Preparations for the Party

Obscurati (5.12.9980 AS)

Mala was sitting in the in a broad palatial room. In front of her, was a woman she had never seen before, she was kneeling in front of them her straight long brown hair was tied behind her head in a bun.

Mala smiled shyly towards her, not knowing how to react to said person. She knew the woman belonged to a side family of the Zerstörung Clan, but she had never heard of said family. Which seemed strange, because said family seemed to be quite important for the Zerstörung.

“They are our hitman.” Yaru explained to her, sensing how Mala was lost after being thrown into this situation.

Mala didn’t say anything but just looked towards her father, who for some reason seemed more anxious than the time she had first met Yaru.

“It’s an honor for our small family to have the founder of the clan and the next clan head visiting us. Especially since we are such an insignificant side family” the woman said, bowing towards Yaru and Mala ignoring Ladir.

‘Why is she being so openly hostile towards the current clan head? And why isn’t dad reacting to her provocation?’ Mala asked herself looking at her father, who looked even more uncomfortable.

“Where is Isil? He is always fun to have around?” Yaru asked looking around.

“Well, you know he isn’t well to speak of a certain someone here.” The woman’s eyes landed on Laidir.

“Oh.” Yaru covered her mouth with a stunned expression. “Well, that certain someone is really a good for nothing, so I won’t say much about this matter, anyways how is your granddaughter doing?”

The woman looked uncomfortable hearing that question. “Fine, I guess. It’s been years since I last saw her; you know her mother doesn’t want to have anything to do with the clan anymore.”

“What a shame, she was soooo talented… If only some people here had a backbone and knew how to control themselves.” Yaru said smacking the back of Laidir’s head.

Mala who continued smiling was lost, she didn’t even know her role in this room nor what she was supposed to do in this situation. She just felt like an alien that just had arrived a new planet. ‘Is this how the life of the clan head is? Will I have to deal daily with situations like this once I’m next the clan head?’ She wondered uneasily.

Mala was brought back from her thoughts as Yaru cough slightly to ensure, she had Mala’s attention. “Well, I that’s enough of pleasantries, don’t you think Kila? And it’s obvious why we are here; we want you to dispose of someone.”

The look in the face of the woman named Kila changed from a calm and collected one into a more serious and determined. “All I need is a name and the person in question will be dealt with.”

“That’s what I wanted to hear, but you see the people we want you to dispose of are top level VIP’s, so it won’t be as easy as you think.”

Kila laughed awkwardly. “What’s their fighting level?”

“I don’t know, probably not over Super Devil.”

“You scared me there a little; I thought you wanted us to kill that Schatten woman.” Kila sighed in relief.

“Well, I won’t ask for the impossible no Mortal can kill Lamia. I still don’t know what the Schatten are doing. Why are they waiting so long to get her out of her position and announce the next head of their clan.”

“According our intelligence gathered, the future head of the Schatten is the complete opposite of their current clan head. A total loser, he is as old as our Mala, yet he hasn’t even reached King level. That’s why Lamia can’t retire.”

Yaru smiled amused. “Poor woman, anyways let’s go back to your targets. We want you to kill Siegfried and Nana.”

“As in the richest persons in our society?” Kila asked baffled. “Why would you want to do that?”

“I thought you would do your work with no questions asked.”

“Erm… Of course, we don’t have to know, but if we dispose of these people, we might cause a civil war!”

“I don’t mind, we’ll just have to show them the power of the Clans.” Yaru answered coldly.

“If it is as you say, I don’t mind. We will prepare a team of our best men and women, to take care of the job.”

“So, Isil and you will take care of this? That’s a great idea, but I want you to take Mala with you. As the future clan head, she has to see what goes on behind the scenes and how it feels to murder someone cold bloodily.”

Mala’s fake smile broke for a few moments as she heard Yaru’s words.

“You haven’t killed anyone yet, right darling?” Yaru asked with a curious tone.

“No, I haven’t.” Mala answered while shaking her head.

“Good, good, there is no better ways to get your first blood than by killing the two richest individuals in our world.” Yaru said with a cheerful voice, clapping her hands.

“… Yeah…” Mala answered insecure.

Nocturnio (31.12.9980 AS)

“Are you coming to the party with me?” Nana asked Tristan who was sitting in their living room a heavy looking book in his hands.

“Nope” Tristan answered, looking up from the book. “I don’t want to go to ta party there is no one of my age, also I might meet my parents there.” He explained further with an annoyed tone.

“That’s exactly why you should come with me! You’ll rarely get opportunities like this, you know! And wouldn’t it be nice seeing your parents after such a long time?” Nana said enthusiastically.

“You might be right, but what of it? Even if I meet them tonight, it doesn’t mean I can go back home and play a happy family with them.” Tristan closed his book and put it on the table, to be able to talk to Nana properly.

“… But you know I’m sure your parents would be really happy to meet you again!” Nana once again tried with a cheery voice.

“They wouldn’t, there is a reason why they gave me away…” Tristan smiled bitterly as he said those words, not because he felt that way. No, because he knew his parents loved him and he had just said those words, so Nana would leave him alone.

The reason why he didn’t want to the party as Tristan was because he was also invited as Siegfried and this was a social gathering he couldn’t refuse no matter how quirky Siegfried’s character was.

The smile disappeared from Nana’s face and she threw herself on Tristan to hug him tightly. “I’m so, so sorry.” She whispered to Tristan, doing her best not to cry.

Tristan returned the hug and enjoyed her warmth for a few seconds before he finally answered. “And also, as long I have you, I don’t need any other parent or family.” His words just caused that the intensity of Nana’s hug increased.

“…. I… can’t ... breathe…” Tristan said exhausted as he was being crushed by Nana.

“Oh, sorry.” Nana said finally letting Tristan free. “Well, if you really don’t want to come, then there isn’t much I can do.” She said, straightening the long silver-blue cocktail dress she was wearing. “Does it look fine?” She asked Tristan once she was done putting her dress back how it had been.”

“It makes you look at least 200 years younger” Tristan answered showing two thumbs up.

“You sure know how to please a woman; I’ll have to keep a good eye on you, so that you don’t turn into a Casanova.” Nana said giving Tristan a kiss on his cheek. “Well, then I’m gone.”

“Bye” Tristan waved at her with one hand, with the other he was trying to clean away the lipstick from his cheeks.

“See you tomorrow.” Nana waved back and closed the door behind her.

Tristan sighed in relief when nana finally left their apartment. There wasn’t much time left and his Transformation spell, a saint level spell he had developed out of his Illusions Magic took quite some time to cast.

He had chosen to develop this spell because of his role as Siegfried. Although, Siegfried’s quirky character demanded him to often stay at home and to not attend to many social events, he was still forced to attend to many events like the one this night.

A simple illusion even in emperor level wouldn’t do it anymore, or at least Tristan felt that it was too risky to use such a spell to disguise himself.

Tristan opened a gate to the dimension his laboratory was on; there he had created a special room not even Abigail had access to. He walked in the wide room filled with hundreds of rare magical artefacts, most of which he had created himself.

He had created this room just for himself, so whenever he would feel sad, he would come to this room and work on the artefacts to clear his thoughts. Most of the artefacts were useless, but some few had the ability to nuke a City as big as Nocturnio.

Tristan walked towards the broad closet and started looking at the different gala-garments. One was more bizarre then the other. “I don’t know what I was thinking when I created Siegfried.” He sighed exhausted. “Guess, I can’t change it anymore…”

Tristan took out a red smoking with green and blue dots out of the closet to wear at the party. After changing into it, he looked at the mirror to finally start casting his magic, but he couldn’t help to turn red out of embarrassment.

“Come on Tristan, you’ve done it plenty of times! Besides the suit might look silly, but the enchantments on it could even stop a death spell from someone as powerful as Dunkler… Probably…” He said to himself out lout clapping with his hands on his cheeks, trying to convince himself to wear the suit.

“And here we go again, it’s always the same with you! Let’s just skip this cheap comedy act and go straight to the scene where you finally cast that stupid spell of yours!” Schattenklinge said rolling his eyes.

Tristan squinted his eyes. “Why are you so interested in going to the party as fast as possible?”

“I don’t know I just feel like this party is going to be real fun! And don’t you want to go there as soon as possible to meet your parents?”

“Well… I guess you are right, I can’t be late when I’m one of the honor guests.” Tristan answered convinced and started casting the spell by using the gemstone on one of his armlets

After over one and a half hours he was finally done with the spell and the man in front of the mirror wasn’t Tristan anymore but Siegfried.
