Now that the artifact from this planet had been obtained, the gang could leave. Luckily, the very long ladder was still intact. There was just one problem. How could Gumpton possibly get to the top? Well, it was as easy as having Hoofa shoot a ton of barrels down into the hole from above. As barrels rained down on Gumpton, he was able to easily climb them to the top of the pit. The whole process only took, like, five hours. Everyone else had gone back into the ship to plan which planet they were to go to next. Of the three planets they had already been to, Smack-Smork was the only one remaining. It was also the planet which they had duplicate maps of.
Meanwhile, on Smack-Smork, the Kearthian pirates were keeping watch. Their forces were spread out over the entire planet to be prepared for when the gang showed up. They had found both artifacts that were on this planet, and since this was the map they had 2 copies of, the were certain that the gang would not show up here because it was almost certain that they didn’t also have 2 copies of this map. If they did, it would imply that 2 of the maps were identical on purpose from the very beginning and Bird didn’t even make a mistake after all.
Alas, when the gang showed up in Mound’s ship 2 days later, the Kearth pirates were completely unprepared for them. The Kearthians, however, had two Energy Cubes, and they had brought one of them to Smack-Smork. As soon as the gang showed up, an energy beam was fired at them from the surface of the planet. Luckily, Mound’s ship had a gricklite shield (because it was the personal ship of one of the Five Powerful Bears of the Bears), and beams from Energy Cubes could not pierce gricklite shields. Well, they technically could, but in order for that to happen, the beam needed to be focused on the shield for multiple minutes, and even then it only made a small hole in the shield which regenerated very fast.
“Someone on the surface is attacking us, yo!” yelled Bird from the control room.

“Hmm, thiz ship has a Bizzile, yez?” asked Qaeron. And indeed, since it was just a modified Bearmy ship, it came stocked with a single Bear Missile. But, in case you forgot, they had already used it to escape Bear Stone Planet. Bearmy ships are only stocked with one Bissile because they (the Bissiles) are made of gricklite and are super expensive and also very dense.
“We already used it, yo,” said Bird. “But we do have Bear Bullets.”
“Use them, yez!” encouraged Qaeron. Bird pressed the Bear Bullet Rapid-Fire button and Bear Bullets were rapidly fired from the ship.
On the surface of Smack-Smork, the Kearthian pirates were firing the Energy Cube’s beam at the gang’s ship. Since they had no hands to stick into it, they used an Energy Beam Auto-Firing Machine (EBAFM™). This amazing device automatically aimed and fired at any ships it scanned. The pirates did not suspect that the gang’s ship would have a gricklite shield and were surprised when they didn’t explode. And then, all of a sudden, hundreds of bullets rained down upon them, unleashing an army of tiny bears. The EBAFM™ was ripped to shreds by the tiny bears, along with every mouse-mech nearby. James McMouse was among the mouse-mechs, and he was also destroyed. As soon as the mechs got destroyed, the mice inside were also attacked by bears and killed.
Bird continued to fire Bear Bullets all over this side of Smack-Smork. Explosions erupted on the surface, showing that they were successful. He then flew the ship to the other side of the planet and fired more bears. That is how it came to be that about 90% of all Kearthian pirates met their end on Smack-Smork. The remaining ones guarding Kearth soon met their demise due to how few of them there were.
