Chapter 17: A.I Chip

Chapter 17: A.I Chip

John had an idea. He was currently the only person on this planet. You could say he had the entire planets resources to himself.

When he went through an overflow by tapping into his concept. He had looked through advanced technology from aliens and the future of humanity.

John had humanity's advanced technology to himself. He just lacked the infrastructure to create these miracles of science.

You see... John wasn't in a rush to return to the trial.

He noticed something quite interesting. When the tutorial collapsed. He had felt his existence freeze.

He could inherently feel a gap in the time between that moment and the moment he spawned in the temple.

This gap was quite large.

John judged this gap and the fact that he had seen the temple used again. That they were likely doing multiple batches of races at a time.

There were likely more temples. But there wasn't an infinite amount.

John figured the situation was the same for the third trial. The person would likely have their existence frozen until it was ready.

So how long exactly would it take to go through over 10 million humans?

Well, they were clearly doing batches of 100.

There would probably be around 109,000 batches.

If each batch takes about a week on average for everyone to either die or pass. That will be 763,000 days.

How many years is that?

Over 2000 years!

That's how long John would have to spend in limbo. But that is assuming there is only one temple.

There were likely to be more. So he estimated that it would be 500 years of limbo to be safe.

Although all of these humans would spend 500+ years in limbo. Their existence would be frozen. It would pass in an instant for them.

But the same wasn't the case for John. He would be aware for all of it.

So to lessen his boredom. He planned to terraform this entire planet.

He wasn't planning on returning to the trial yet.

He gave himself 250 years to experiment on this empty planet.

He would build a marvelous factory that would cover the entire world.

An ordinary person in his situation might dread 250 years of loneliness. But 250 years was nothing to John.

In fact, he might return sooner depending on his research progress.

John's plan was to gear up with technology that was so advanced it appeared to be magic. Then return to the trials with assurance and strength that could brute force through the them.

He remembered when he ran into a god on a mission. He didn't wish to have that same feeling of weakness in the trials.

John spent a year walking around the world marking a mental map of the world around the area he had access to.

He was lucky, there was a military base a few kilometers away from him. There was also a hospital within walking distance.

He stored a variety of cold weapons for other humans to use later.

He first put away tanks and jets into his storage space. He decided he would change out their energy source with fusion reactors one day.

He found a precise machine used for constructing microchips.

John then began to develop something essential to his future research.

It was something he had once had on another planet awhile back.

'A.I Chip'.

Except this was inherently different then that one.

John spent five years making logistic robots. They weren't as overpowered as nanites. But they would get the job done. He purposefully built construction robots.

He then used these robots to cover all the roofs across the cities as well as cover the flat plains.

He covered these with solar panels.

He did have fusion reactors blueprints in his mind from when he was overflowing his soul. But he needed to power other machines at the moment to build up to that level of infrastructure.

He then set up accumulators to store this energy to have during night.

He now had adequate power to work with. He then manually visited multiple building's server rooms and had them connect to a controller.

You see. In the future there was a metal developed called 'sensesium'. This material was capable of changing brainwaves and causing lifelike hallucinations. When combined with circuit boards, it could create a virtual environment and body.

John was still in the process of designing his 'A.I Chip'. He currently lacked this metal.

So he decided to do something entirely new.

Why implant a chip into his brain? If he is capable of creating a new organic organ?

A natural A.I Chip would be better then having to go through a procedure every time he died.

So John began to research into the structure of the brain.

He spent a decade on this project, but failed to create an organ that would do exactly what he wanted it to do.

So he settled with manufacturing sensesium. He then programmed a series of actions to perform surgery on him. He had to use high pressure water to cut through his skin.

He used surgical robots for this.

His brain was damaged in the process of this procedure. But it didn't affect his thinking as he had his will to work with.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Something amazing happened to John after getting this A.I Chip.

He connected with every server he had connected to his network.

There were however servers that were offline as there wasn't power outside his network. Due to lacking manpower and people to manage powerplants.

He was now 36. But his body was timeless and had stopped aging at 21.

His perception had been boosted ten times. While he was connected to the network, he had a boost of a hundred times.

There was a problem though. This boost was due to the A.I Chip in his brain.

When he died. He would lose this chip due to exploding.

There were cases where he wouldn't. Like respawning on the spot for example.

If he teleported, he would also carry the chip with him.

But otherwise... All this work would get thrown away. There was a reason he tackled this device first. It was due to the crazy processing power it offered him.

He almost felt like he had a connection to his concept. He didn't, but it gave him a similar feeling.

This chip allowed him to control external technology with his mind. It was crucial to controlling the robot armies he had built over the years.

Now John began his next project now that he actually had adequate processing power. He felt like a genius.

So now, John began to work on creating an entirely new organ in the human body. The location? The brain!

It didn't take him years this time to come up with a successful product.

After a few days he had managed to create a framework using aura.

That's right! Using his chip. He had memorized the series of actions needed to create a structure using the brain tissue in his brain to create a A.I Chip.

This chip was powered off of aura. Very small amounts of it.

He blew up and respawned outside his lab.

He immediately felt as if he had become much dumber. His thinking slowed down at a rapid rate.

His perception dropped down back to 10.

John sat down on the floor and spent 70 hours following the steps needed to form the new organ.

Soon. He had successfully created the A.I Chip.

He was however unsatisfied with the speed.

So he blew up and tried again.

Again.

Again.

After doing this for a decade. He had thoroughly memorized the structure of the A.i Chip.

It only took him three seconds to reform this chip after respawning.

His perception was 1000 with the chip alone. As long as he was within range of the servers. His perception was even higher.

This also gave him a few unique abilities.

1.) It greatly boosted his processing power and reaction time.

2.) It allowed him to do simulations.

3.) It allowed him to control technology.

The first two benefits would serve him well in the future trials. He wasn't sure how useful being able to control technology was. But you had to think.

One would need some sort of controller to control nanites. John could control the technology with his thoughts alone.

This made them far more useful.

He also had developed an army of logistic robots. He had an infinite storage space. So he packed most of them in it. He also packed the hospital robots.

The world was now full of 'life' due to him mass producing these robots. But as for the robots he would be taking with him to the trials?

He needed to worry about powering them.

He replaced their batteries with a fusion reactor. It wasn't infinite power. But it could power them for decades without needing to replace the parts. This was advanced technology after all.

He also took out the tanks and jets from his storage space and modified them to be powered through fusion technology.

John then began to try to produce nanites. But all the products he made weren't functional. It was simply too small a scale.

Even though they multiplied exponentially. It still took too much time with their size.

So he gave up on this for now. He would have to make progress with time.

John then decided it was almost time to go back.

But then he thought to himself.

"I currently lack an effective means of attack."

John began to think.

"I always resort to boosting my attacks using aura. I pretty much brute force my way through most of my enemies."

"But I'm already reaching the limit."

John thought back to the mutant he had encountered in the dungeon. It took his all just to rip off its arm. This likely wasn't even the peak of creatures he would be dealing with in the future.

John decided before returning, he would max out his body tempering skill.

He spent a half a decade grinding this skill.

Once he crossed the 75% threshold of organ tempering. His organs had hardened and fused mostly together.

He had maxed out the skill.

Even if his heart was impaled. He could survive for some time now.

"I am now quite durable."

"Now I just need a signature attack."

John thought back to his failed nanites...

He had indeed made nanites and had them multiply like bacteria.

But they were so small, that they couldn't do much.

It simply required too many of them.

He stored billions of them in his storage space. He also had a few in his body that quickly multiplied. Although they couldn't do much. They could help repair damage. In combination with his physique. He could heal rather fast.

He then developed an attack using them.

He could have it invade the enemies body and attack their brain.

But even John realized that the creatures he would be fighting in the future might be like that death knight and lack a brain to attack.

So John got to thinking.

He had infinite space in his storage dimension right?

He was also now a genius.

What if he created a rocket that would launch a satellite into space. He could then use his processing power to shoot a laser down from space.

John then thought this was a bit ridiculous and would take a lot of time.

But time was something he had.

But instead of there being a laser which would require too much power and precise aiming. He could instead equip it with nuclear warheads.

John was unsure whether or not he should do this. In the end the intrusive thoughts won. He developed satellites with various means of attack.

You had kinetic orbital bombardment.

This wasn't a laser. You see, it would be quite hard for the satellite to aim down with such precise calculations.

So he instead used artificial intelligence to guide the attack.

John planned to have each satellite have three means of attack.

John had it equipped with multiple rods of metal.

This rod was designed to be air resistant. It was also released at a speed so insane that it was like taking a strike from god.

On this rod was thrusters that could position the attack perfectly as it quickly was launched.

Once he had a working prototype... he decided that he wasn't close to done.

He started to think about formations and runes. He now had lasers that would allow him to inscribe runes on any material on a microscopic level.

He had all the tools and processing power needed to create a set of tools that were truly legendary.

"What's a few more years?"

John had grown addicted to advancing his technology. He had no plans to stop now.

John knew that the rules of reality were likely different in another universe. So in the sanctuary, he couldn't be certain his technology would even work.

Or the physics and math could operate differently.

The planet in the sanctuary universe didn't have to follow this world's rules. It could be flat for all he knew.

So he needed to develop multiple contingencies.

That's where runes came into play.
