Level 7 was meant to prepare the data lifeform for entering society. It was here where you would get tested for your aptitude.
There were a few core jobs for making data in this universe. In order to graduate and receive your certificate.
You must be given a 'role' in society.
There were ten main jobs the person was tested for.
1.) Simulator.
In this job. You would simulate environments for the client. Think of it like being an artist in human society. You will likely work based on commissions. Things like making shields and such or helping modify paradises/avatars.
2.) Customer Service.
In this job... you would handle the processing of goods. These were all virtual goods. You would mainly deal with handling complaints and giving refunds.
This job varies a lot. You can for instance work as a clerk or as the processor for sales.
3.) Teacher.
You will be responsible for answering questions that students have about reality.
4.) Hacker.
You are responsible for making and breaking viruses as well as researching ways to unravel consciousness.
5.) Programmer.
You are responsible for managing the system's programs.
6.) Law Enforcement.
You are responsible for enforcing laws within the system.
7.) Entertainer.
Think of the equivalent of a content creator in the human world. Your job is to make compelling stories in various forms of media for other data lifeforms.
8.) Civil Servant.
There are a lot of different roles. Like becoming a judge, an executioner, a lawyer. There is also work like assigning and managing I.D's and registering newborns.
9.) Doctor.
Help reverse entropy for dying data lifeforms or remove viruses from them. Make sure their Paradises and Avatars are stable.
10.) Miner.
You mine information for the system by using your processing power to solve mathematical equations.
... There was also other jobs as well. But they were more niche and weren't covered under the role. Jobs like marketing and advertisement and very miscellaneous things.

John was tested. There were only a few hundred questions and they were more about what he would enjoy doing. As well as a mental strength and speed test again.
These were his results:
1.) Simulator - 10 points
2.) Customer Service - 0 points
3.) Teacher - 10 points
4.) Hacker - 20 points
5.) Programmer - 20 points
6.) Law enforcement - 10 points
7.) Entertainer - 0 points
8.) Civil Servant - 0 points
9.) Doctor - 0 points
10.) Miner - 30 points
Due to John's mental speed. The system highly recommended him to choose being a data miner. He would essentially be mining data.
John had other plans...
His options for his 'role' were: Simulator, Teacher, Hacker, Programmer, Law Enforcement, or Miner.
He felt like a commission based job where he could turn down request was perfect for him. He didn't feel like policing other people. He also didn't plan to spend all his time at school teaching the youth. Nor did he feel like displaying his uniqueness and wit making and breaking down viruses. He also almost chose programmer. But he felt that he would be put under great restrictions and scrutiny by managing the system.
John selected 'Simulator'. His properties changed:

'Make sure to stay within the bounds of the system.'
'Congratulations on becoming an adult!'
John's consciousness was fed years of information regarding the chosen role he had picked. John didn't care too much for this. He was just happy to be done with school.
'Do you wish to exchange a copy of your memories for data? Y/N'
"Yes."
John felt something sifting through his consciousness. But underneath his basic avatar and paradise was a monstrosity of calamity.
While John lacked a maximum standard firewall, and shouldn't have been able to trace it back. He was able to control how much of his memories were copied.
He hid a crap ton of information. Had John exchanged a copy of all his memories.
His data level would've been: 36,525,542,190 points.
Minimum wage was 1 data a cycle. So 1 data every 10 years. That meant John had three hundred sixty-five billion two hundred fifty-five million four hundred twenty-one thousand nine hundred years worth of data.
Why were his memories worth so much? They held deep secrets of reality! But John never planned to allow all his memories to be recorded.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
The average lump sum for a newborn was around 20,000 points.
John allowed only his fight with concepts to be sifted and only useless parts of it at that.
This resulted in him getting 9,750,000 points!
In an instant half disappeared to honor the 'contract' he made with S-even.

Data lifeforms didn't need anything to exist. So prices were pretty high since materials weren't needed to survive. People were used to spending thousands of years just to pay for entertainment that would only last them half a second.
Most things were considered a luxury. But that single second of entertainment could feel like a lifetime if the data lifeform wanted.
Now that John had graduated. He still needed one more thing.
A license! Think of the blue ball of energy that represents the entity. You can think of that as a sort of car for the consciousness.
One is not able to drive a car legally without a license.
John's blue ball of energy vanished as he was no longer in school. He also wasn't in an entertainment node.
John opened his eyes in the physical world.
"I've finally graduated!"
"Time to get my license..."
John controlled his avatar in his paradise and saw many different zones. Most of them were locked. He wasn't a blue ball of energy any longer.
He used his consciousness to enter the zone that was essentially a DMV. It was like entering the dark node. Nobody looked like balls of energy here.
John himself appeared as 'Destinatus'.
A white suit and tie. With a mask. He was capable of transforming now.
He definitely stood out. But he figured that was his destiny.
He walked to a ticket dispenser and was given a number. There weren't too many data lifeforms here. Only a few hundred.
They were all waiting patiently. Soon it was time.
The license didn't look like a human license. It was a brand on the consciousness. John decided to name his transformation 'Calamity Mode'. But the name of the persona itself would be 'Destinatus'.
John was taught some basic etiquette. Things he should and shouldn't do when exploring the universe and so on.
John's calamity mode would lack a license. Think of it like a fake identity. You can't use a fake identity to get a license.
John disappeared from this zone and was in his Paradise again.
Now he could see that every zone was unlocked. John decided to visit a shield simulator. These were people that took commissions to build shields.
What was a shield? It was the thing John first copied when he came to this world. The blue ball of energy that represented him in virtual space.
That was a shield. Even now... he could recreate his. Almost every data lifeform is capable of doing so. But John was rich!
The thing about a basic shield that is made by a data lifeform. Is that is only as good as their firewall itself. You could pay a 'shield generator' that had a better firewall for a better shield.
Think of it like buying a better car.
With a better car. You can travel faster and in this case you are even more protected. John didn't just go to any shield simulator. He went to one that had a base standard firewall.
John planned to explore the outskirts of this universe. To do so now would be a bad time. But if he got a better shield with a better firewall. That would be perfect.
As soon as John entered the zone. The simulator allowed John to see his properties.

This person had also comprehended 'Infinite Mind'. Not only that. They had a firewall that could defend and attack!
But John didn't feel inferior. His paradise and avatar had surpassed S-class.
John described that he wanted a shield that matched his current shield, but he wanted it to have base firewall. He also decided for the color to be white.
John wanted a maximum firewall. But the cost was a few times more then what he currently had, he would also need to find a simulator that met the requirements.
There was no waiting time. The shield was created in an instant and the proper 'key' for the shield was handed over to John as soon as he transferred over the data.

Before John left. He wanted another shield.
"Why would you need multiple shields?"
The shield simulator was confused. You can only use a single shield at a time. Shields weren't physical after all. As long as you had the program and key. They could serve all your travel needs.
It was pointless to have two!
"I want it for bragging rights!"
"..."
After this. John had two shields with base firewall standards.

One was a white ball of energy he would use as 'J-0hn'. The other was a blue ball of energy he would use while acting as 'Destinatus'.

Thanks to his dual existence. He could shift his consciousness.
With the new shields he could now act using his secret identity. Nobody would be able to see through it!
The only person that might be able to is the shield generator he hired. But that person wasn't likely to be exploring the places John would be.
"Time to conquer this universe..."
