“I wasn’t going to do anything to your princess anyways, I’m not as stupid as getting a whole race of birdbrains mad at me.” Tristan said annoyed, to the man moving towards him. “So would you please be kind enough and let me kill this idiot.” He pointed his black long sword towards the motionless Viktor.
“Unfortunately, I can’t let you do as you please.” Dietrich answered with a serious voice. “And don’t you think you’re being a little too rude for someone in your situation?”
“Not really.” Tristan said in a careless tone. “You might be right, I don’t stand a chance against you as I am now, but that guy over there does.” Tristan pointed to the point where Dietrich had entered the barrier; Melodias was standing over there, a serious expression in his face.
“If I gauged your abilities correctly, he’s an inch stronger than you.” Tristan said with a poisonous voice. “Of course, this evaluation is free of bias.” Tristan added, smiling like only a devil could.
“Kyaaahh” Clair exclaimed in surprise, expecting her new friend to be in danger.
Tristan taunts had caused Dietrich to suddenly lose his cool: In no time he had reached his top speed and hand swung his swords towards Tristan throat.
–But
Tristan or better said Schattenklinge was able to easily dodge the attack and to leap towards Melodias, hiding behind him.
“That’s enough!” Melodias called out towards Dietrich. “I knew that the Seraphs don’t have any type of honor, but to attack a child at full speed… I thought you were better.”
“…”
It took Dietrich a few seconds to recover from the shock of Tristan dodging his attack as if nothing had happened. He had known about the princess’s speed, but he had never imagined someone to match or even surpass that speed.
“As if that one is still a child.” Dietrich pointed towards Tristan who continued to smile like a devil while staying safe behind Melodias.
Melodias answered proud. “Well, he is one of our prodigies, he’s only 10 years old.”
Dietrich’s and Clair’s eyes almost popped out as they heard Melodias’ words. “To believe someone the same age as the princess can be stronger than her!” Dietrich let out slip as he was deeply shocked.
Stolen story; please report.
“Really, and I here thought, he just looked younger than he really is.” Clair said amused.
“Actually, I’m the one that is impressed by the princess!” Tristan exclaimed full of guilt, of having Schattenklinge take over a few times. “As I already said earlier to her, she was a formidable opponent and she showed me that not all Seraphs are birdbrains, just most of them.” Tristan sent a devilish smile at Dietrich, getting some giggles of Clair.
“Tristan, that’s enough.” Melodias said with a serious tone. “So, how about it, old man? Should we go at it again or should we call it a day? We could say this incident was a draw and both parties retired without any serious loses on each side.”
Dietrich looked annoyed at Melodias. “I don’t mind counting this little encounter as a draw. But we are going to keep hunting for the Wild Elder walking around this city and trust me as soon as we meet it we’ll eliminate it!”
Trying to hold back his laughter Tristan, who had walked towards Ai and helped her out of the barrier he had encircled her earlier. “I hate to have to break it to you old man, but that won’t be possible, we already saved that Wild Elder from your claws, right Ai?”
He said reaching for Ai’s hands with a bright smile. “Tell me, what you would rather do; Go to a school that actually teaches you useful magic, where all the students are as talented as you, or die by the hands of that man over there!” He pointed towards Dietrich whose face was getting darker and darker.
Ai looked puzzled at Tristan. “Why do you even such an obvious question who would chose the latter one? No one could be so stupid of wanting to rather die than enjoying such a magnificent school! – Also, why am I even answering such a question right now, I should be the ones asking questions!” She said and took Tristan’s hand to stand up.
“How about we leave your questions for later, I promise you can ask me anything you want. Yeah, me and Laura will spend days answering your questions so don’t worry, we’ll clear all your doubts… Now that I think about it, where is Laura?”
“She is unconscious over there.” Ai pointed. “… Heyy! You avoided my question! Why does it feel like I’m making a pact with Mephistopheles himself right now?”
“You’ll see soon, now help me with her legs, I don’t have any intentions to give her a princess carry to the infirmary.” Tristan said as he was looking if Laura really was just unconscious.
He touched the catalyst on his armband and started casting healing magic. The magic he used on his friend wasn’t on the same level of the magic a Seraph or Leo could use, but it would still help Laura to get better.
“So, that girl is the Wild Elder?” Dietrich asked disgusted, as he saw her. “Well, then I’ll be taking my leave.” He said not sparing them a second look, pointing towards the Seraph squad that had just entered the crumbling barrier. “Carry them to the infirmary, I’ll carry the Princess.”
He took Clair in a Princess carry, and walked towards a spot in the barrier, where the barrier had almost completely crumbled away.
“Well then, I’m taking my leave, I hope not to meet any of you soon again.” He said with cold worlds, while the annoyed Clair was waving at Tristan, who had passed the task of healing Laura to a group of Demon’s that had come through one of the holes in the barrier. Tristan bowed towards her with exaggerated movements, causing Clair to blush a little.
“Hey Dietrich, I know you want to play cool and all, but I think I’m still able to walk by myself.” She said to Dietrich, who gave her a shocked look, before disappearing into a sea of golden bubbles.
“Why do I feel sorry for her?” Tristan asked Ai, who answered him with a confused look.
