I leaned against a wall, letting my arm rest on my knee. The battle had finished as such Rick began healing Rona. Her injuries were better as there wasn’t any blood dried up.
She wiped the blood with a handkerchief given by Arakawa, which I don't know why she has one at this point in time but that’s besides the point. To be honest there really isn’t much to do, so my thoughts wander to random topics.
Now that I think about it, there’s an actual reason as to why there are people with names that are from a whole other country. The relationship between Lexington and the Agneya Kingdom is one of an ally. The sudden influx of people migrating to this country from the Agneya Kingdom in the recent century is due to issues regarding a possible war.
To give context, ever since the Agneya Kingdom lost the Battle of Seibetsu in TP 623 the current situation has gone for the worst. The land was taken by Ohrid, the territory being surrounded by troops station back there.
Conflict or at the very least tension rises all the way back in TP 574 with the King of Ohird's attempt to expand the country by invading weaker, less developed countries.
The conquest went well until they found themselves near the Agneya Kingdom. They had two options, either retreat or continue the conquest, them choosing the latter option.
At first it started as skirmishes at the outskirts of Angenya. Unfortunately, standing between Ohrid and Angeya is a tiny country by the name of Woxin. Most of the skirmishes took place in their land. Woxin was far too weak to oppose stronger countries as such they had no choice but to keep a neutral stand.
The skirmishes stopped after the unexpected death of the former King in TP 578. The sudden twist of events left them unsure of their next choice.
For the next several decades Ohrid was in an internal fight for the power of the crown, the next person to the throne was going to be his newborn son however he went missing under unknown circumstances.
It wasn’t until TP 614, thirty six years later when they finally resolved the issue, a new King was crowned, he’s also the current King Ohrid.
Less than eight years, seven years and nine months to be exact, the King of Ohrid commanded troops to send reinforcements at the outskirts of the Agneya Kingdom, the city closest was Seibetsu hence the name “The Battle of Seibetsu”.
The battle for the land lasted from TP 621 through TP 623, ultimately ending with the Agneya Kingdom letting the land be occupied by the Ohrid.
Of course I doubt they’re fine with it since they haven’t shown any signs of letting the land go to Ohrid. However the Kingdom also doesn’t seem keen on immediately declaring war.
With the year being TP 629, and no movement from the Agneya Kingdom many think they gave up, however people from their country think otherwise.
Generations have been relocating to this country ever since TP 543, the events leading to The Battle of Seibetsu have all been due to the rising tension between the two countries. This wasn’t the first time they had a dispute, the last time being all the way back in TP 394.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Contrary to what one may believe, the long time period is significant to the unresolved tension as the new generations from both countries were raised hearing their country's propaganda.
Once the former King of Ohrid commanded to attack the outskirts of Agneya, many decided to relocate to this country, Lexington. Lexington, being an ally of the Agneya Kingdom accepted them with welcome arms.
Well, the decision definitely wasn’t from the bottom of their hearts. Sure they may be allies, yet it doesn’t mean they will behave in another countries interest. There has to be mutual benefit for them to accept such a high amount of people coming to their country.
As such the county of Lexington has been used to the presence of people from the Agneya Kingdom. In addition the Agneya Kingdom has a bigger population so they weren’t affected much.
If it wasn’t for Lexington benefiting I would’ve assumed the Kingdom of Agneya dumped their unwanted goods.
You know, since I was always used to it, it never occurred to me to point out the strange phenomenon. It’s probably confusing to hear names such as Taetel Chaim, Leon Basset, and Rick Keller, then hear a name like Minori Arakawa.
Strange how things go in life. Various people from another country now reside here which leaves me unsure about the situation.
Oh, well, it isn’t this country’s problem. I’m not about to worry about another country where I don’t live, it is what it is. I cannot do anything about it, my influence is that insignificant. In the first place, I don’t have any.
My mouth opened, I covered my mouth with my arm. I yawned, staring at the ice ceiling. My eyes wandered around the vicinity, Cynthia and Arakawa were inspecting the mana stone.
Yes, you heard me correctly, mana stone. Dungeon bosses generally drop mana stones upon their death, exceptions being if the unrefined mana stone is too high level to be immediately turned into a mana stone.
“Finally!” said Rick, shouting. “Let’s heal you next, Taetel!”
He proceeded to repeat the actions he did with Rona, the injuries and pain subsiding. I patiently waited as the healing was still active.
Rick had also not come out without injuries of his own. His hands were bruised, and a red line on his left arm. The blood from the wound dried up, leaving his arm looking far worse.
Hm?
“Rick, have you seen Leon? I can’t seem to find him,” I said, cocking my head in front of me.
“Huh. Now that you mentioned it, he isn’t here,” said Rona, entering the conversation.
He isn’t anywhere to be found or at the very least within the area. Where has he gone? It’s foolish to wander off on your own, but even more so when you are potentially injured.
“Hey, you two! Where is Leon?” Rick said, looking back as he shouted.
They both shrugged in response. Right when we were about to state our opinions, a student appeared. Leon suddenly popped out of nothing as if waiting for anyone to call him.
“What were you doing?” I asked, tilting my head much to my body's dismay.
The sharp pain wasn’t pleasant.
“Nothing, I was simply trying to numb the pain,” he said.
Right. Since we are in this cold place, the injuries quickly become numb if there isn’t any movement. We should probably have left the area then healed, but the injuries sustained were dangerous to be left untreated.
All I’m saying is one word.
Infections.
