Ch 19 – Super Hacker and Secret knife

"So, I didn't mention this in a big portion of my alibi. But I was actually at the inspection room from 20:30 pm to 23:20 pm. I was trying to hack into Tenma's computer."

"Why were you trying to do that exactly?" asked Hellen.

"Tenma was always talking about his genius new inventions or findings. And he is writing an article or paper on it or something. He wouldn't share to us the details when I asked him." said Mikhail.

His eyes became fierce and Mikhail muttered "Damn bastard, always like to make us feel jealous about his success. But I knew Tenma wasn't just all barks. He had to have something important on his pc, I knew it. I managed to breakthrough the first password section of the pc by running a program that brute forces it. Afterwards I searched through the stuff that was on his pc. Until I encountered a file called research findings."

Galtomor looked at Klancy and winced whereas Klancy blinked in response.

"The file was guarded stupidly well. Any kind of attempt at running a program that inputs password combinations failed and detected. This made me very interested. So I dug up his files and attempted all sorts of different ways to hack into the file but to no avail. I think I gave up and got out of the inspection room sometime at 23 pm. I went downstairs and met Reiner, Nile and George at the main hall.”

"Alright, I guess your alibi makes a little more sense now." said Klancy casually.

"I hope I don't get into any trouble for my actions." said Mikhail.

"You attempted to steal personal info from a person. You're either paying fine for the family or receiving some punishment." said Salim with a frown.

"Well, shit." grumbled Mikhail in disbelief.

Mikhail was let out of the room, but the cops made sure to watch him from now on.

"That's the end of that I guess" said Galtomor, sat on one of the chairs in the dining hall and claimed "I don't find anything else wrong with these alibis."

"Okay, I have a question." said Klancy.

"What?" asked Hellen.

"Have you guys figured out what Marian could be hiding?" said Klancy.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. But the recent alibis we got and the lies we exposed could add new hints as to what Marian could be hiding." said Fushichin.

The five of them silently thought for a while.

"I think a certain topic may be related to what Marian is hiding. It's just a theory but-" said Fushichin then got up to his feet, looked at Hellen and said "I'm sorry, Could you call Marian into the room Hellen? I wanna see her reaction to my theory."

Hellen gasped and said "What? Shouldn't we discuss this before-"

"It's more thrilling this way." said Fushichin with a smirk.

He shrugged his shoulders and further said "And I don't think this theory is far from the truth."

"Alright, don't cry if you end up embarrassing yourself." said Hellen and went out of the room.

Soon she arrived at the dining hall with Marian.

"What do you people want?" asked Marian aggressively.

"Your opinion about my theories. I'm assuming you're not gonna tell the truth about what you did at 15 pm?" asked Fushichin.

"I already told you the truth." said Marian.

"No, you didn't. Marian, you lied. And I think you lied because of the affair between Tenma and Yumiko” said Fushichin with a frown.

"Yumiko and Tenma's affair?" gasped Hellen.

"Are you sure about that?" asked Klancy.

"What you're saying doesn't make sense. Yumiko had an affair with Tenma from 10 am to 12 pm. Marian was lying about what happened at 15 pm." said Salim in confusion.

Fushichin smirked and said "I know, but just imagine. Marian must have known about Tenma and Yumiko's relationship. I mean look at her, she didn't even scream saying ‘what affair? An affair with Tenma?'”

Looking at Fushichin’s silly face, Marian raged and said "Wha? I don't have to act the way you expect. I was just shocked. Shocked and doubtful of what you told me is the truth."

"If you knew about this affair, would you have mentioned this in your alibi?” asked Fushichin.

“I-I probably would. You guys need every info to deduce the truth, right?" said Marian.

"Yes, including your reactions. And to tell you, we know someone peeked on Tenma and Yumiko's deed at 11 am. And that someone may likely be you, Marian." said Fushichin with a frown.

Marian was clearly surprised and timid.

"If you remember, Marian doesn't have an alibi at 11 am. And something happened between Yumiko and Marian at 15 pm. Otherwise, just like you said, you should have said something to us about the affair.” said Fushichin.

"I'm telling you, I didn't know about this." grunted Marian.

"Why did you call Yumiko to privately talk with her? Weren't you going to talk to her about her affair?" asked Fushichin fiercely.

"No, I was just going to ask her about her life, and how she was doing." said Marian with a frown.

"Then there was no need to ask her to talk privately. You could have talked about that in front of Succi and Jude." said Fushichin scoldingly.

"I could have, doesn't mean I needed to." said Marian with stubbornness.

"Alright, then let me ask you one more thing. You and Yumiko talked together at the library, yes?" asked Fushichin.

"Yes, that is correct." said Marian.

"Do you know what was found at the library by the cops?" asked Fushichin.

"What, what was found at the library?!" gasped Marian.

Fushichin showed the picture of a knife to Marian on his phone.

"A clean knife was found at the library. It was hidden behind one of the bookcases. I imagine it was hidden pretty well. There have been a few suspects who have searched the library but didn't find this." said Fushichin clearly amused.

"That knife, it's from our kitchen, isn't it?" gasped Marian.

"Yes, you and Yumiko meeting at the library is when the knife was hidden at the library." said Fushichin.

"You don't know that." grunted Marian.
