"This topic has caused me some distress. I will be taking my leave."
"But first. I will search your soul!"
This time I feel it. Everything is within my grasp. I soul search the seer to the surprise of everyone. I used no artifacts or fancy techniques. This surprised everyone as what I did wasn't seen as possible.
In order for a blacksmith to make a legendary weapon. They first need the proper tools and resources. Somebody soul searching through intent alone? That was like a chef making a supreme dish blindfolded with nothing but their willpower. It was nonsense!
John saw through the lives of the seer. He was trying to figure out how he could copy or steal the ability to see the future. As such an ability could be useful.
"It seems the ability is rooted deeply in the existence itself. That will be hard to copy..."
"Just kidding."
John completely ignored everyone around him as he started to simulate the entire existence of the seer.
He flicked his fingers and said one word.
"Ruin."
There were seven main abilities to John's origin.
Consciousness Manipulation, Existence Permanence, Burden, Misfortune, Fall, Ruin, and Adversity.
Within the few milliseconds of using 'Ruin'. The Overseers very existence itself fell apart. Both body and soul.
His eyes became bloodshot. His skin red. Blood flowed from his orifices.
His cells broke down.
His soul withered.
His will dissipated.
Even his nascent soul itself fell apart.
John watched this process with deep concentration.
"Bingo."
John dipped his hands into the existence of the seer as if he was dipping his hands into honey. He was like a beekeeper trying to find the queen to move the hive.
Everyone watched in confusion having no idea what John was doing. It actually looked a little silly. Because it all happened so fast.
They couldn't comprehend the point of it.
They couldn't understand his actions.
The seer didn't even have a chance to react.
Within a few milliseconds... John had stolen the core part of the ability of the Overseer. The technique passed down for generations. The core of their inheritance.
John had taken it.
The Overseer was no longer a seer!
John then spoke a few words:
"Curse: Vitality. 5 Seconds. Curse: Life. 5 Seconds. Curse: Positive Ruin. Special key 'Recover'."
The existence of the seer that had dissipated acted as if it had been fed a heavenly tonic. It was as if god himself was resurrecting him.
The soul reformed.
His existence came back online.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
His body was healed completely.
But again... this all happened too fast. One moment... He was dead. The next he was fine. Although he looked a bit scary with the blood flowing from his eyes.
The seer was trembling though...
Because he felt he had lost 'it'.
He could no longer see destiny. He could no longer look into the future.
John said:
"Unfortunately, Your path ends here. But take solace in the fact that your ability has found a worthy inheritor."
John turned his head to look at the seer.
"Normal Destiny... what a shame."
John then began to walk away. But everyone had surrounded him.
The seer pointed his hand at John with tears flowing from his eyes.
"It's YOU! You are the entity of chaos!"
John smiled. He then had a contemplative look on his face.
"No. I am God."
John continued to walk towards the people surrounding him. He was heading in the direction of his flying artifact. Well, he wanted to leave this building first.
The crowd took out their weapons and formed a barrier. Despite it being one man versus hundreds. Despite them all being at the very top.
For some reason.
They felt fear.
John spoke:
"Curse: Misfortune. Radius: 100 meters. Type: Unlucky."
John tapped into Fate itself and weaved his victory.
The crowd charged at him.
But something weird happened. It was as if the universe itself was on John's side. Their attacks were like headless chickens. The techniques were uncoordinated and self destructive.
The castings failed. They accidentally hit one another.
John didn't have to dodge a single attack.
John didn't have to make a single attack.
They did all the work for him.
John looked around at the corpses surrounding him. He shook his head...
"I've become too strong..."
John craved a battle with his life on the line. He felt like he had lost something crucial to living things.
"Consequence..."
"I am no longer mortal..."
John felt himself getting a little emotional...
"I am no longer mortal..."
"I am no longer mortal..."
"immortal."
"Origin of Calamity."
"I don't feel so good..."
Tears were flowing down his face. He spoke:
"Curse: Misfortune: Radius: Infinite. Type: Catastrophe."
John took all of his misfortune and spread it evenly over the entire universe.
He instantly felt much better. His demeanor was no longer gloomy.
"Another side effect of being an origin? How troublesome..."
"That seemed to resolve the negative emotions."
"For now..."
John then decided to look into the future using his new ability.
John used his ability as a seer and gazed at the future possibilities. He instantly felt his Fate changing.
What he saw surprised him.
"I am killed?"
John started to laugh.
"How interesting! Amazing!"
"Let the battle begin then... Me versus... ALL THINGS!!!"
John waved his hands and spoke:
"Curse: Burden. Radius: Infinite."
John spread his mental burden across this universe as he began to use Intuition. He was trying to find the source of his untimely demise.
John didn't see his origin get killed.
That would be nonsense. He instead saw this body get killed. A collective effort of every cultivator in this realm.
The ability of the seer combined with his ability to mess with fate. It was a godlike combination.
John felt omniscient.
He felt omnipotent.
This didn't excite him though... he felt it was a waste.
Each person at the meeting had a life talisman that had their Qi signature within. When they died. As the leaders of their sects. The sects knew about their demise.
The only survivor was Kai!
But John really didn't kill them... they killed themselves. But that isn't what the sects thought. Soon every sect was working together to suppress the Li Sect.
Kai's Sect had been wiped out.
Only one person escaped the massacre. That was Du.
Nobody knew about the prophecy or the invasion of reality by an entity of chaos. They instead thought John had gone mad and killed off the others to benefit somehow.
They really couldn't understand his actions.
Something else was disturbing... Kai had gone silent. There were no traces of where he went. It was as if he had left this universe.
John himself had left the universe!
"I am a fool."
John cracked his knuckles.
"This world has formations. I've fallen behind in my studies. That is quite unlike me. Let us begin!"
Fighting all things! One man alone cannot do such a thing.
But was John a single man?
No! He was an Origin!
"If they want me to erase their universe. I'll do it with style."
"A fight with me? It is too unfair... I'll restrict myself."
"Let's make this fun."
"Curse: Adversity. Type: Mortal."
John was floating in the gap space between universes. He held out his finger as a orb began to condense.
"My processing power will be average."
"My reaction speed. Average."
"Physique: Ordinary."
"Intelligence: Average."
John has 'Adversity' as one of his abilities as an origin. From stress he grows stronger. But this body wouldn't even have that.
"My blessings? Sealed."
"The abilities of my Origin? Sealed."
This was basically an avatar. The results of this competition didn't matter too much to John. He was just curious.
If he had lost everything.
If he didn't have his powers.
Just what sort of miracles would he be able to create?
The intelligence left Kai's eyes as John focused his origin. He created an ordinary soul. He then played the waiting game...
A few years after the chaos of Kai's 'rampage'.
John was born!
John's starting point was a bit... unlikely.
His father was Li Du!
