It’s been awhile. Three weeks to be exact. Today is going to mark my first month attending the academy. In the three weeks, nothing of importance occurred.
I met with Lester and Nelson a couple of times, talking about random topics. Lester was grateful for my actions. While the effects are still present, it has decreased bit by bit. When conversing Lester, Randy was with him half of the time.
Abigail has been giving me the cold shoulder. She made no attempts to make contact with me, but it made sense. We barely knew each other, and I had to mess up our relationship by my decision.
Eh, you win some, you lose some.
I’ve been keeping contact with both Raymond and Daisuke. Apparently the situation still hasn’t gone haywire, exactly how I expected. The student from 2-A isn’t likely to make any moves for the time being.
After all, she doesn’t have any information on the enemy, me. Sure, she can send some people to investigate me.
However…
What will you be able to find?
I lived a pretty normal life so there isn’t anything suspicious. Though on the topic of being investigated. I’ve noticed some suspicious behavior.
Someone is definitely following me. I guess they were fast to identify me. They’re only watching me from afar, and I sensed no ill intent.
Yet I can’t discern a motive. Although the following makes sense if they’re investigating me, why hasn’t Mitsugi commented about a similar experience?
I discreetly asked him yet he acted ignorant, almost as he wasn’t being followed. As if I’m the only one experiencing this situation. I had this lingering suspicion since the first day however I searched for alternative answers but to no avail.
It must be the necklace.
That’s the only logical explanation. A few days after being given the necklace, the stalking occurred. Looks like her gift wasn’t out of good will. I knew it was too good to be true. I’m still keeping the necklace to myself, it’s a fine piece of jewelry.
Fortunately, I won’t need to let this bother me since they won’t take any action soon. I know that for a fact as they’ve been following me for three weeks and nothing has happened. I won’t exactly let my guard down, but it’s safe for now.
“Hello?”
The voice of a girl brought me out of my thoughts. Her hand waved across my face. When I turned my right to face her, she pointed across the room where the teacher was. She seemed ready to give an important announcement.
Huh, what a kind gesture.
“Everyone can I have your attention?” The teacher clapped her hands. “I have an important announcement. The grading period is finished; however, results won’t be shared until the completion of the assessment.”

She grabbed a piece of paper, holding them in the area. “I’ll be calling six names, the group of six should head to the destination which will be another first year classroom. You’ll be given an explanation once you get there.”
“Using simple math, you’ll see how there will be four students left. Well, don’t worry. These are the top 4 students who scored the highest in this class. You’ll stay here until all groups have been dismissed,” she explained, putting the paper on her table.
“Any questions?”
A student raised his hand. “Uh, are the placements determined by the written test?”
“That’s only part of it. We also took note during the sparring session. There’s additional information, but explaining all of them would take too much time.”
“O-okay,” he replied, putting his hand back down.
“If there’s no question left, I’ll be reading the names,” she said, gazing at the paper.
“Your highness Princess Ortlinde Azalea Amidonia, congratulations! You’re the one who scored the highest in all forms of evaluation,” she smiled, giving her a round of applause.
The rest of us followed. The princess's response was a simple nod. It didn’t come as a surprise, I think all of us knew she would be number one.
“In second place is Mitsugi Miki!”
Oh.
That’s…
Surprising…
It turns out Mitsugi is overpowered! But in all seriousness, this does explain how he dealt with many of the encounters.
Wait…
Then why did he get overwhelmed by the princess?
He wasn’t holding back…
Is there that much of a gap between Mitsugi and the princess?
No wonder, I stood no chance against her. I don’t know whether I should be happy or sad.
Anyways, by her words, the six students who’ll be called will be part of the top ten, since the top four are already determined. They took into account a lot of things so I expected an accurate assessment.
The teacher proceeded to call out six unknown names, I didn’t recognize a single of them.
“You six will head to Class A,” she uttered.
“Yes, teacher.” One of them replied, nodding.
“…, …, …, …, Abigail Basset, …, you’ll be staying in this classroom.”
Oh, so it will go from best to worst.
“Louise Remendis, …, …, …, …, …, your destination is Class C.”
She then began reading the names of six more unknown people. I sat in pure silence as I thought about the situation.
Damn, I must suck.
Another six students were called, I awkwardly waited for my turn. Mitsugi glanced at me with a tiny bit of pity.
This man lied to me! The answer wasn’t six!
“Taetel Chaim, …, …, …, …, …, you are the last group, as such you’ll go to Class F.”
I stood up, and headed towards the exit with my fellow five classmates. I didn’t even spare them a glance. When I exited the room, I was greeted by a crowd of students, there were at least thirty of them. I pushed some of them out the way to go to my destination.
Arriving to Class F, multiple students were already at the door. Most were around the area so as to not cause another situation like the one I just escaped from.
