“So why am I here?” Tristan asked with an annoyed tone. “Didn’t I make it clear that I don’t want to have anything with you anymore?”
Aetas sent him a questioning eye, before turning back to his wife.
“But you picked up your training again, so you intend to fight when it breaks out, am I wrong?” Bella asked, walking up and down in the room.
“Not, really Ijust wanted to get strong enough to survive whatever your stupid plan contains.”
“Stupid?!” Bella stopped in her tracks. “How dare you? Do you even know to whom you’re talking with? You know, I could smite you anytime I wanted!” Bella answered in a furious tone.
“Yes, yes, you could, but the fact of me being here right now and still being alive, means that I’m still of some value to you.” Tristan explained in a bored tone.
Aetas sent Bella a look saying this kid sure knows what’s up.
“Why, you?” Bella started turning red in rage, ready to jump on Tristan’s throat any moment.
“It’s your fault you made me smart enough to understand you and also when I say your all mighty master plan is stupid I mean it. I mean from my point of view, giving a mortal the power to kill a god is really stupid. How do you know I won’t team up with Fors and kill you and Aetas? It might be true, that my life sucks because of him up until now, but the real reason why my life sucks is you guys, isn’t it?”
Tristan stopped to see for their reactions. “You see I have as much reason to hate you as I have to hate Fors, so why should I side with you guys?”
Bella’s mouth opened and closed for a moment before she finally regained her composure. An evil grin appeared on her face. “Ok, ok, if you really don’t want to play along anymore, I guess we’ll have to find another champion for our cause. It will be a pain, but it can’t be helped.” Bella started massaging her temples with an annoyed face.
“Wait, that was it?” Tristan asked shocked.
“Yeah, you said you don’t want help anyways and I can’t waste my time in some little brat who does as he pleases. No go.” She opened symbolically pointed towards the door.

“Erm… Wow, that was easier than I thought. Are you sure there isn’t a catch to it?” Tristan asked, not really knowing what was going on.
“To be honest, I can’t say there isn’t a catch...” Bella smiled at Tristan. “But now that you are out I don’t have any obligations of telling you, have I?”
Tristan face froze for a few seconds before he started glaring at Bella. “So, you won’t tell me if I leave? Do you really think I would fall for something like that?”
“Ok, ok, at least it was worth a try. You see, the only catch is that you already are involved in it and even if just as a bystander you’ll have to fight for your life when the time comes and most likely you’ll die a miserable death when that time comes.”
“What?”
“You see, if you stayed with us, I might have shown you ways to survive the fight that is about to come, but you see, I can’t go around wasting my resources in people not willing to cooperate.” Bella said with an amused tone.
“That’s blackmail!” Tristan screamed at her.
“Yes, and no. I’m just showing you two paths you can choose from.”
“Anyways, that won’t change my mind. I’ll just have to prove you wrong and get strong enough to survive whatever lies ahead of me.”
“Good for you, now get going I need time to adjust my plans.” Bella said pointing once again at the door.
“Well, wow, I don’t know what to say. I guess this means goodbye.” Tristan said as he opened a gate to leave.
“Yes, this means goodbye.” Bella said coldly.
“Boy, take this!” Aetas threw a golden armband towards Tristan. “If you’re ever in a pinch or you feel like you changed your mind, just call for us and help will come.”
“Hey, didn’t I throw him out? Why are you being nice to a backstabber like him?” Bella retorted at Aetas.
“It’s the least we can do for him; you ruined his life after all.”
“Ok, boy, now get out of here, my husband and I have something to talk about.”
“Oh, oh, yeah. I didn’t have any intention of staying longer here.” Tristan said and disappeared into his gate.
“Is he gone?”
“Yup, his soul isn’t here anymore.” Aetas answered and Bella dropped the serious face, she had put on at the end.
“He is way too easy. He might be smart, but he still can’t see through something like this…” Bella rolled her eyes.
“Well, this conversation went exactly as you planned after all…”
“First, I wanted to use his will for revenge to get him to train way harder he has been, but then again triggering his will to survive is way better, isn’t it?”
“Yes, after all, his new goal is to live a long and happy life with his girlfriend. Now all that’s left is to find a new future husband for our Clair.”
“Our Clair? Don’t you think it would be funny to throw her into his life just to see the havoc she causes with that other girl?”
For one moment Aetas face froze before he turned towards his wife, emitting a dangerous aura. “You know I won’t allow anyone hurt my Clair’s feelings and I consider having her as part of a harem as something that might hurt her feelings.”
“My Clair? Weren’t you the one who told me not to get too attached to her?”
“Shut up!” Aetas said while turning red.
