Ch 26 – Clueless or Criminal?

"Mew, did you use this hole after the bunny was placed here?" asked Marian.

"No, I didn't use it." said Mew.

"Then how would they know that a hole exists that would lead them to Hori's room?" asked Marian.

"A microscopic camera was placed on Mew's window. it feeds the footage to its source wirelessly. Chances are it has been there for a long time, a week or more.” explained Klancy

"Week or more?" gasped Marian.

"I definitely used the hole to reach Hori the night before dad was found dead. Damn it, then who placed the camera there?" asked Mew, frustrated.

"We don't know. But more importantly, certain someone brought this rabbit figure to this mansion." said Klancy.

Klancy turned around to face Nile with a frown.

"It was you, Nile. You brought the rabbit figure to the mansion." said Klancy.

"Yes, it is me." said Nile with sadness.

"What do you have to say for yourself?" asked Klancy.

"I didn't know anything.I just bought this figure from a shop called Tinder Games. I stored it in my apartment for a while until it was time to visit the Sushihara household. I told Mikhail I was bringing this the day before I visited the family. That's about it." said Nile.

"Have you checked the weight of the rabbit? How heavy it was when you bought it?" asked Hellen curiously.

"I actually didn't check. I paid for the store owners to carry it into my house." said Nile casually.

"Then you should have at least seen how many people carried it. Judging from that you can tell us how heavy it was at that time." said Galtomor.

"I...yes. I suppose I could. Two people carried it. Those two didn't seem to be that muscular. Just regular old young adults." said Nile.

"So we can guess that a person wasn't inside the rabbit figure at that time?" asked Hellen.

"It's still strange. Why would they sell you a figure that has a zipper inside it? In fact, did you know that a zipper existed?" asked Klancy.

"No, of course not." said Nile.

"What do you think this zipper is for? its instructions and functions didn't mention the fact that you can get inside it?" asked Klancy.

"Umm, no. There wasn't any instruction or manual. It's just a figure." said Nile.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"Hmm, I see. We need to investigate that shop then." said Hellen.

"Hey, you carried the rabbit figure outside of your apartment and waited for Mikhail to come with a van, right?" asked Galtomor.

"Well, actually no. George, me and Nile all three carried this figure from his house down to my car." said Mikhail.

"So, at that time the rabbit figure had already became heavy. It wasn't that heavy when the delivery team carried the figure to your apartment." said Galtomor.

"Huh, in that case, Someone must have entered the rabbit figure while I was gone." said Nile.

"Who?" asked Salim.

"I had a few visitors at my house. Some of my old colleagues. Johnson Smith and Johan Lenin." said Nile.

"Huh, those names sound...suspiciously generic." pondered Fushichin.

"Hey, stop making fun of the names of my friends!" yelled Nile.

Nile quickly regained his composure and said “Anyways, they visited me a few days ago, we drank and I got a little drunk.I slept and when I woke up, they were gone. They also somehow managed to leave the door open. It was quite a dangerous act.Yes, yes, maybe someone from the outside could have entered my apartment and entered the figure."

"Just a random nobody?" pondered Hellen.

"It could be that Johnson and Johan were in on it, or one of them.Could you please, contact those two?" asked Galtomor.

"Unfortunately, they are foreigners, they must have flown away. They are not receiving my calls."

"And I bet their registry isn't on the citizenship list of this country." said Klancy.

"Yes, since they are foreigners." explained Nile.

"Things are suspiciously being convenient for you, Nile." said Fushichin with a frown.

"What do you mean?" asked Nile cluelessly.

"Hey, Nile, since those two were in your house, then maybe some fingerprints or hair would have stayed in your apartment, right?" asked Fushichin.

"I dunno, I'm not well versed in that stuff." said Nile.

"Mister Klancy, would you care?" asked Fushichin.

"Yeah, I was thinking of doing so as well." said Klancy.

Klancy pressed the switch on his radio system.

"I want an investigation team to go to the apartment of Nile Nelson, search it thoroughly and collect fingerprints and DNAs from the scene, now!" ordered Klancy.

Nile quickly moved out of the room. Fushichin and Hellen quickly ran after him.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?" yelled Fushichin from behind Nile.

Nile was aiming towards the door that leads to hallway A2.

"Oh, to the bathroom." said Nile.

"You're supposed to be with me." cried Fushichin.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I just thought something as private as a toilet break is allowed." explained Nile with sadness.

Galtomor, Klancy and Salim exited Mew's room while Hellen and Fushichin approached Nile.

"No, it's not. If you're peeing, I'm gonna be right next to you when you pee. If you're shitting, I'm gonna stand right next to you when you're shitting. Especially cause it's you!" cried Fushichin.

"You creep, get away from me!" cried Nile.

Nile sprinted and opened the door towards Hallway A2. When Nile tried to enter Hallway A2 Fushichin rammed into him, grabbed his shirt by the waist.

Fushichin then put his left leg behind Nile's leg then swiped it off balance. Nile fell to the ground easily. The other detectives came as well.

"Quickly, check this bastard's clothes. He is trying to contact someone." yelled Fushichin.

Immediately, as they said, they performed a body check. It took a while.

"I definitely didn't find any phones. He might have been telling the truth about losing his phone." said Galtomor.

"Wait, what is this?" asked Klancy.

Klancy pulled out a small dark orb. It had two buttons on it, one of the button said on, the other said off.

"Hmm, it might be me some sort of a communicator." said Klancy

Klancy put it in his pocket.

"Tie him up." ordered Klancy.

The detectives speedily tied him up and stored him in the lab then got out.

About 5 minutes later after preparations the five detectives entered the lab.
