"Bringing my avatar into reality..."

John thought about Astor's ability to transform into his 'aspect' form. John tried to use spiritual energy to form things. He however wasn't successful.

"Transforming spiritual energy into matter is easy... but without access to my origin. I am quite lacking at creating structures that defy reality."

John started to think about the main problem that was stopping him from creating his avatar in reality.

John waved his hands and the energy particles in the environment obeyed his whims.

"The key behind Astor's ability seems to be related to energy particles. They offer more options in terms of flexibility."

Think about what John was trying to do as the difference between a raster image and a vector image. A raster image used pixels. Imagine taking such an image and resizing it. When you scale it up. It loses consistency.

Stretching out the space between atoms to make his avatar a reality wouldn't work.

But a vector image is different. No matter how big you make it. It is smooth and looks the same. Resizing it doesn't matter at all.

If John could master energy particles... he could make a 'vector' version of his avatar.

John's avatar was a simulation. It didn't follow physics at all. The difference between spiritual energy and energy particles here was actually quite contradictory.

John used spiritual energy to create atoms to create objects.

You would think spiritual energy was more fantastical and perhaps had to do with the spirit.

You would think energy particles would be more scientific and perhaps have to do more with physics.

But these two were actually opposites...

The way John developed and progressed was the opposite of this. John used spiritual energy to mess with the rules of physics. He could break the rules and create or destroy matter. He could make himself massless and reach insane speeds.

John was excited to see what he could do with the energy particles. But first he had a huge question.

"When I created the immortal world. I created a yin and yang as the source of spiritual energy..."

"When I created this world. Instead of using 120 elements... I created it using energy particles. Darkness, light, water, fire, energy, air, and earth..."

"But I never created a generator for this universe..."

John felt enlightened.

"That's it! This universe has traces of something greater. The energy particles would naturally work towards entropy, as there was a limited amount. Evolution of this world pushed it towards a reality where soul and the physical world are one in the same!"

"Since I built no generator. One evolved naturally. The generator should be the soul of the world. The World Will..."

"The rules of this world are different then what I am used to..."

John already had issues performing spiritual 'leaps' due to interference from the high concentration of energy particles.

"I suppose all things work towards a balance..."

"In this case. I have to balance the two energy types."

"Spiritual energy allows construction of physical matter."

"These energy particles allow construction of spiritual matter."

John frowned.

"I will give it a better name. 'energy particles' isn't good enough and can be used for other things."

John thought back to the moment he created infinite type spiritual energy.

John decided to name the energy types based on their functions.

"Infinite type spiritual energy will now be 'Dark Energy'."

"These energy particles will be called 'Light Energy'."

The reason it was called dark energy was due to it interacting with the physical properties of objects. John knew about 'dark energy' as well. It is a theoretical energy that affects the expansion of the universe.

There is a difference between what physicist called 'dark energy' and infinite type spiritual energy. But the differences and the hidden nature of dark energy are why John gave it this name.

Think about it.

Besides John... who can see 'infinite type spiritual energy'? If you don't count Du or cultivators... it is basically invisible.

You would think that as the universe expands, it slows down from its initial speed due to gravity. But this isn't the case at all. As the universe expands. It actually becomes more accelerated. It grows at a faster and faster rate.

The universe gets bigger and bigger. Godkillers called this a cosmotic constant. Expansion of the universe requires energy. The universe is either expanding or contracting.

But John is the creator of these universes. They have limits and don't necessarily follow these rules, as seen with his pagoda of the cultivator universe.

John found the term 'dark energy' not just from his time spent as a scientist. But it was also used by the godkillers to explain a lot of mysteries. There is also dark matter, which is invisible. There is dark energy which is invisible. They knew it existed. But measuring it and interacting with it was a problem.

So John officially decided to no longer call his 'infinite type spiritual energy' spiritual energy. He would instead call it by a new name.

That name was 'dark energy'.

Just like with actual dark energy. Spiritual energy indeed was a constant. A universal constant. It is only due to it being manipulated by cultivators or John himself that it finally reacts.

John's technological universe for instance. As it expanded the amount of matter concentrated decreased. The amount of radiation also severely decreased as it expanded. But you know what didn't decrease?

Dark energy.

John spoke to himself.

"I am now a master of dark energy!"

"Now... I just need to master light energy."

Make no mistake. The complexities of these energy types remained. But John simplified them and their names. He still retained all of his abilities. It was just the name that had changed. Instead of the origin race being powered by spiritual energy. It could be said that they were powered by dark energy.

John frowned.

"I am able to create dark energy... but I have no way to generate light energy."

"The yin and yang on the back of my avatar is only capable of creating infinite dark energy."

John didn't need 'yin and yang' to do this either.

"Perhaps... I need to consume the will of the world."

"If I upgrade my 'eyes of time' enough. I can lock onto the consciousness of the world. Then I should be able to pull it into my paradise."

"By using my eyes on Astor for his entire journey. I will upgrade it as a side effect."

"My progress will depend on him..."

"I have time."
