“And what did happen then?” Helles asked Clair with anticipation in her voice, she was listening to Clair’s adventure in Terra.
“Well, I went to save that poor Wild Elder, but he turned out to be a Demon and not a weak one!” Clair responded with an annoyed tone, trying to hide her grin.
“Really? Did you beat that strong Demon?” Helles asked in response.
“I couldn’t he was too strong, for me, I even used my trump card: a spell so strong, it’s actually forbidden to cast in Terra, of course I didn’t know about that restriction back then…”
“Well, it can’t be helped, there was nothing you could do, I mean he was older than you right?” Helles tried to console Laura.
“Well, actually he wasn’t older than me; he was pretty much the same age as me.” Clair answered with a cold voice.
“Wait, what? Do you remember his name?”
“His name was Tristan.”
Helles bit her lips. “Next time, next time you meet him, promise me you’ll beat him… Train as hard as you can, to never lose to someone like him ever again!” Helles grabbed Clair by her shoulders and started shaking her as she did so.
“O… K, but what’s gotten into you?”
Helles suddenly calmed down as she remembered Bella’s words. ‘Under no circumstances you’re allowed to tell them about their future partner! They’ll have to figure out themselves and learn to fight as a unit by themselves without your help!’
“Erm… Well, I just don’t like the idea of my ancestor losing to a Demon, heheh” She scratched her head in embarrassment. “Anyways, what did your parents say about your little escapade?” Helles tried to change the topic.
Clair’s mood turned darker than it already was. “They grounded me till I marry that idiot. So, don’t worry, if I ever meet that Tristan again, then I’ll have him pay for what he did to me! Causing me to be grounded for such a long time is truly inexcusable.

“How do you like it here, so far?” Tristan asked Ai, as he helped her carry her stuff inside her room.
“I can’t say I don’t like it.” She tried to smile as cheerful as she could; Tristan was still able to realize she was sad about leaving her home world.
“Good to hear, I think you’ll like it even better once you get used to live here.” Tristan tried to cheer her up.
“Yeah, and I also get to attend the same school as you, which means that if I give my best I’ll be able to reach your level one day!” She honestly said getting all fired up.
“As if I would stay on this level, you’ll have to train quite a lot if you ever want to catch up.” Tristan said in a teasing tone.
Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.
“Mhm, I’ll catch up to you, no matter what, doesn’t even matter if I’m not half Demon, but half Seraph.” Ai said with determination.
During their stay in Lilith Ai had been tested on what clan she belonged to. This test was used to determine which clan was asked to give her financial support, but the result of the test was a rather rare one: Ai wasn’t a Half-Demon but a Half-Seraph!
Although, rare Half-Seraph were nothing special for Melodias and his underlings, they also knew exactly how they had to deal with the issues of financial support. Every clan was forced to pay one third of the tuition fees and everything else she would need to live in Umbra.
The ones more shocked than anyone else were Laura and Tristan, for both of them it was the first time hearing about a Half-Seraph so they didn’t quite know what to say. Meanwhile, Ai didn’t at first really understand what was going on, and why her friends were that confused when they heard about the outcome of the tests.
Nevertheless, they didn’t change their attitude towards her friends because of her origin, which made it easier to say goodbye to her old life. Leaving the orphanage turned out to be more difficult for Ai, than she could have ever thought of.
“You know I always thought I would leave this place with a big smile on my face, but now-” Ai had said to Tristan barely being able to speak holding in the tears. Especially the twins made it hard for her to leave, but in the end she didn’t have a choice.
She left Terra behind her moving to dorms affiliated to the Guardian Academy, since she would soon start visiting said school. And now she was getting herself more comfortable in her room. Or much rather said apartment, since she not only got a five on five meters big room, but also a separate kitchen and bathroom.
“I didn’t expect you to own these many girly things!” Tristan pointed out as he put down a big box filled with teddy bears.
Ai blushed and shoved Tristan by side. “Well, I’m a girl after all! Of course I’m gonna own stuff like this! And why did you even change the subject?! I was just thinking how funny would be if I was able to be in the same class as you again.”
Tristan sent Ai a judging glare. “Unfortunately, that won’t be possible; I’m three grades ahead of you, and in the prodigy class no less.”
“What, but we’re the same age!” Ai said with an baffled tone.
“Age isn’t the deciding factor for you to join the correct grade.” Tristan said with an all knowing voice. “The biggest factor is the talent one has, if you’re talented enough, you can join the school from a very young age on, for example me and Laura have been on this school five years by now!”
“Five years? Didn’t you just say you were in the third grade?”
“One grade here takes two years.” Tristan answered Ai, who was already lost by the schooling system in this new world, she had just moved to.
“I don’t quite get it, but it’s not like I need to know, all I have to do is: My best!” She said in a cheerful manner.
“Yeah, that’s what you need to do.”

It was early in the morning, when Laura was awakened by Dolores screams. In a hurry she put on her slippers and walked towards where the noise was coming from. She slowly walked to her mother’s room.
Laura knew there were few people who could match her mother in strength so if someone got her so worked up, that person must be really strong. Therefore, she did her best to erase her presence as she slowly looked through the door, ready jump and run as fast as she could.
But to her surprise she didn’t find anyone but her mother in the room. Dolores was screaming at her Commu. Laura had never seen her mother so mad before unless she was talking about her father, so she slowly tried to leave ASAP.
“Laura?!”
She heard her mother snapping at her.
“What are you doing there? You know you can’t eavesdrop on me!”
Laura turned white, she knew she had messed up. If there was one thing she shouldn’t do is to talk to Dolores when she was endangered because of her father.
“Nothing, I thought you were in trouble… since you were screaming and all…” She answered with an impish voice.
All the anger was suddenly gone from Dolores. “What am I even doing here? I’m sorry, I was just talking to your grandparents and it looks like they want to meet you.”
