Clair walked into the winter garden. There she found a blonde boy and a blonde girl sitting at a table sipping tea from expensive looking porcelain cups. The girl noticed Clair’s presence before she could even greet them. She eagerly waved towards Clair. “Hi Clair! You actually came and didn’t decide to hide like you always do.”
Clair waved back and forced a smile with a guilty expression. ‘Sariel sure knows how to say what she thinks.’
Sariel was wearing her red hair with blonde stripes open, the shoulder lenght wavy hair covered parts of her sharp face harmonizing well with her green eyes. A pair of small silver colored wings, were visible from behind the brown backless dress she was wearing.
Sariel was three years older than Clair, thus she had already gotten to the age, where her wings would start growing. Unlike the Demons the racial traits of the Seraphs started to manifest at the age of thirteen. The duration of the process would take about six to eight years depending on the seraphs.
Another difference to the Demons was the way the society dealt with their racial traits. While the Demons would speed up the process and hide their wings and tails, the Seraph would wear their wings proud, for everyone to see and let the process happen naturaly.
Thus most of their buildings and clothing were optimized for their wings: The doors would be wide enough for them to walk through without hurting their wings and most of the clothes would be backless so they could spread their wings freely.
“Seems like you finally decided to stop resisting my charms.” Viktor said grinning towards Clair.
‘Not even five minutes into my resolve trying to change the ways how I treat the mortals and I’m already regretting it! Clair thought giving her best not to punch Viktor in his face. ‘I wonder if there are other people that also sometimes feel the urge to punch someone like him right in to the face? I wonder how much his ugly pointy nose would bleed?’
An evil grin appeared on Clair’s face as she let her imagination run wild. After a few seconds she snapped back out of her happy place and took a deep breath while she continued smiling like a wicked witch. “That’ will never happen. Even if you were the last Seraph alive and I would be forced to choose to breed between a Demon and you, I would choose the Demon without a second thought.”
As he heard Clair’s malicious words Viktors expression turned dark. His sharp chin started shaking as he didn’t know what to say. “We’ll see about that” He finally brought out after a few seconds of wracking his brain trying to come up with an answer.
Viktor forcefully shoved aside his long blond hair from his face and reattached it to the bun on the back of his head.
“Mark my words, once we’re married you’re gonna be my bitch! Yeah, you’re gonna be force to do everything I ask for...” A perverted grin appeared on his face. Have you seen the body of your mother? Even if you inherited just 1% of those curves you’ll still be a great woman! And I’ll know how to have fun with you. I know you’re thinking that our marriage isn’t going to happen. But me and my family will see that it happens. And believe me our marriage is going to happen in the not so distant future.” Viktor said with an angry voice while his black wings trembled behind his back.

Sariel looked disgusted towards him, not believing what he had just had said. She stood up and walked towards the trembling Clair and pulled her towards the garden leaving Viktor behind sitting alone in the winter garden. He showed signs of following them, but Sariel signaled him to stay where he was.
Clair just stood there trembling while Sariel hugged her. The only reason why Viktor’s words had gotten to her so much was because they were true. She most likely would end up getting married to Viktor and just thinking about herself being defiled by such a ‘douchebag’ let chills flow down her spine.
‘I can’t do it. They tell me to be nicer to my fellow mortals and this is what I get. I just hope I get to meet my future husband before my marriage happens. I still have a few years until I’m faced with something like marriage, but I still have to find ways to escape them!’
After feeling Sariel’s warmth for a few minutes she finally signaled Sariel that she was ok. “Don’t think about his childish threats. I’m sure he won’t act that way once he grows up.” S
Clair looked towards Sariel as if Sariel had just said the most stupid thing ever. “You know he is two years older than you! Just thinking that someone five years older then me, wants to do that kind of thing to me makes me feel sick.”
Sariel smiled awkwardly as her attempt to cheer up her friend didn’t work out. “But you are the crown princess and have the power of the Gods on your side. I’m sure you’ll be able to deal with a nobody like him.”
Clair looked towards Sariel with a blank expression. ‘Her attempts to cheer me up are getting from bad to worse. I wish she would just shut up! All she’s doing is rubbing salt into my wounds. Usually I would say something really mean to her, right now, but I decided to change the way I treat my fellow mortals, so I have to keep it nice and friendly!’ Clair took a deep breath and force the kindest smile she could. “Yeah, you’re probably right.”
Sariel looked baffled towards Clair. She clearly had not expected that answer from Clair.
“How is the training in the ‘Horde’ going?” Clair asked trying to change the topic.
Sariel eyes gleamed as she heard the question. With a big smile she started to explain how her training was advancing. “... And you know next month we’re finally getting our first mission on Terra.”
Clair looked at Sariel full of envy. “ I wish I was allowed to join the Horde or at least a normal school.” She said with a sad voice. “But it’s still nice to hear that you’re doing fine in the Horde.”
“Thank you.” Sariel said shyly. “My instructor told me that if I keep up the good work I might make it to general one day in the near future!”
“Good for you!” Clair answered happily. ‘It’s not like that I really care about your position in our armed forces, but let’s go with the flow for now.’
Suddenly the door of the winter garden opened. And Kayle stepped in. She charged directly towards Clair and gave her a piece of paper.
“What’s this?” Clair asked as she started reading the content of the piece of paper.
“No...”
“THEREISNOWAYTHISISHAPPENING!” Clair shouted happily as she continued reading.
“HOWDIDYOUMANAGETOPULLTHATOFF?ITHOUGHTMYPARENTSWOULDNEVERALLOWSUCHTHING!!”
“Clair dear, take a deep breath before talking, you’re doing your speed shouting again.” Kayle said as she stroke Clair’s head.
“I’m sorry, but how can I remain calm if you give me such good news!”
“What is it?” Sariel asked.
“Nothing big.” Kayle replied.
“Nothing big? No, something really big! I’m allowed to join the training in the Horde!” Clair answered happily as she held the permission signed by her parents close to her chest. “I don’t know how you did it, but thank you Kayle.” She said and jumped to hug her Nanny.
