet the master, so you better enjoy this moment of peace before the storm.”
“Master? Wait, what do you mean by the master? I thought this training session was supposed to be just between you and me!” Tristan said his eyes bloodshot in anger.
“Calm down, it’s not like it is a bad thing, the master is going to train you, and I’m sure you can trust master. She isn’t a bad person unless she’s teaching you how to fight.” Sabrina said hugging herself to stop herself from shuddering too much.

“Doesn’t sound good,” Tristan answered as he once again activated his passive ability to check if he really could trust Sabrina, just to receive the same answer he always did.

Although Tristan and Sabrina were still in Nocturnio, Tristan could feel a completely different atmosphere when they walked out of the richly decorated Portal Station. The streets were cleaner and broader than in front of the Guardian Academy. None the modern skyscrapers that filled most of the streets of Nocturnio could be seen except a little hint of their roofs from afar.
“Pretty neet,” Tristan mumbled as he walked through the long streets filled with Gothic, Victorian and Classic Mansions. He had been in this part of Nocturnio quite a few times when he escorted Abigail back home after a night shift in his Lab. Those times though, he couldn’t see much of this part of the city because he would always open a gate directly to Abigail’s bedroom.
“If you say so,” Sabrina answered casually as she led him towards a big Victorian Style Mansion not too far from the Portal Station.
“Well, it’s not like I haven’t seen such pompously decorated houses before, it’s just that I never actually have seen so many of them pile up in such extent. It kinda feels like this part of the City is exclusive for a certain part of the population.” Tristan said, a troubled expression on his face.
“Well, that’s because it is. Officially everybody can buy a mansion here if the got the pocket change to do so, but in reality, only people close to the three clans are allowed to buy property around here. But let’s not talk about unpleasant things.” Sabrina said with an uncharacteristically sad voice before hiding once again behind a mask of happiness.
“You see this place is really faaaar away from school if you would walk the way from here it would take you a few days! It’s crazy how big this City is, in reality, isn’t it? I mean everything feels sooo close but in reality, we are days away from school, whoever invented the Portals was a genius… almost as big as the one, who invented the Commu.”
“Yeah.” Tristan didn’t know how to respond to Sabrina’s words.
“And I didn’t just say that because I’m talking with the guy who invented the Commu,” Sabrina said with a teasing voice. “No let’s hurry, the master doesn’t have time to waste.”
Both of them entered the mansion and were greeted by a horde of servants. Against Sabrina’s will, one of the servants led the way towards the training grounds of the mansion. The training grounds were in the catacombs of the mansion, which made Tristan feel a little uncomfortable.
After all the last time he had visited the catacombs of a mansion the person he cared the most for had been killed in front of him. Thus, Tristan had his passive active all the time and kept his eyes wide open to feel if it was a trap or not.
But he couldn’t feel any danger coming from Sabrina who followed the servant making funny faces behind him, so the servant wouldn’t notice.
After a while, they finally stopped in front of a big door that leads to the training grounds of the mansion.
The servant opened the heavy looking door with ease. So that Tristan and Sabrina finally could now enter the training grounds.
“The young mistress has arrived.” The young man said bowing towards the woman sitting on a luxurious golden throne in the middle of the room.
“Good.” Tristan could hear a familiar female voice say. No, this voice was more than familiar, it was a voice he knew since his birth. It was a voice he would recognize where ever he went.
Tears welled up in Tristan’s greyish green eyes as they met a pair of eyes with the very same colour. Those greyish green eyes were also filled with tears.
“… Ahem… I’m Lamia Schatten… And… Sabrina asked me if I … also could help one of her friends with his training… Since I’m training her, I thought … it- it wouldn’t be thatbadof an idea…” Lamia stopped to take a deep breath to stop the tears from falling down her rosy cheeks. “Feww… Where was I… Oh, yeah… I hope you don’t mind me helping you out training.”
“…” Tristan just nodded not being able to say more.
