Chapter 37: Captured

Chapter 37: Captured

Invulnis wasn't having the best time ever. He had spent years exploring the 42nd floor. This floor was special because it was an entire world.

When John's concept shattered. Invulnis was affected. His soul had a both a rank 1 and 2 brand on it. This brand transformed to point into another entity automatically. It was fine for awhile.

But who would've thought that this entity would realize it had a leech consuming its energy. The connection was destroyed and the brands on his soul became little more then play things.

Luckily, he was practically immortal due to the system Destinatus gave him.

His will carried the system's logic.

But for some reason... his skills weren't working! He could still look at his attributes.

His 'will' was running out of energy. There was no concept to connect to in order to update his system. Or fix the energy problem.

John's 'will' had almost infinite energy even without his concept. Invulnis was just an experiment. He didn't have such benefits.

He also hadn't received any help from Destinatus in awhile.

The system problem could be fixed by Invulnis simply praying to Emflowcreagen using the mantra. But this wouldn't work at the moment... because the concept was gone!

Invulnis had been exploring the world of the 42nd floor. He had left the starter zone. He was careful to avoid danger as he knew he wouldn't be able to respawn with his system in its current state.

Even his disguise was becoming transparent and fading away.

He never had the teleport skill in the first place. The starter zone he found himself in was surrounded by a grand barrier that kept mortals trapped inside.

Invulnis's willpower was strong enough to ignore the fog and leave this zone.

As he was traveling in the wilderness. He was extremely dehydrated and weak from the journey. He had exhausted most of his supplies.

He then ran into a group of people that had mastered some form of supernatural power.

They recognized from his clothes that he wasn't from this area. So they could do whatever they wanted.

He had to make a choice. Die or get captured?

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

He chose to surrender in the end.

He was then locked in a prison cell. At the very least, they made sure he didn't die from dehydration and starvation.

He spent a few days in prison.

He felt hopeless.

Invulnis had high expectations for this.

[System]: Negative Source cocoon forming...

Invulnis saw a blue sun.

"Is that what I think it is?"

Invulnis thought he had been saved and established connection with the concept. He soon lost control of his body as John took over his nervous system and swung his arms around.

He used the power of his global existence to form a negative source cocoon around Invulnis. He then began to transform his body into an abyssal body.

The guards noticed the abnormality. They opened up the gate and tried to attack Invulnis. But it was as if he was guarded by an impenetrable barrier.

A year passed as John manipulated Invulnis's body. Using his emergence point. He topped off the energy of his will.

All skills began to go online.

Invulnis found himself still in the prison. The gate was locked.

"Disable locks!"

All his locks were disabled and he felt his body become godlike.

He snapped his fingers and the entire building shook. You must know, they have used mystical resources to build this place.

He wasn't able to cause any waves even using aura to enhance himself.

But now... with the mere snap of his fingers, he could shake the entire place.

He stood up and felt quite refreshed. He walked towards the gate and flicked his fingers sending it flying into the hallway.

Soon he was surrounded by swordsman and runic warriors.

A blade was sliced down on him. But he caught it between two fingers. Shattered the blade and kicked the person with his knee.

The person's spine snapped as they were shot through the ceiling. The building collapsed and everyone was covered in debris.

The runic warriors had formed a barrier around them to avoid getting buried. The swordsmen had cut the debris into pieces as it fell on them.

A white suit and mask appeared over Invulnis as he cracked his fingers.

"What sort of power is that?"

Invulnis ignored their question and smashed his foot into the ground as he charged forward. The ground was cut in half where he charged at.

The person who asked the question's head exploded.

They attacked his body with all manners of abilities and attacks. But his perception was many times better then a normal persons.

He remained in place... but dodged so fast that it was if the attacks sliced right through him.

The commotion attracted more forces. They looked at all the corpses around Invulnis.

Soon he was surrounded.

But his skills were active! What did he have to fear?

"I'll clear this floor soon!"
