Chapter 13: Planned Meeting

Chapter 13: Planned Meeting

I stood dejected that I was rejected by such a beautiful girl. In all seriousness, I stood alone, thinking about the circumstances regarding the events that transpired. I went home, making sure I understood the predicament.

By the time I got home, I was greeted by no one.

Not a single soul was in the house, it was absolutely silent inside the house, except for the noises outside. So in the end, it wasn’t as depressing as it may seem at first.

Plus I was used to this sight, as I mentioned a while back both of my parents paid for my tuition. As such, they both got jobs to pay off the debt.

Now that I think about it, the tuition fee had no reason to be that expensive. I heard from people that it wasn’t that costly. Wait, it makes sense. After all, I was placed in Class B, making the education better, which correlates to a bigger salary to the staff, which would explain the expense.

I sighed, heading to my room and changing my outfit to a more casual one. Just a nice pair of pants and a long sleeve shirt. Nothing too extraordinary, yet comfortable clothing. I scratched my nose, and went back to the door leading to the exit. I left the house, and entered the open market.

I may have missed it, but I won’t miss it. I casually went out to the market, searching for a certain store. I inspected the building before choosing the fancy clothing store.

“Welcome, customer. What may I help you with?” A girl in her mid twenties, greeted from a counter.

“Has the order been finished? If I recall it should’ve been done by now,” I said, handing the woman a piece of paper.

“Ah. Yes sir, we have finished it. Please follow me,” she replied, bowing and then guiding me to the back of the store.

I observed the store's clothing, in which you could clearly tell that it was high quality. It wasn’t long before she stopped, and turned around to me.

“Please wait here as I go get it,” she politely said, heading inside what I assumed to be a storage room of sorts.

In the meantime, I decided to grab a piece of clothing and touch it.

It’s silky smooth, almost as smooth as—

“Here is your order, sir. Don’t worry about the price since it was paid in advance,” she smiled, handing me a suit.

“Thank you, I’ll make sure to come here again,” I smiled back, waving my hand as I left the store.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

I quickly went towards an alleyway, and changed into my new expensive suit, which now cost a lot of money. Since I knew nobody was trailing me, I could peacefully change. As for my old clothes, well, I didn’t discard them. I went out the alleyway and to my house. I didn’t gather much attention contrary to what you might think.

Nobles aren’t a rare sight so most are used to seeing them. On the off chance one would want to rob them then you pretty much dug your own grave as most are capable of defending themselves. As those who don’t have some sort of bodyguard at all times.

I placed my clothes on top of my bed, and once again left. I made my way towards a local canteen, not to be confused with the academy one. Opening the door, I sat down in the front next to some other people.

“Can I get some milk?” I asked with a straight face.

“Sure,” he responded.

“Hey, kid. How come you decided to get milk? Not that I’m judging, but by your appearance you look wealthy enough to purchase wine. Not like us who are either drinking beer or ale.”

“Well, since I’ll be drinking wine with some people. I might as well drink milk to help sooth the incoming alcohol,” I replied, grabbing my glass of milk.

I sipped the contents, and talked with the people near me. Most were drunk so I had an easier time bonding with them. I only drank a single glass of milk to not fill my stomach with liquid.

“Hey, bartender? Is this your first day here?” I asked a peculiar question.

“Uh, no. I’ve been here quite a long time,” he replied, confused.

“Nah, it has to. If not then why aren’t you doing your job?” I said, slightly coming as snotty

“But this is my job?” He responded more aggressively this time.

I scratched my head, a bit tired with his attitude. I got up, and searched for a waitress. I tapped on her shoulder to gain their attention.

“Hey,” I said.

“Oh, I’m sorry for the inconvenience! I’ll make sure to get him right away,” she bowed, apologizing profusely.

“It’s fine, all you have to do is go get him,” I said, heading back to my spot.

As it takes a bit for it, I can chill and converse with the rest of the people here. I’m kidding if they talk to me then I’ll respond other than that I’ll be minding my business. I patiently waited for him, and may or may not get another glass of milk in the meantime.

“Sorry if my attitude seems shitty,” I apologized to the bartender as he gave me my glass of milk.

I’m sure if I hadn’t then he would’ve spilled that right on my new uniform and things would have escalated from there. Because there’s no way I’ll let someone ruin this new clothing that I definitely bought with my own money.

“Mhm,” he nodded.

“Sorry for the wait,” said a man in his mid forties.

As I saw him, I got up and headed towards him. He smiled and offered a handshake, which I accepted like any respectful person.

“I have to say, you're my favorite customer,” he said, smiling ear to ear.

“Haha, that’s quite the honor,” I chuckled.

“Well, should we head out now?” he asked, grinning.

“Yeah, I can’t wait,” I responded, rubbing my hands as a joke.
