John was wearing his disguise. He wandered around his city. Looking for signs of the supernatural. Various news outlets had warned people to lock their doors and not go outside.
John wasn't worried about running into a human that could kill him. As he had his calamity system.
During his walk. He had casually killed many mutated humans. He then noticed something interesting. It seemed not only did looking at those hidden existences cause insanity. But it also caused the person to be corrupted.
John remembered the past where he had the memories of a supreme being and had his spirit body corrupted from sifting through it. But this was a corruption on a different level.
It was mutating them.
John was having more and more trouble killing the humans. It seemed the longer they were insane. The stronger they would become.
Name: Johnathan Time
Age: 19
Strength: 2.1
Dexterity: 3
Constitution:10
Perception:2
Energy:5
Skills: ["Lvl3 Iron Finger", "Lvl3 Iron Skin", "Lvl4 Fitness"]
John looked at his stats. He was only about twice as strong as the average adult.
John did feel a bit of regret now. He wished he had perhaps became a scientist in this life again. Then he could have his own lab.
It would be vital for doing experiments.
Remember when John had the memories of a supreme being as a tree in his sea of consciousness? Well, when he was a concept. He had a form of omniscience. He had witnessed the birth and death of the universe. He had scouted all civilizations. This was why he knew every possible language.
That wasn't the only thing he learned though.
The human brain could not handle that much information, and using an ordinary soul wouldn't be able to support it either. But right now, his brain was no different from a normal person. His soul was also ordinary as well. So how did he store all of this information? He didn't!
He had burned all of the data from his concept and infused it into his 'intent'. His will was carrying not only his consciousness. But the secrets of this universe as well.
It was the 'original mind' after all.
This included advanced technology from aliens. But upon cutting the connection with his concept. There was an issue with retrieving this information. In other words, he wasn't capable of accessing this information. He needed to upgrade his brain somehow.
Basically, look at it this way. He had access to infinite history and information even now. But if he tried to tap into it with his current strength. His brain would literally explode.
However, he could perhaps slowly digest the information while in a dead state. But then, his soul would likely explode from an overload. Luckily, his soul could reform. But his spirit body would likely not be able to handle it either.
Instead of using formations... he would perhaps have to walk a more technological path. But production has been interrupted due to the apocalypse. It wasn't like he could make advanced technology using scraps, right?
He had thought once he hit the divergence point. He could easily acquire massive amounts of power. But it seems the supernatural changes were gradual and not instant.
But then an idea hit him! He has a storage space. He can collect these corpses to study. As for a lab? He can just take over a hospital.
John put ten corpses into his storage space.
So began his journey to the nearest hospital.
The door was locked.
He pulled out a gun from his storage space and shot at the door, busting it open.

What he saw next was a bit depressing.
Doctors and nurses were busy handling a flood of patients. There were insane humans restrained.
They had heard the gunshots. They looked up at John.
One of the patients looked at John and muttered.
"Demon..."
John ignored the person and walked towards a room for surgery, he was stopped by security... but easily killed them. There was already somebody on the operating table.
John kicked them off the table and told the surgeons not to leave.
He held them at gunpoint.
"Help me study the irregularities of these corpses!"
"What corp-?"
A corpse appeared out of thin air.
John placed it on the table.
The surgeons began to dissect the bodies. You might wonder why John didn't do this himself? He was out of practice. It had been such a long time since he had to dissect something. So he wasn't confident in his skills.
John watched the entire process and decided to join in.
He found something interesting in the brain. It was a white crystal.
It was extremely small. Like a pebble.
John had no idea what this crystal did. But if it was the source of the mutants power. Perhaps he could find some way to use it.
Maybe not right now. But now he had something to collect.
He quickly brought out the other nine corpses and had them dissected.
He now had 10 of these crystals.
He then took all of the tools and put them in his storage space, leaving the surgeons speechless.
He walked out of the hospital. There were no other irregularities found in the bodies.
John went to an alleyway and his disguise vanished.
He then went home and found some mutated humans banging on the door. He easily took care of them. Well, it wasn't exactly easy. He was overpowered by them. If it wasn't for his training and his fighting skills. He would've died.
The fighting attracted the attention of more. He punched one and it caught his punch crushing his fist. His arm was ripped off as he was tossed like a puppet whose strings had been cut.
"They are getting stronger..."
He had no choice but to run away and lead them away from his house. Once he had gotten far enough away. He detonated and appeared inside of his room.
He walked out of his room and saw his mother huddled in a corner of the room.
"When did you get back?"
"Just now."
"How did you get inside? I locked the windows."
"I respawned."
John told the truth in jest.
His mom took it as a joke and stopped asking. She always felt her son was special.
John was about to go back to his room to experiment. But his mom asked him for a favor.
"Your brother isn't picking up the phone. Is it really as dangerous outside as they say?"
"He's probably dead."
"If he isn't dead. He is still probably a lost cause. Anybody outside will have mutated and have gone insane."
"But you didn't? How are you fine?"
"My willpower isn't so weak. How would I go insane? Haven't I always been a genius?"
His mom became a bit depressed. One of her kids died just like that.
John wasn't used to comforting people. So he appeared quite cold. He went to his room to experiment with those special crystals.
He took one out and swallowed it.
He then meditated and waited for something to happen.
After eight hours... He confirmed that it did absolutely nothing!
He tried to crush it into powder that he would then snort. But it proved to be extremely tough to break. So he had to throw that idea out of the window.
He tried meditating with it in his hands.
But there were no results.

Meanwhile... in a temple.
A monk was meditating.
They didn't have internet or any form of communication with the outside world. They spent all of their time since childhood meditating and training in a temple.
They had no idea that the world had been invaded.
But because of aura. Something unique began to happen to them.
They saw a white circle appear in their mind. They began to spin it and aura began to condense around their body.
They opened their eyes in shock.
"I've been enlightened?"
They had trained their body since a young age. But they felt as if their strength had doubled. A cool feeling was circulating through their entire body.
They went to talk to the others and found out they weren't alone.
"What has caused us to break through the bottleneck?"
They were oblivious to the chaos outside.

Invulnis's POV:
A teenager was reading a xianxia book when an alert went off on his phone warning people to not go outside.
It also warned people not to look at any footage of the phenomenon in the sky. This could cause madness or death.
The teenager was a fan of 'Destinatus'. He had believed his words and expected this to happen. He had a theory. He thought that 'Destinatus' wasn't a single person. But an organization of people that had undergone special training. They all dressed the same and had bombs implanted inside of them. They then acted as 'a single person'. But really, there were many.
He hoped to join such an organization. He thought the concept was pretty cool.
The teenager was excited. He was an avid reader of webnovels. He felt like he had waited for this moment his entire life.
"It's time for me to get my golden finger."
He snuck out of his window and saw people staggering around as if they were drunk.
He looked up at the sky.

All around the world. People were reacting differently to the news. Some thought they were the chosen one and went outside looking to acquire power. They often did become superhuman. But it was at the cost of their humanity.
A very small percentage of people mutated but weren't driven insane. But you had to essentially win the lottery.
Mutants didn't attack other mutants. It was like how zombies didn't attack other zombies. But once a regular human appeared. They would chase after it.
The people that weren't driven insane. Even though they had mutated. The insane ones still went after them.
But something interesting was happening to those that won the lottery.
They were becoming stronger!
