Nocturnio (25.10.9979 AS)
“And how’s school going?” Laura asked Ai while they were enjoying their lunch. Due to her spending most of her time in Tristan’s training’s chamber, she hadn’t spent much time with her friends. The only way she would interact with people other than Tristan was during school.
That’s why she had started to enjoy the school’s lunch break more than ever. During this time she finally had time to interact with her friends and socialize with them. Although, training was very important to her, she still wanted to spend time with her friends and thus lunch breaks had become really precious to her.
“I’m really enjoying them!” Ai answered with a bright smile. “Somehow the kids here are way more mature than the kids in Terra, also the level of the we learn here in school goes beyond what I would ever dream to learn in Terra and I can say that after just a little over two months here!”
“Good to hear you’re enjoying yourself so much!” Laura answered genuinely happy for her friend. “And were you already able to make friends with other students?” She asked while she picked a carrot with her fork.
“Yes, I have found one.” Ai answered. “A very nice girl, actually we had already become friends last year once I arrived here and was sent to that prep school that thaught me the social etiquette of Umbra.”
“So she’s also an elder?” Tristan entered the conversation with a serious tone, since it was the first time her heard about Ai’s new friend. He visited Ai every single day in her apartment, and thus was a little surprised after hearing about said friend for the first time. After all it seemed like that girl became Ai’s friend just right after she had arrived in Umbra.
“No, she seems to be a noble or something… It seems she once lost control of her powers and hurt herself badly and that’s why she was sent to the same course I was in, to prep her to regain her powers.” Ai stopped, before continuing in a much smaller voice. “She actually has to wear a mask all day long because of the injury caused by her power.”
“…” Tristan nor Laura could say anything.
“So, if you’ve gotten yourself, a friend, why do you still always eat with us?” Abigail asked with a malicious tone.
It’s not like she didn’t like Ai, actually she thought really highly of het, but that was where Abigail’s problem laid: Ai was not only cute, but also competent and she was also an Elder, this meant she had all of Abigail’s qualities! And all this without behaving likes a hyperactive clown!
No how could she ever be nice to someone like that? And also… She was getting more attention from Tristan than herself. How could a newcomer act that cozy around someone else’s prince? That’s why Abigail would use any opportunity she had to badmouth and bully Ai.
Tristan sent Abigail a glare and had to see she let go of her fork.
“Ouch, what was that for?” She said like a furry towards her big brother.
Ernesti had kicked her from under the table so she would shut up. “I’m really sorry for my sister, sometimes she doesn’t know the difference between a good joke and going too far.” Ernesti bowed slightly towards Ai.
“No worries there, I know she doesn’t mean it.” Ai answered flustered by Ernestis actions.

‘But I meant it!’ Ai swallowed those words and started sulking while she continued her lunch.

Nana was sitting in her office going thought the numbers of her newest opening. As expected it had been a great success. In a little more than five years, she had started her café with Lamia’s help, she had managed to open 32 branch stores of the all over the continent.
Her business was the second fastest growing business on the continent. Everybody interested in economics had heard or had even talked about her business.
The fastest growing enterprise was of course Siegfried Corp, no it went beyond just being the fastest growing enterprise, no, Siegfried Corp had also become over the past years the biggest enterprise in the continent.
These businesses were used by many experts as the prime example of how to lead an enterprise and how to invest ones money. Thanks to these exceptional businesses ran by people with no connection to the main clan’s whatsoever many people started to dream.
Although, in the Demon society everybody was said to have the same rights and opportunities this wasn’t reality. Most of the leading positions in enterprises and the government were occupied by members close to the main Clans, even if there was someone with better qualifications than them.
So, Siegfried Corp and Mitternacht quickly became role models for people with no deep connection to the main Clans or people from minor side families. Siegfried and Nana had shown the world that it was possible to reach the top, with only hard work.
This caused a big boom of small private enterprises opening, causing the guilds to lose many members. Obviously this meant that the Demon society was changing in an immense speed and in a way no one could predict.
Many voices could be heard saying that soon the Three Clans System would collapse and be replaced by a System similar to the one used in the Human world, where the beings most fit and with the most power would rule the masses.
Others said a Civil War was unavoidable: There was no way the main clans would just sit there and do nothing till they were stripped of all their power and influence. So the only way they could establish their rule was by force, but would the population cope with it?
This situation had caused Nana to sigh in despair. She never wanted to be the head of a revolution when she opened the Mitternacht five years ago. No, she just wanted to bake some good treats and make people happy with her food.
She had even thought about giving the command of her enterprise to her secretary, a very capable young woman, belonging to the Lum family a very important family in the Schattenclan. But she was stopped by her secretary.
The woman told her it would hurt the enterprise too much and cause the situation to escalate even causing riots here and there.
*Sigh*
Nana sighed once again before continuing her work. ‘Why was Siegfried so oblivious to this situation?’ They had met a few times, but he always just seemed to go on about how tasty Nana’s food was and ask how he could make the Commu’s better.

A grey haired man was standing in front of a crowd of people. The people in the crowd were the kind of people you wouldn’t want to meet in an alleyway during the night. It seemed like they had never taken and bath or changed their clothes. Just by looking at them one could smell the stench coming from the crowd.
The grey haired man in front of them didn’t look much cleaner as he walked up and down on the improvised stage. Just from the way he was shouting it was clear that he was saying nothing nice. Every time the finished the sentence he waited for the crowd’s reaction.
Most of the time he would get cheers and shouts supporting his cause.
The man smiled, pleased every time he heard the cheers. And once again, he continued with his speech. “And so, I tell you my brothers and sisters; let us burn down the oppressing chains created by the Clan society! Let us shake their society by eliminating the traitors. The traitors that went and got themselves involved with the Clan’s, let us free ourselves from their oppression!” He finished so his speech and rammed a knife into the board where Siegfried’s and Nana’s name were written on.
The crowd cheered once again as they saw the speaker’s action.
“Yeah, we won’t let them suppress us anymore!” the men an woman in the crowd agreed with the man, who this time didn’t wait for the crowd’s reaction but was already on his way back to his tent. Inside the tent, the man searched inside his improvised bed out of straw and hey for an item. It was a Commu.
He activated some spells, making sure no one would interrupt him and he started his call.
“Master Laidir, the ground work is done, you just have to give the orders and we’ll eliminate those who dared to defy our Clan.” The man said with a serious tone.
