“Here we go,” I said, slicing a monster's head off.
The loss of my shield was very tragic, I've never felt the same ever since its demise. My disappointment is immeasurable.
But in all seriousness, I sort of do miss my shield, it was a handy shield. I guess I won’t be able to have more options when fighting.
We had finished the sixty fourth floor. Due to the increase of difficulty, our pace slowed, two weeks going by.
The strange thing about it is we encountered another boss on the forty fifth floor, a dog with two heads.
I wouldn’t say it was easy, but the monster was no match for us. All of us contributed to the victory which made it easier to clear than normal.
Our chemistry was pretty good.
There might be a chance we encounter another on the forty fifth floor since the amount of floors where a boss appeared shrinked after the first one.
I wiped the blood from my sword, the metallic material always got tainted by the monster's blood.
Honestly, it was disgusting.
I put the bag down, grabbing the stone dropped by the monster. I stuffed it inside the cramped space. Due to the lack of space, I decided to take some out and crush them up.
The spider's food needed to be refilled. The baby spiders were beginning to grow up, as such the food consumption increased.
For those wondering where the spiders are, I stored them inside the dagger. They are quite comfy in their new home.
Since I’m the one in charge of carrying the bag, I was able to take advantage to store them inside the dagger. I briefly took them out when Rick gave the lesson to the group.
Once he finished, I put them back inside. Rick never mentioned anything about storing living monsters because he isn’t used to the concept. He’s more well versed in adventuring rather than whatever I’m doing is called.
I placed the bag on my back, and moved my shoulders to check my mobility. Once good, I let a slight yawn, making sure to cover my mouth.
“Do you think there is going to be another boss?” Rick asked, swaying his staff.
“Honestly, I don’t know, but it’s better to be prepared,” I said. “Does anyone need anything? Mana potions?”
“Yeah! Right here!”

“I’ll take one…”
I handed out two mana potions to Cynthia and Rick, much to my annoyance since I had to put the bag back down. Cynthia and Rick both sipped on the mana potion as I got everything ready again.
With that, we had a single mana potion left. Cynthia and Rick, the primary support mages, had used the other mana potions.
This remaining mana potion would be saved until the very end. By far it was the most valuable thing in our possession. On the off chance, this is the last boss or at the very least a boss that'll come in handy during the fight.
If it isn’t then they simply replenished their mana reserves which is good for us either way. Since it was a win-win situation, there wasn’t much concern whether this was the right time to utilize it.
“All right, let’s continue!”
We continued our way through the floor until we got to the sixty fifth floor. The stone doors was the confirmation needed for me to pay myself on the back.
This time however there were two statues on each door. Each statue was gigantic, if giant people existed they would definitely be the size of those stone figures.
The status gave a nice decoration to the previous dull entrance, but I knew far too well what this meant.
First, this was probably the entrance to the final boss of the dungeon. Second, these statues which should move will definitely move as they have to be guarding the entrance.
Rick must’ve come to the same confusion as he whispered, “What are we going to do?”
You know what? It doesn’t matter, anything we do will end up in them waking up and attacking us. So what better thing to do than get the first strike in before they can react.
I put my sword on my sheath, I then aimed for the statues. I glanced at Rick for him to mimic my actions. With a slight nod he pointed his staff towards the statues.
I also glanced at Leon and gazed at the tiny rocks scattered around the ground. Leon closed his eyes and opened them as he crouched to grab the rocks. He threw rocks at each of the statues with absolutely no effort at all.
The moment the rocks hit the statues, their eyes began glowing red. Their movement, although slow, was the signal for us to attack them.
I opted for a slightly harder spell as I launched rays of lights at the left one. Rick on the other hand decided to use an explosion spell on the right one.
There was a sudden light slash sent to the left statue which would have only been made by a sword since the technique is when the blade is swung at a velocity beyond the speed of sound.
Since I was shooting rays of light, the attack blended right in with my own. I almost guaranteed none other than me noticed the additional attack. The only reason I was able to was since I’m used to the spells I use.
The sudden barrage of spells pierced the statues as debris flung everywhere, some being from the satues themselves. Soon the smoke dissipated the statues were demolished to the point where they were nothing more than large pieces of stone gathered in one location.
“Huh…that was easier than I expected.”
“It sure was!”
I walked towards the corpses of the monster and touched the remains.
Hm.
These are normal stones.
I guess we really did finsh these within a second. The only thing left to do is open these doors and confront the final boss. It was lucky of us to not exert much energy before the grand battle.
