John was pretty much useless for the next six months.
He didn't need to soul search or spend any time learning the language of the world (He couldn't soul search either way). When he was in his concept form. He had learned the language of every race and alien in the universe. Even if aliens invaded tomorrow. He would understand them.
Being a baby wasn't as boring as you would expect. He was an expert at escaping his crib. He didn't do something silly like crawling into the study to read books.
Even John knew that was abnormal behavior for a baby!
He wasn't an only child.
He had a older brother.
He was only about 10 months older though.
After a year. John was capable of walking. He had an odd desire to start training.

The average physique of a normal adult is 1 for example.
John had to fight back his constant desire to meditate.
He pretended to be a normal child.
For a little while at least.
He could pass himself off as a genius right?
At the age of 1. He walked to the study and 'taught' himself how to read. When his mother asked where he learned to use such 'big words'. He just said he had read them in a book.
His development made his older brother look like an idiot.
The comparison was probably a little unfair.
Not much happened until his 5th birthday.
"What do you want for your birthday."
"A gun..."
"?..."
"Just kidding. I would like to began practicing martial arts. Perhaps a teacher would be the best gift."
John had forgotten a lot from sifting through the infinite.
"Martial arts?"
John sighed.
"Fighting techniques. I wish to be able to protect myself."
"I'll see what I can do..."
His mom was strapped for cash. Raising two boys alone had taken a lot out of her.
"Forget it. I want you to pay for internet"
John started kindergarten. He already knew the state of the world from when he was acting as a concept. So he knew the world was fairly advanced. Nothing crazy like interstellar travel or nanites had been made yet.
But things like touch screen phones, flat screen tv's and cars were common place.
John began to train his body. He didn't go overboard as he was still young. But he didn't have to worry about crippling himself as he could just respawn back to his peak health.
There was a problem with this though. The damage done to his body would be reset. But so would his progress. This is why he made sure to have the system recognize skills. Progress made in the skill would carry over even after the body was reset to its peak state. In other words, he could get the benefits of his exercise without having to worry about hidden dark injuries.

He has been surprisingly safe since being born. He hasn't had to use his system to revive yet. Besides those thousands of times when he was fighting his other 'family members'.
John tempered his fingers by poking at trees repeatedly until his fingers and nails were bloody.
At first, besides the blood. You couldn't tell that someone had been poking holes in the tree. But after a few months and to his mom's worry.
He was capable of punching a hole into the tree trunk with his fingers.
During recess at school. He would find a tree and poke it with his fingers.
After a few months.

The system has registered it as a skill. John's hands did not look like the hands of a child. They had many scabs and didn't look too healthy at all.
But now that the system has registered it as a skill.
He didn't have to worry about losing his progress from dying. This was a loophole.
John hadn't been focusing on purely his fingers during this time. He had also been kicking rocks barefoot. To be honest. His entire body looked bruised.
This had to do with the golden finger he created himself. Once a skill was recognized by the system. It would permanently buff him in that aspect. He was trying to get the famous 'iron skin' skill.
He didn't know if these were actual skills. But it wasn't like he had something better to do.
The other kids made fun of John for poking trees.
But then they noticed one day. That he was able to actually poke holes in trees! Deep ones at that.
John didn't care about brain injuries as his consciousness was carried by neither his soul or his brain. He could have a bit of awareness through his will alone.
So he eventually started to smash his body into tree's.
He even wrapped his entire body around the branches of tree's.
An adult would have problems doing this. But a child's bones are very flexible.

By first grade. People had stopped making fun of him. Especially, nobody wanted to bully him. As he nearly killed a kid that tried to bully him.
That kid got his ass kicked.
John had practiced scraping a knife along his stomach to stimulate his abs.
It could still cut him of course. But the system was no joke. There was a bit of resistance now.
He was already as strong as the average adult at only 6 years old. This was a bit ridiculous.
John then went to the sandbox during recess and began to pound his palms and fist into it.
An old man that taught another class saw him and came up to him.
"If you temper your hands that way. You'll have problems when you get older."
John ignored him and kept smashing his hands into the sand.
While kids were learning how to read in class. He had acquired grippers.
"30,356"
"30,357"
"30,358"
John hid his hands underneath his desk as he used the grippers to train his hand strength.
At this point. John's hands didn't look healthy at all. He also decided to not give any fucks and went full in on training his body.
Pushups. Pull ups. Jumping Jacks. Chin ups. Planking.
He did it all. Well, he lacked equipment. So he mainly just did exercises that he could do without it.

By the second grade. The time given for recess had dropped from one hour to 30 minutes. But even still. John continued to train.
He had long ago stopped using trees. He instead hit the bricks in the building of the school. The other kids made sure to stay away from him. He was a training maniac!
John had also made sure to save waypoints in various places. He had some in his class. The bathroom, and his home.
He needed to die to trigger the waypoints.
John still felt incredibly weak. He was used to being a cultivator. Where he could easily punch out with 10,000 tons of force if he undid his seals.
It seemed he had hit a limit. He checked his stats everyday. But they had stopped progressing. Even with the system. There was no other source of supernatural power in the world. It was a normal world.
This was a higher reality after all. Things that were supernatural had a much harder time manifesting in this world. That was why he needed to keep his body in the calamity realm.
Even though he had successfully integrated the rules of the lower realm here. There still proved to be resistance.
This wouldn't change until the great divergence.
But he still had 12 years until then.
A lot can happen in 12 years.
