Run for Your Life

Bianca Mountains (28.01.9982 AS)

Clair was standing on top of one of the many hills that laid the foundation to the Bianca Mountains, a mountain range that formed a wall separating the White Continent from the rest of the other Continents in Terra.

The White Continent was an enormous island located on the North- East of Solum, the City, in which Clair and Tristan had met and fought each other for the first time. The continent’s name was originated by the characteristic colour of the white marble stone mainly found in the continent. Thus the scenery in front and behind her was white, not only because of the snow covering as far as the eyes could reach.

Clair had previously visited the White’s Continent biggest city, Roche, before. Back then she was accompanied by Sariel and Dietrich and had mainly done her duties as the representative of the Seraph’s ruling family in front of the Elders of reigning over the White Continent.

This time she was all alone her back towards the Peaks shimmering in white. A gush of cold wind blew past her, causing her to shiver a little before readjusting the environmental spell surrounding her. After all, all she was wearing was a shoulder free white and blued dress that allowed her to present her golden wings to the rest of the world.

She looked towards the White Lake, a sea like lake in the middle of the island. The lake’s water was frozen, allowing for the snow to cover it in a white layer, giving off vibes of eternal tundra.

“Why are you the one who is allowed to teach my descendant how to teach magic?” She could hear a female voice, Clair knew all too well, ask disappointed.

“Because you suck, now be a good birdy and go back to the hideout.” A male voice retorted.

Clair couldn’t help but smile hearing the strange exchange. She could hear the voices growing stronger as she just stood there, but she didn’t feel any threat as them, she didn’t even bother looking behind her, towards the approaching people.

“Like, hell I will! And why did you choose such a cold and desolate place to train her anyways?” Helles asked seeming a little out of breath.

“She doesn’t turn into a wimp like you.” The male's voice answered growing more and more annoyed.

“Still, this isn’t a place where a princess should be,” Helles answered once again.

“Listen, if you want you can follow me, but please just for the love of Aetas shut up for once.” The male voice said plead Helles while the presence surrounding the speaker seemingly picked up speed.

“Hello, there you must be Lady Clair.” The black-haired man with grey eyes bowed towards Clair. He was wearing a thick black coat.

“Yes, that’s me, but you don’t have to be so formal around me, after all, you are the one who is going to teach me how to use Demonic Magic aren’t you?” Clair answered taken aback a little by the man’s greeting.

“Well, I didn't intend on staying all formal anyways, I’m Dunkler.” He reached his hands towards Clair expecting a handshake.

Stolen story; please report.

Clair looked puzzled at him, before reaching out her hand, which was crushed by Dunkler’s big hand.

“Well, you still have to work, on your handshake, only weakling and people that have something to hide have a weak handshake.” Dunkler gave his assessment looking at Clair’s face distorted in pain.

“Hey, why did you harm her?” Helles ran towards Clair trying to heal her Hands. “Oh, boy it looks like he broke a bone or two.”

“Didn’t I say to stay out of my training?” Dunkler glared at Helles pointing his killing intent towards her, to show that this time he was serious with his warning.

Clair stumbled backwards as she felt the pressure coming from Dunker's gaze and Helles slowly retreated away from Clair.

“Now, that you say it… I think I left the stove on… hehe… “ Helles said and started walking back the way she had come from, not turning her back towards Dunkler who just kept glaring at her.

“Good, now that thing is gone, let us start,” Gunkler said relaxing a little. “As you already know, Bella and Aeatas pointed me out as your new teacher in Demonic magic, mostly because no one is better than me in Shadow’s, Death and Destruction Magic.” He said proudly.

“I hope so,” Clair answered her honest thoughts.

“I hope so?” Dunkler stared at her with bloodshot eyes. “Do you even know who I am? I am the one, who unified the Demonic Clan’s and ruled over the Demon’s for centuries, beating everything and everyone coming in my way until the Gods appeared in this world!” Dunkler said in a loud voice, almost screaming.

“Ok, ok, you don’t have to get like that just because I said something, that doesn’t please you,” Clair said getting a little afraid after being left alone with a psycho like Demon.

“Good, now that you know who I am, let’s start with the training. First of all, do you know why we are here?”

“Because of this item can only teleport me to this place, close to your hideout?” Clair pointed towards the golden armband she had received from Bella, once she had told her that she would be tutored by one of her subordinates in Terra.

“Well, that’s indeed a good reason, but it isn’t all… You see unlike light magic that is all about the flow of mana and feeling the world surrounding you, the three types of Demonic Magic are all about strength and destruction.

You see the closest you’ll get to light magic is shadow’s magic, but they still have big differences. While using Light Magic, you use a lot of resources to purify your mana stream, while using Shadow’s Magic, on the other hand, you don’t waste resources on purifying your mana stream but just concentrate on pouring your power into it.

So one could assume, Shadow’s magic is superior to Light Magic, but that doesn’t have to be the case necessarily. Because the mana is so pure when casting Light Magic, you get many more different ways of applying your magic.

And that’s why we are here, from now on to you will spend most of your nights' training here, trying to survive and getting stronger than before, so you get the feeling for pure power.” Dunkler ended his preach and threw a katana towards Clair.

“This will be your weapon, it won’t allow you to use magic unless, and you cast your spells with a lot of power behind them.”

“So, you want me to cast magic while wielding this sword?” Clair smiled confidently as she heard Dunkler’s words.

“Not exactly. You see, all you have to do is, trying to survive while this modified monster attacks you.” Dunkler pointed towards his shadow, and Clair could see how it formed into a Balck Dragon, that suddenly started attacking her.

She tried to use her lightning magic to pierce through its torso, but the spell was consumed by the Katana in her hands. Realizing why her magic wouldn't cast, she tried to let go of the sword, but she couldn’t, it was as if the sword had become one with her body. Every time she threw it on the ground, it just reappeared on her hands.

“Where is your confident smile gone?” Dunkler said putting on a sadistic smile himself.

“Kyaaaahhhh,” Clair screamed as she was being chased by the Black Dragon.

“Watch out, I heard there are also Frost Beast’s in this part of the mountains,” Dunkler shouted behind her as he floated towards the sky to have a better view of how Clair was doing.
