Nocturnio (5. 2.9974 AS)
Just one day after they had gotten home from their trip to Aster, Dolores told them she had gotten a really important ‘Message’ and she had to leave the city for a few days. Therefore, Laura was now staying with Tristan and Nana. When Tristan asked her if she knew where Dolores was going she avoided the topic. Laura wasn’t a good liar, so it was obvious why she would avoid the topic.
Although, Tristan would have loved to visit his laboratory and try out the new data he had gotten from the Portal Station for his research, he had to stay at home. Just because of Laura being there. He was trying to hide his foul mood as he read a book in the living room of his apartment. Laura and Nana were also sitting on the couch in the living room.
“I would have never thought that Mutti is in the Human Council, she looks so young!” Laura said. “Yeah, she really looks young for a human that is, but it can’t be helped since she is an Elder too.” Tristan looked at them as if he wanted to ask more about that topic, but decided not to. He looked down and continued reading his book.

Tristan and Laura had walked like usual to school. In their classroom, they met with Abigail, who was surrounded by Seria and Richard. Tristan and Laura looked at each other and prepared themselves for a battle. They hurried towards Abigail, to see if she needed help but what happened next, took them totally aback.
“We are incredibly sorry for what we did. The past two months we spent with our therapist reflecting on our actions.” Seria started bowing towards the three of them. “And we came to the conclusion, that our actions were stupid and not befitting for geniuses like us.” Richard also bowed. “Therefore, once again we are terribly sorry!” both of them said synchronized.
“I- I hope we can start a new…” Seria said shyly looking somewhat scared of Laura. Laura faked a smile. “Of course we will accept this apology, right Abby and Trist?” Both of them nodded also faking smiles. Of course the three of them wouldn’t forget that easy. But once they had heard about Seria’s and Richard’s punishments they decided to try and be friendly to them. So they wouldn’t snap at them once again.
Miss Doctri walked into the scene and smiled at them brightly. “Nice to have you two back!” After the incident had happened, Miss Doctri had made sure to always arrive early to class. “Tristan, may I have a minute of your time?” She asked Tristan out of the room.
Once they were out of the classroom, she activated an item. The effects of the items allowed them to talk without people eavesdropping on them. “I’ve been thinking” She started. “You have already shown me that your skills are beyond of what we expect a first year to know. So I asked the principal if I could start teaching you more advanced spells.”She stopped and looked towards Tristan.
She summoned a book. “This book contains up to ‘High Super Devil’ illusion spells. You have already shown me that you can master up to ‘High Dragon’ spells. So I hope you don’t disappoint me and also master the spells in this book. You know, because on your next exam you will have to perform them for me.” She smiled brightly.
‘As if I don’t have already enough to do!’ Tristan’s inner voice screamed. He tried not to show his true feelings and thanked Miss Doctri. “Oh, that’s nothing, it’s my job to support the talent of my students.” She smiled, not oblivious to the forced smile on Tristan’s face.
Miss Doctri started the class right after entering the classroom. “What did she want from you?” Laura asked Tristan. “Nothing, just wanted to ask me if I was bored by the stuff we do in class. You know, because it is so rare that a student aces the semester finals.” Laura smiled wryly. ‘Rare’ was an understatement. No first year had ever aced the semester finals.

Laura had stayed with them for more than a week. This morning, Dolores had returned from her trip. This meant, Laura wasn’t staying with them anymore and he could use his decoy and finally go do some research. Tristan was in a very good mood. As he tried to cast the new version of decoy he had learned from the book Miss Doctri had given him.
His new clone didn’t look much different than the one he had been casting. The only difference was that this clone was also able to talk unlike his old decoy. Tristan had added and extracted a few things from the magic circle of the spell suggested by the book. Now it would be really hard to tell the difference between him and his clone.
Satisfied with his handy work, he opened the gate to his laboratory. He went straight on to his table and started to use the information he had gotten from the Portals. He took a small gemstone and started to enchant it with the very same enchantments he suspected the Portals were enchanted.
BOOOOOM!
Tristan was thrown into the air as the gemstone he had been enchanting exploded. “As expected, the catalyst can’t contain so much information. Too much information causes the mana to flow unsteadily and the whole thing blows up!” Tristan mumbled and as he stood up his knees still shaking. “I just need something to stabilize the mana flow, so I can distribute the pressure equally over the whole gemstone, so it won’t blow up.”
So he gave it another try, this time trying to enchant a stabilizer into the catalyst.
BOOOOOM!
And he was sent flying again. Shaking, he stood up and tried it another time.
BOOOOOM!

“I’m not gonna give up!” he screamed as he was lying on the ground, trying to stand up.

“Are you ok? You know you can talk to me about everything?” Abigail said as she watched the beat up Tristan take his place in class. A whole month had passed, but up until now his catalyst had always been exploding on him. “Yeah, sure I’m fine.” Tristan answered with a genuine smile. “I managed to do it!” he whispered into Abigail’s ear. No one besides them was in the room.
“Do what?” She smiled with him. “Remember the research I told you about? Yes, I’m done researching. Yesterday I finally did it! I managed to do it! And it works!” Abigail looked at him confused. “I don’t know what that means, but good for you!” Still smiling Tristan answered “Don’t worry, you will know soon enough.”
Ater (12.4.9974 AS)
A pale man with long greasy black hair, tied up in a pony was standing in front of the Merchants Guild. His black eyes were pointed towards the big sign saying “Merchants Guild Ater”. He exhaled a before entering the building.
He was about to press his full lips to a smile as he saw the receptionist, but decided not to. He knew it was a bad idea to force a smile, he had tried it already at home in front of a mirror, but nothing good had come out of it; His big square nose didn’t look good when he smiled.
The beautiful receptionist recognized his face and led him to the Guild Master who was expecting him. He had already been here last week and gotten himself an appointment with the Guild Master.
He entered the office of the Guild Master. The big room was kept simple, it was filled with things one needed in an office, nothing more and nothing less.
The man, who was wearing a black suit, that didn’t fit him correctly, sat down after shaking hands with Caleb, who was wearing a well fitting grey suit.
“How can I help you?” Caleb went straight on to business; he didn’t have time to waste with an unimportant business like this. The black haired man forcefully swallowed his saliva and stated the reason he was there.
“I’m not really good with this business stuff. What I’m good at is researching. To be honest, I seldom come out of my laboratory.” The man smiled wryly. “I came here to present you the fruits of my newest research. I have no doubt someone like you, will know its true value.” He took out a small but thick red crystalline plate. He handed it over to Caleb.
“What is this? All I see is a gemstone.” The confused Caleb held the plate and looked at the man. The man took out another plate out of his pocket and activated it. It glowed a little. Suddenly the plate in Caleb’s had started to blink and to ring. “Press the blinking light.” The young man said smiling.
Caleb pressed the blinking light. The ringing was over and the man started to whisper into his plate. His voice could be heard clearly out of the plate in Caleb’s hand. Caleb blinked at it dumbfounded.
“It is a long range instant communication item.” The man said and started to laugh maniacally. “L… long range?” Caleb asked. He had never been speechless in his 150 years as Guild Master, but right now he couldn’t bring himself to say anything more than repeat the man’s words.
“Yes, a long range instant communication item! I’m sure you know what this item means right, Mister Tod?”
Caleb exhaled. Of course he knew. It meant the world like they knew would change forever. It also meant that whoever invested in this item would turn into one of the richest persons of the continent.
“May I ask for your name again” Caleb asked politely. “Of course” the man smiled. “I’m Seigfried Halblicht. The inventor of this little baby” He said as he caressed the crystalline plate in his hand. “May I call you Seigfried?” The man nodded. “Siegfried, I see your little baby is able of instant communication, but how big is it range?”
“How big is this continent?” Caleb looked baffled. “Yes you can communicate with everyone in our continent with my babies. If you don’t believe me… May I prove it to you?”
Before Caleb was able to react Siegfried had already grabbed his arm. “By the way I’m a teleporter, I hope you don’t mind…” Siegfried dragged Caleb to Oidche.
“What… What in the world are you doing! Where are… Oidche? Why are we in Oidche?” Caleb’s mood was getting foul.
“Don’t worry Mister Tod I said, I would prove it, didn’t I?” Caleb’s bloodshot eyes stared at Siegfried. “How is this gonna help you that!” He shouted. “Don’t worry I’ll prove it to you!” Siegfried said while disappearing into thin air.
Caleb sighed. “I should have known better. When I first met him last week I felt something was off with him… I just couldn’t pin point it…”
Last week they had met for the first time. Siegfried had waited hours outside the Merchant’s Guild just to talk to him. Caleb admired the man’s will and so had decided to give him an appointment to present his idea.
As Caleb was still murmuring to himself the plate, he was still holding onto, started ringing. Caleb touched the blinking light and heard the voice of the Guild’s receptionist. The confused woman insisted, the weirdo had told her to talk into the wierd plate she also told Caleb she was still in Ater.
After the call had ended, Siegfried appeared again in front of Caleb. He was smiling brightly, what made him look like a psychopath. “Didn’t I tell you I would prove my babies are able to do it?” He said with an ‘I told you so tone’.
“Fine if you bring me back, I will lend you as much money as you need to start up your business.” Caleb said to him. Siegfried grabbed him again by the arm and they were back in Caleb’s office.
“That would be ten million Kroten” Siegfried told Caleb. “What?” Caleb couldn’t follow him. “I mean, I need ten million Kroten to start up my business.” Siegfried answered calmly. Caleb sighed. “You don’t even want to know the terms and conditions?”
“I told you, I’m pretty bad at socializing and stuff. Arm… Ah... Before I forget it, please don’t tell anyone I’m the inventor of this item. I’m not good in dealing with people and I don’t want people to visit me in my lab…” Siegfried looked apologetic.
“Don’t worry” Caleb smiled, he felt a little bit bad for what he was about to do, but he had stepped into a gold mine. It would be too bad if other people tried to get a piece of it.
The next hour they spent working out the terms and conditions. Caleb had tried to get as much out of it as he could, but after he signed the contract he realized, he wasn’t getting much out of the deal. Caleb looked at the contract, who was supposed to favor him, putting him into a disadvantageous position. “He played me…” Caleb started to laugh merrily. “He made me look like goddamn novice. What an interesting fellow. ”

After visiting the Merchant’s Guild Siegfried had gone and visited the Stonemason’s Guild and the Enchanter’s Guild. He had also created some contracts with their Guild Masters and was now ready to start with the mass production of his item.
Siegfried was done. As he reached his room, the Illusion’s magic he had used to disguise himself was starting to wear off. He turned back to his old self. He looked at the mirror in his room. Now he was back being Tristan. He smiled “Here comes the money” He mumbled with a big smile on his face.
