“Wait, Tristan don’t we have tomorrow our finals?” Ai asked in a serious tone.
“Yeah, the practical exams are tomorrow and then we’re finally done for this year and we can enjoy the summer break! I was thinking of taking you to the beach, for the summer break what do you think about?”
“I… You… You didn’t prepare anything for your finals, right?” Ai asked in a troubled tone.
“Why, should I? Every year, we have the very same exam… They tell us to cast some spells and that’s it. And it’s not like the spells you have to cast are something out of this world, you know.” Tristan answered in a bored tone.
“Ehh… For real? They don’t ask anything that demanding?”
… “Thinking back, I never had to learn anything for school… All the spells I know, I learned for a reason other than passing the finals…” Tristan said with a troubled face. “As far as I can judge unless you get really nervous, you can’t fail. Even if I have been slacking off these past months, you tried your best and improved quite a bit, so you should be in the top two of your year right now.”
“Really, aren’t you just saying this because you want to go watch that play with me?” Ai answered with a suspicious tone.
“Oh, boy, you got me!” Tristan said with a an over dramatic tone. “But I heard this play is really good, and all the couples that watch it stay together until their death.”
Ai blushed a little. “Ok, I will trust you this once.” She said and followed Tristan into the theater.

“Miss Doctri what are you doing here?” Abigail asked, as Miss Doctri walked in to the room, they were supposed to meet up for the practical exams.
“Am I not supposed to be here?!” Miss Doctri asked and summoned her agenda in a panic and started browsing it. “Few, no, I’m clearly supposed to be here...” She wipe the little sweat that had formed on her forehead, before creating a paper out of thin air.
“Since you’re now, capable enough to go on patrols on your on without having to rely too much on your seniors, you’ll have to show what you can do in a real fight. That’s why, you’ll have to fight other recruits as your final exam. But don’t worry; it’s not only about winning or losing, it’s about showing your skill.” Miss Doctri explained the exams while summoning a small black box.
“Tristan you’ll be fighting Laura, the rest of you please come and draw a number from this box to see who’ll be your opponent once I call your name.” Miss Doctri said with a hyped voice.
“Why, are Tristan and Laura get special treatment?” A young boy Tristan had seen before during class, but never spoken to asked with an accusing voice. Getting nods of approval from other students, Tristan didn’t know either.
“Well, that’s because these two are prodigies among prodigies; we want to be able to judge your skills with these fights. Having you getting murdered by one of this two wouldn’t allow us to do that.” Miss Doctri answered with a proud smile.
The laughter of the bystander filled the room, while the boy turned red out of embarrassment.

“Now, let’s move to the arena and start the exams, my colleagues are surely waiting for us.” Miss Doctri signaled them to leaf, once every one had drawn their opponent.

“Laura, Tristan please start, show us how it’s done.” Miss Doctri said signaling them to enter the arena.
“Even if winning doesn’t matter to pass… Today I will be the winner.” Laura said to Tristan with a serious voice. “Even if you haven’t been training for the past month, I won’t show any mercy, I hope you understand how I feel.”
Tristan answered her with a smile and put on a fighting stance. “I won’t go easy on you either.”
“Start!” Miss Doctri screamed form the sidelines.
“Here I come!” Laura said while using her signature move. Enhancing her body with mana and removing all resistance around her with her gravity magic.
Laura disappeared from the point she had just been. ‘Too slow.’ Tristan thought, as he and only he saw Laura running at god speed towards him. He smiled slightly as he saw Laura’s fist fly slowly towards his abdomen.
Tristan tried to lift his hands to block the attack, but - . His body wouldn’t move. Everything froze.
“That woman why is she here?” He screamed at the Laura.
Tristan was seeing Yaru in Laura. Although, Tristan didn’t know, they had similar facial features, because Laura was Yaru’s great grandchild.
Finally Laura’s fist impacted on Tristan sending him flying, crushing into the wall behind him. Before he could recover from the shock, Laura was already there with the follow up punch.
“What was that? How can she be so fast??” One could hear their classmates mumble to eachtoher.. “Luckily we don’t have to fight against such a monster.”
Through the follow up punch Tristan was once again send flying. “AHAHHH, Why, you bitch!” He screamed “I’ll kill, for what you did to Nana!” He screamed at Laura, trying to get his body to finally move once again.
Laura tilted slightly her head, not knowing what he was talking about. ‘Did I hit him so hard, he has lost it? Like I care.’ Laura once again disappeared for everybody but Tristan, who could still see her moving in slow-motion towards her, because he was the only one using a spell on his eyes to better his sight.
This time Laura was setting up for a kick. Tristan who had finally regained control over his body grabbed Laura’s legs and used her momentum to send her flying like an athlete would throw a hammer.
Midair Laura did cast some gravity magic to soften the throw and landed graciously after doing a few front and cork flips.
Tristan’ didn’t give her time, thought to savor her landing; he immediately opened hundreds of gates around her, from where he would send swords flying at her.
*Clank*
The students and teachers watching could hear a metallic sound from where Laura had been sanding, followed with a lot of dust being raised.
Laura in the last minute, Laura had created a very strong gravity field under her, causing all Tristans swords to collapse on the ground.
“Gravity magic what a troublesome magic.” Tristan mumbled to himself, as he still saw Yaru in Laura. “Still, this is my chance to get my revenge.”
This time it was Tristan who disappeared from the view of everyone, even Laura.
Laura activated a gravity field that would repel everything coming her way away from her.
Tristan took out another sword from one of his gates and stabbed it on the ground in front of Laura.. “Such a cheap spell won’t work on me.” He said as Laura’s magic deactivated.
With the sword filled with his mana, he had stabbed on the weak spot of the Magic circle Laura had used to create her gravity field.
*BOOM*
Before Laura could realize what had happened her body was send out flying in a twist. Tristan had caused her to receive a magical back slash.
“Ahhh” She screamed in pain, feeling like her body had been stung by billions of needles. In her pain she wasn’t able to move anymore.
Even before Miss Doctri could realize she wasn’t able to win anymore, Tristan once again disappeared from her view.
He appeared next to Laura who was lying helpless on her stomach. He kicked her in the rips, to turn her around and stepped on her stomach.
“How do you like to be in the receiving end?” Tristan, who was still seeing Yaru in Laura said with a sadistic smile, before ramming his sword in Laura’s chest. He rapidly summoned another sword and rammed it once again into Laura, this time on her stomach.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” Ernesti used his active to create a wall of rubble between Tristan and Laura.
“Killing that bitch, what else-“Tristan pointed towards Laura who was lying there and he finally realized and sank to his knees.
“What… What was I doing…” Tears started forming in his eyes.
