Fushichin, Hellen, Hui Ying rode in their car trailing Kyong’s car. The two cars soon arrived in front of the gates of the Luviana women’s prison.
Casey and Dimitri exited Kyong’s car then Kyong himself exited. Fushichin, Hellen and Hui Ying eyed Kyong carefully.
Kyong walked over to the guard at the gate and showed his badge.
“Head detective Kyong. I’m here to investigate the case of certain suicides that’s been going on inside the women’s prison.” said Kyong happily.
“Hmph. Don’t try to sway me, detective. I have heard no such mention of a new suicide case. Whatever issues that happened inside the prison were already resolved, or so I heard.” said the guard with a round face in a grumpy tone.
Kyong could tell the name “J.Olmar” was sown onto the guard’s costume, signifying his name.
“Ahh, but you see, we have a search and investigation warrant. We are here to look again in order to absolutely be sure that the case was perfectly resolved with no loose ends.” said Kyong with a smirk.
The guard grabbed the paper from him, looked at it with confusion as he scratched his head and gave the paper back to Kyong.
“Alright, follow me.” said Olmar.
The six of them went and entered the prison.
“Which compartment would you like to investigate?” asked Olmar.
“The place where the bodies were found.” said Kyong.
“Ahh, the solitary confinement rooms then.” said Olmar.
“The solitary confinement rooms.” said Hellen.
“Right, follow me then. Solitary confinement is only for misbehaving convicts who have 40+ sentence years so it’s up on the fourth floor.” said Olmar.
They entered the worker’s elevator and quickly arrived on floor 4. After going through a few hallways they entered a narrow corridor that opened up into a large hall. Counting all the doors, there were 10 doors on the walls, Five on the wall in front of them. The other five were placed on left and right wall.
“These are the only solitary confinement rooms there is.” said Olmar.
“And which are the rooms that a suicide happened in?” asked Fushichin.
“Ehh? You’re detectives, right? Why don’t you figure that out yourselves, Hah!” said Olmar with a grin.
“Jeez, what a fussbag. Just tell us!” grumbled Hui Ying.
“Hahaha, okay. You can ask Aldart over here. He is the one who keeps a very special attention to the confined ladies.” said Olmar and slammed his hand on the guard that was sitting in front of a desk at the corner of the hall, reading a newspaper.
“Don’t make it sound weird you old fart. There is already a camera placed there to make sure I don’t try anything weird.” said the young guard with spiky hair.

The name “M.Aldart” was printed on his uniform, Fushichin noticed it.
“And besides, we’re instructed to wear body cams when entering the solitary confinement rooms and my partner is a female who was assigned to enter with me everytime we give the confined inmates food. She will come over here eventually.” said Aldart in a tired tone.
“I don’t get it, why didn’t you just place a camera inside the solitary confinement rooms?” asked Fushichin curiously.
“It’s to respect the privacy of the women. There is a toilet and a wardrobe there. We wouldn’t want jackasses jerking off seeing women undress and potty.” grumbled Aldart.
“But on the other hand, you could have prevented suicides if you placed cameras there.” said Kyong with a smile.
“Hey don’t tell me that shit. I don’t make the rules. Yeah, I guess they could have known what exactly happened inside if they had cameras. But who knows, maybe they wanted suicides to happen. Less mouths eating food from their hands.” grumbled Aldart.
Olmar slapped the guy’s head from behind and said “That’s not true, you fool! Who would want to become the headline of the news like that?”
“Tch, headline of the news my ass. A bunch of suicides happened here and there were no news” said Aldart.
“Bunch of? How many suicides?” asked Hellen.
“5.” said Aldart.
“That many?!” gasped Hui Ying.
“Sheesh, are you people actually detectives, isn’t knowing all this shit your job?” asked Olmar.
“In any case, we want to investigate the insides of the room where the suicides happened.” said Kyong urgently.
“Yes, yes. It’s the doors in front of you. The five rooms connected to that wall. And Vernonia has the keys. We’ll open the confinement rooms for you when she comes.” said Aldart.
After just a few seconds of uttering those words, a woman came from the hallway. The name sewn onto her uniform indeed said “J.Vernonia.”
Olmar said his farewells and left. The detectives entered the first confinement room after Vernonia and Aldart opened it for them.
“This is the room Hori…Sushihara was confined in.” said Vernonia while reading from a notebook.
Fushichin noticed Hellen’s expression becoming ever so serious.
The room consisted of a bed, a round watch mounted on the wall, a bookcase, a desk, toilet, sink and a bathtub. There was a giant ventilation hole with a net covering on the ceiling.
“Hmm, not bad.” said Kyong with a smile.
“Why was she punished to be in solitary confinement in the first place?” asked Hellen.
“She had a fight against an inmate where she threw the first punch. According to Hori herself she said that the inmate was bullying her and said homophobic slurs towards her and threatened to murder her family when she got out. But naturally we jailors only confine those who throw out punches, demeaning words are not encouraged but if we were to confine people for bad language then everyone would eventually get confined.” said Vernonia.
Fushichin waltzed around the room and asked “Umm, how did the victim die?” awkwardly.
“Huh, you don’t even know that? She set herself up on fire. All 5 victims died by setting themselves on fire in their own solitary confinement rooms. I don’t know how the fire was started tho.” said Vernonia.
“Man, what a way to go.” said Fushichin with shock.
“Yeah. Surely there was a less painful way to commit suicide.” said Hui Ying with a disgusted look.
“Hmm, how did they set themselves on fire?” said Fushichin as he eyed his surroundings.
“Well, if you went camping, you would know there are tons of ways to burn yourself. You can start a fire by rubbing woods together, maybe wood from the bookcase here. Or use a lens, or battery against something flammable, like that bed sheet there.” said Kyong with a sly smile.
“But isn’t the bed sheet over there fine? Was it also untampered with when you entered the scene?” asked Hellen.
“The bedsheet actually was used, now that you mention it… It was put above the body and was completely burned. The detectives took the sheet off to reveal the burnt body. The body was on the floor in the center of the room. And well, the floor got a little burnt but it didn’t spread the fire.” said Aldart.
“Wait. I actually have the bodycam footage from when we found the body. Hold on!” said Vernonia and went out.
She arrived back with a camera and stood next to Hellen and pushed a few buttons and the footage started.
“I gave this to the detectives to help their investigation. Guess it comes up again, huh.” said Vernonia.
