John Hell felt a fire ignite in his soul. He would no longer be 'ordinary'.
He had no idea how to manipulate spiritual energy. But now he knew it was more then just fiction.
The reason Destinatus was doing all of this was to get inspiration from humanity. He would steer them into the direction of becoming the top race in this universe.
But things weren't going smoothly. The moment John Hell tried to publish his paper on creating a wormhole. His results and research was seen as a threat to society.
It was intercepted.
He was invited by the president of his country to talk over some issues regarding space travel. He was then drugged and imprisoned.
He had no access to technology and was used for research. His brain was scanned many times as the government tried to find out what made him so special.
They had left his brother alone. As he was a genius, but still within the bounds of reason.
John spent most of his time in an empty cell. His imaginary friend never visited him. He was quite famous across the world however. So his disappearance caused many waves.
It was believed that a terrorist organization had kidnapped him...
Everyday... he was blindfolded. Had noise cancelling ear muffs put on him. Was binded in cuffs and lead to a lab to do research for the government. He had lost all freedom and didn't have any rights.
This lifestyle went on for a few months. He realized that he needed to escape. But how?
All spiritual energy generated by his body and those of the origin race was still branded with John Destinatus's consciousness.
Over the months he had been incarcerated. He could feel his control of the spiritual energy growing. There was a huge difference between him and Destinatus though.
He wasn't able to open up portals or teleport. He could not create matter or destroy it.
But he unlocked a very interesting ability. By encasing his brain in spiritual energy. He was able to enter the paradise of his imaginary friend. This wasn't something Destinatus allowed every member of the origin race. John Hell was special.
His body would become unconscious while he was in this space.
He found himself standing in front of an eldritch entity.
"Destinatus!"
The mouth ripped open on this creature as it spoke to him.
"How are you?"
"Not good. I've been imprisoned..."
"Hmm... want me to take over?"
"Yes!"
John Hell's body began to shake as his eyes rolled to the back of his head. He fell off of his bed as the intelligence returned to his eyes.
John Destinatus had taken over!
"Such harsh conditions..."
John could feel there was hardly any spiritual energy within this body. It was also sealed in a barrier, not allowing it to leak into the environment.
John didn't waste any time at all.
'Infinite Mind'.
John reviewed the memories of John Hell and formed a plan in an instant. He waited patiently for them to take him to his lab. He was blindfolded and led in circles so he wouldn't be familiar with the area, there was no chance of escape.
But they couldn't factor that John's eyes and ears were connected to the technology in this building. Thanks to experiencing life as a data lifeform. He had an innate ability to control data.
You might wonder why John didn't just open a portal and escape directly? He wanted the government to think he had outsmarted them as a genius. Not as some sort of supernatural entity.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Escaping as a genius was acceptable. Escaping using something that seemed like magic would bring many troubles.
John was led to his lab and had his restrictions taken off. He looked around and sighed.
An insane idea was brewing in his mind.
Death!
Well to be specific. John Hell was a half-breed. As part of the origin race. He innately had the ability to respawn. As long as he passed the trial all newborns must go through to graduate.
But John was currently in control of this body. What would happen if he died with his consciousness in control?
That's where things get a little interesting. John had a special move in his 'final destination' series of attacks.
It was called 'Final Destination: Primordial Fusion: Time'.
He could use 'Primary Focus: Rewind'.
John decided to give special treatment to 'John Hell'. Instead of having to go through the trial of data lifeforms. He wouldn't be respawning at all.
Manipulating time is actually not that easy. John has had to cover the area he wishes to manipulate in spiritual energy.
So John ruled out using this technique at all. John's time manipulation abilities weren't multiversal after all.
"I want to develop a technique that allows the person to regress. Maybe he can figure out his own technique."
John wanted a technique that would put the user into a time loop.
John bid his time and waited for them to need him again in the lab. Once his restrictions were taken off. He stretched and started to jog in place.
The guards looked at him wondering what he was doing.
John then sneered. His guards felt a sense of danger. John had sent out a punch to the chin of one of his guards stunning them.
He shook his hand as he looked at the tazers pointed at him. John charged at them as the tazers were shot at him.
But John was someone capable of overclocking his nervous system. He didn't even need to use Infinite Mind.
He waved his hands.
He grasped the barbs preventing them from shocking his entire body. He had caught them. This surprised everyone.
John then flicked his fingers causing an explosion of light. This distracted the guards as he got on the ground and swept his feet in a circle, knocking down everyone nearby.
By the time they had realized what had happened, it was too late. He had already grabbed a gun.
They had known he was a genius... But why was he so good at fighting!?
John walked towards a counter filled with advanced components. He kept the gun pointing at the guards as he used a single hand to feel around the components.
It was like he was solving a rubiks cube using a single hand. Except he was constructing a device.
John spoke:
"I don't really need to escape. But you have forced my hand!"
Soon he held a newly constructed remote control.
One of the scientist held out there hands as they slowly walked towards him.
"You can't possible escape. I know all the materials you have access to today. What could you have created in such a short time frame?"
John laughed.
"You are right. Security is on their way. I didn't have enough time to make something from scratch. But who said I needed to?"
"What do you mean?"
John spoke:
"Your first mistake was not isolating signals in this lab."
"This device is just a detonator. The real server has been built by me months ago when I was a free man."
"You!? What does it do?"
The scientist couldn't help but be interested. Was it going to open up a wormhole? Perhaps teleport him? Just what sort of marvel would have been cooked up by him?
John didn't bother explaining as he clicked the button. He of course didn't actually have a machine built in advance.
But there was nobody here that could call out his bullshit.
Soon the door to the lab was busted down and John was facing armed soldiers.
John ignored their commands and pointed the gun at his head.
The people monitoring his actions were nervous. He was the key needed to push humanity to the peak! How could he die so easily?
John smiled as a hint of craziness flashed in his eyes.
"Ever heard of immortality?"
John pulled the trigger as his brains were splattered everywhere. His body became lifeless and dropped to the ground.
Medics surrounded him. But it was too late. He couldn't recover from this.
John focused on his Paradise and observed something interesting. John Hell was fine! But his body was dead.
"I have some good news and some bad news..."
"You died..."
John explained what had happened.
John Hell spoke:
"So let me get this straight. I gave you control of my body so you could bust me out of confinement... and you killed yourself?"
"Yes."
"..."
"How does that help me!?"
"Be calm. Death is just a new beginning..."
"What do you mean?"
"Spiritual energy can leap. It is also possible to brand consciousnesss on it. Your brain is completely destroyed. Yet you remain conscious in this space."
"Do you want me to return control of your body?"
"I'm dead though?"
"Death is nothing to be afraid of. How about this. I'll train you personally for a few million years. You are too weak to be of any use to me currently."
"Millions of years? Are you joking?"
John Hell knew Destinatus was special. But now it was like he was speaking in nonsense.
"I do like a good joke. But I am serious. Didn't I reveal spiritual energy to you? You are like my apostle to steer this world. With my help... your potential can become limitless. All I need from you is your identity."
"I hate to tell you this. But you have already served your purpose. You were born just so I could have an identity in this world. Now that you are 'kidnapped by terrorist'. I can randomly appear in the world and confuse the hell out of the government. Your story ends here... unless..."
"Unless I go through your training?"
"Exactly! Don't worry. I have used 'Infinite Mind' on you. This entire conversation is happening in the milliseconds after your death."
"Infinite Mind?"
"Sorry... Even if I train you. You won't be able to grasp this technique. I am a bit unique."
"But basically. We can spend an infinite amount of time training you. But only a few seconds will have passed in reality."
"That's insane..."
"This is nothing too shocking. You are to be my puppet in this world. I won't treat you badly. So what do you say?"
John Hell wasn't sure exactly what sort of 'training' he would be going through. But he mentally prepared himself.
"I have some questions..."
"What is it?"
"Will I be able to live? Since I'm already dead...what is the point?"
John started to laugh.
"Death is nothing!"
