Roche(7.12.9978 AS)
‘What am I even doing here? I know my friends are about to commit something despicable, by killing someone innocent!’ Clair thought her as her ship was reaching the port of Roche, the second largest City in the Human world.
*Sigh.*
‘Well, time to play the princess! And I should stop caring about some random Human, if I think about it, he probably wasn’t the first one! There were many Wild Elders killed before him and there will be a lot killed after him and right now I don’t have the power to change his situation anyways. Yeah, once I’m Empress, I will change some rules regarding the Wild Elders.’
Clair smiled as her ship got closer and closer to the port.
“It looks like her highness can’t wait to be back on land.” Dietrich remarked.
Clair nodded, acting relieved. “This was my first tour with a ship! I didn’t know it would be so exhausting to travel from one City to the other! Who would’ve thought that the Human Continent consists out of five big islands?”
“Yeah, not many Seraphs know about the geography of the Human Continent.” Dietrich nodded.
“Their political situation is also quite intriguing.” Clair added.
They were now on their way to meet a party of Elder representing Roche. Unlike the other Worlds, Terra had no centralized government. Terra was divided into five big islands, each of the islands represented a Country or how they called it a Continent.
All of the portals to the other worlds were situated in Solum, thus they were the main representative of the Humans towards the other races, but not everybody was happy with that order. Especially the rulers of Roche weren’t happy about the rise of Solum, since Roche used to be the central hub before the Portals. So, they used every method possible to oppose Solum’s policies even if this meant to be allied to the Seraphs and to antagonize the Demons.
“Yeah, but thanks to that, we have at least some friends her in Terra.” Dietrich said before breaking out in loud laugher.
Solum (7.12.9978 AS)
Laura was sitting on an old bench observing her friends with a big smile on her face, sweat running down her neck. They had been out here training for almost two hours straight, everybody was concentrating on what they needed most.
She didn’t quite understand why Tristan was spending so much time meditating instead of in close combat; didn’t his passive and active abilities make him the perfect close quarter fighter? She took out a water bottle and drank out of it, while Tristan also seemed to stop his training and stood up.
“Are you ready?” Tristan asked and Ai, who had been practicing different types of fire spells nodded.
“Yes, I’m all warmed up now and yesterday I finally had a break through with my new spell!” Ai smiled and gave Tristan a piece of paper.
“So what do you think?” She finally asked while glaring at Tristan with expecting eyes.
Tristan gave her a thumbs up. “This doesn’t look as bad as I expected, and it won’t hurt you badly if you fail the spell.”
“Badly?” Laura asked as she walked towards the two of them.
“Yeah, this is her best one so far, what about trying it out Ai?”
Ai smiled relieved as she herd Tristan’s words and without further ado she started chanting the spell.
As the spell finally activated and dozens of blue fire tentacles grew from the ground, these tentacles soon started to encircle Ai, who was smiling from ear to ear. “Hehehe, what do you think of my new spell?”

Laura stared at Ai and Tristan in disbelieve. ‘Wait, that spell looks awfully similar to the Shadow’s Whip, one of the Schatten-Clan’s most well-known spells! No, that can’t be Trist can’t use Shadow’s magic, so he couldn’t possibly teach her that spell…’
“Thanks Tristan, without your help I would be still trying to create a blue flame, if you had not taught me so well in the theory of magic I wouldn’t have been able to create this spell!” Ai said close to tears.
‘So, it was him and I thought… and I thought, all he was capable of, was his illusions to get close to his opponents…’ Laura sighed to herself as she realized her miss calculations. ‘This will make him an even harder hurdle to overcome, to reach the top! How can I even hope to dream of the top, if I can’t even overcome a Demon without passive?!’
“So, want to try the controls?” Tristan asked Ai intrigued.
“You can bet on it!” Ai answered confidently.
“Well, here I come!” Tristan said as he accelerated his body to an incredible speed.
“Wait!” Ai cried out loud as Tristan appeared in front of her.
“What?” s Tristan asked as he stopped his tracks next to Ai and gave her a small kiss on the cheeks.
“I… I… I wasn’t ready yet! And… don’t go doing that kind of thing to a girl; she might get the wrong idea!” Ai shouted and her fire tentacles slapped towards the place Tristan had been.
“That’s better!” Tristan said as he easily evaded the tentacles coming at him. “That’s right come at me with all you’ve got!”
“Don’t blame me, if I hurt you!” The blushing Ai answered, sending her tentacles at Tristan.
Laura, just stood there like petrified. ‘Are they really as old as I am? How come they are so relaxed after casting such high end spells? Flash Step, the spell that Tristan is using is at least High Super Devil level! Since when did he surpass the Low Dragon level he was supposed to be in? And the same goes for Ai’s new spell, if I had to classify it, I would say it’s at least High Dragon level! Isn’t it irresponsible to use spells above one’s limits?’
Tristan just continued to jump around to evade the fire tentacles Ai was throwing at him.
“You seem to be able to control your tentacles really good, but how about your defense?” Tristan asked and accelerated towards Ai, who ordered her tentacles to form a shield around her, causing Tristan to jump back.
“Awesome!” Tristan exclaimed, and clapped his hands. “But I think it’s the time to stop for today, before you lose-”
Before he could even complete his sentence Ai collapsed in front of Tristan, causing Laura to face palm.
‘Thought so, she couldn’t possibly be able to hold such a spell for long.’ Laura sighed and walked up to Tristan.
“Why did you allow her to cast that spell?” Laura asked Tristan.
“Because she created her own spell out of already existing ones, do you know how amazing that is?”
“But you knew this would happen, didn’t you?”
“Of course I knew! I was the one that helped her to develop the spell in the first place. It’s obvious I knew how draining such a spell would be, especially if it is a mix out of 25 already existing spells. But she needs to learn were her limits are by herself!”
“25?”
**Sigh**
“Did you think a simple spell would be able to do everything she showed?”
“So she was holding 25 spells active at the same time without them interfering with each other?! How?”
“She was cheating, her active allows her to see and sense mana, so she can tune her mana better than most of us, so she can easily activated different spells without them interfering with each other… And I also helped her to pick, spells that wouldn’t interfere with each other.”
Laura nodded.
“Say Trist, you’re really good with magic theory, right?”
“Well, I pride myself of being the smartest Demon alive.”
“Erm… I’ve been stuck quite a while with my magic studies… So… wouldn’t you mind helping me out?”
“Yeah, when we’re back home, I’ll help you find your own magic style.” Tristan smiled at Laura while he tried to wake up Ai, who had lost consciousness.
“Nice!” Laura showed a genuine smile, like she hadn’t since the incident with the Bards.

“Why do you look so concerned?” Ai asked as she finally woke up after a while.
“Well, you ended up losing consciousness on us!” Tristan said and reached Ai some candy. “Eat this, will do you good to regain your strength.
“Erm… So, I’ll have to rework the spell?” Ai asked with a disappointed voice.
“No, you don’t need to; you just need to tweak it a little.” Tristan smiled and picked her up for a piggyback ride. “Don’t worry for now we’ll bring you home.”
Ai hugged Tristan tighter and looked towards Laura. “You know, I’m really glad I got to meet the two of you! You are the best friends I’ve ever made! It must have been destiny for me to find people that care so much for me and that help me as much as you guys do.”
Laura and Tristan looked at each other and smiled wryly.
“Thanks, I guess, I can’t speak for Laura, but I’m also really glad I got the opportunity to share my time with you.” Tristan conveyed his honest feelings.
“Same… same goes for me!” Laura said while blushing a little.
“I’m glad you feel the same way, so how about we use the holiday next week to go to the Holly Crêpe?”
“Sounds great, but won’t there be more people than usual, I mean the Festival of the Five Continents will be taking place in the city center.” Tristan did his best to reject her invitation without openly denying her.
“That’s the best part! We could go and watch the festivities and eat delicious Crêpes!” Ai said hyped.
“It looks like you’re really hyped to go.” Laura pointed out.
“Well, Tristan himself said so last time, the more we are the merrier!”
